  • I've been asked by Gudrun Erla @gedesignsgudrun and Terry Atkinson to participate in a virtual studio tour! 🧵💟✂️⁣

While my spaces aren't decorator home and garden magazine style glamorous, I have everything I need and then some.⁣

I truly believe that it's not the size or show worthiness of your space that is important, but what you create from within your space that matters!

I retired from the post office 15 yrs ago. I liked going hither and yon, and worked in more than 10 offices both large and tiny, new and old. My last PO was a rented front room in my landlord's home. I love all your creative spaces, but I feel especially connected to your Quiltville post office. Thanks for having me over.

I'm glad I am not the only piler! I do love your love for scrap quilts. They are may favorite kind. The thought of doing a bunch of blocks all with the same fabrics in the same spots is BORING!!!

I think this is sew inviting. Miss you, Bonnie, and hope Lola is doing better without Dresden. I know how you just don’t have it in you to do Quilt Cam, but looking forward to when you are. God Bless! Nebraska Nel

How could anyone do a thumbs down? Very nice. I love to see that others being creative have piles and boxes of things going on. Project boxes are a must. I love all of your vintage machines. They make such a nice seam.

Nancy I have a theory on “thumbs down” CZcams ratings: oftentimes CZcams lists videos ‘Recommended For You’ to me, that I am completely disinterested in, some downright offensive. I think some YT users may get a video like this recommended to them that they don’t want, so they use “thumbs down” to show CZcams their displeasure- no reflection in the actual video post-er. And some just can’t get the hang of the touchscreen on their phones, and they think they actually hit “thumbs up”. I myself would ignore any thumbs down votes as mistakes, or nothing to do with me if I was posting a video on YT.

Wonderful spaces - thanks for sharing! Delightful to see Lola lounging on a part-of-quilt. I, too, think that a little cat hair is a fair price for all the love and pleasure that our kitties give us.

Love your studio spaces. Beautiful finished quilt. I love the bin’s that are being hidden under your long arm. It makes me feel good because I have them under mine too but somehow I think that I shouldn’t. Glad to see others do too. I will quit feeling guilty. 😉

I’m so happy to see a video with a real studio. I store all my fabric in bins stacked similarly. I have an extremely small 1936 house and so my sit down long arm is in a space that is very small and then i have my sewing machine and cutting table sharing a space with a guest bedroom. It works for me but I always worry that when a repair person comes in they are judging my bins and saying we’re hoarders. But no, our basement is livable space and we have no garage and he ONLY storage we have for non quilting things is under the stairs. I love all your spaces and vintage machines. Especially love the light though with the windows.

Wow! Thanks for sharing, Bonnie, I love seeing how the professionals have their creative spaces set up. Looks like you have terrific lighting, and your “basement space” is not really underground as my (dark) basement is. Which is why I need much better lighting (and heating) down there before I can really use it. I get that Quiltville Inn & Post Office bldg is your business, and the cabin is your [year round?] retreat... but then you have a home elsewhere, right? How far are the three locations from each other? I am just curious ... it sounds like you have to do a lot of driving, which can get dicey in winter months. ~Diana K.
