    Thank you very much for uploading this review and actually testing the performance of various modes. It annoys me when people call a video a review and just unbox it and push it around a table talking about it. I just started looking for a 40,000 count meter to test micro amps on micro controllers in deep sleep mode. I like that you discussed the back light in detail because the last meter I purchased has a back light that only stays on for 15 seconds which is super annoying especially since these back lights use so little power you could leave them on for days and still have plenty of battery life left. It is frustrating how companies come up with good ideas and then mess it up by failing to pay attention to other details... I like the backlight + lighted selector knob + ambient light sensor but why the heck did they not think "oh we should give people a manual override while we're at it".

      Hi, and thanks for the kind comments. 👍 Happy to hear the video was useful and covered the functions you were interested in on the meter. This little meter has a lot of pluses, but just like any other meter I guess it also has the odd negative point, like the manual light override.
      Cheers

      Hi.. I would say for the calibration of other pieces of equipment you might be better spending a bit more money on some higher grade test gear, however if this is what suits your budget etc then it is an acceptable little meter which will be fine for general purpose use.

    Hmm very nice meter john :-D, shame about the display but not all lcd's are perfect at all angles.
    Even some of the expensive brands are iffey at some angles.
    I see it's one of those chipsets with a serial eeprom for calibration and features, should be possible to update the eeprom as the melf resistors drift slightly, should last a long time though before it needs a cal :-D.
    Things i don't like, the com and v-o-a sockets swapped place, it's what i got used to.
    And no slot for an emergency teabag lol :-D. (im a tea-a-holic.)

      @@m.3041 I dont agree at all, especially considering that for electronics purposes its almost as accurate as a calibrated Fluke 289. Its never going to be as well made or as durable as a Fluke, Gossen or Keysight meter, but bear in mind that this meter is nowhere near the price of one either.

    Those leads look like PVC to me, although fairly compliant. My favorite leads come from probemaster which I use on all my meters. Much nicer than Fluke TL175 etc for less money. I've cut the wires on several cheap leads and the amount of copper is shocking. Big thick insulation and a few strands running through the middle. I guess it's an area Chinese manufacturers feel they can cut costs. Transistor testers on meters make my skin crawl too. If they were necessary they'd be on all the top meters including my Fluke 289. Diode mode should be enough for anybody.

    • @OrbiterElectronics
      @OrbiterElectronics  Před 5 lety

      Yes perhaps I should have said silicone 'type' leads :) I'll remember that in future. I like the Probemaster leads too but I only have one set, I do my Pomona leads too. Most of the 'copper' in leads of this type are actually only CCA (copper clad aluminium) and I agree it's not very good, especially if you need to solder it.. Argh :)
      Thanks for stopping by buddy

      Exemplo um teste com um LED que não é necessário para uso custa 300 r$ E outro teste de 290 r$ que não tem o LED e é da mesma marca. Porque as vezes tem teste que tem novidades que não são necessário na bancada vc investe dinheiro desnecessário porque estou querendo comprar um de uma boa qualidade e de um valor razoável já tenho alguns testes mais são antigo quero usar um completo então colega ficarei grato por sua resposta

    • @OrbiterElectronics
      @OrbiterElectronics  Před 4 lety +1

      @@luizmoraes621 Em primeiro lugar .. Tente evitar os multímetros sub-40 muito baratos. Se você não deseja ou não consegue obter algo como um Fluke 87v ou um Keysight U1252B, etc. Pelo menos ainda tente obter uma marca conhecida, como talvez um Fluke ou Extech, Uni-T etc mais barato, pois eles têm alguns medidores acessíveis. Por exemplo, o Extech EX330 é um excelente medidor para eletrônicos, embora não seja um medidor True RMS, eles tendem a custar mais. Confira o Fluke 117 ou 179 se você precisar de True RMS. Ou basta digitar no Google .. 'Sub $ 150 multímetros' ou qualquer que seja o seu limite. Leia os recursos do medidor, etc. e verifique se seus requisitos foram atendidos.

      @@yankovalsky7696 Ehhhm the SPECS!
      What is the point of 40k count with 0.1% accuracy?? ...that is GARBAGE beyond 10k count!
      The AN870 is 0.05% which is twice as good and makes sense for 20k count. I have three, and all are well above their specs.
      By comparison the HP-770D costs 3x as much but is 1/2 the accuracy.
      If the HP-770D had 0.02%, then for the price it would be awesome value.
      As a final note, the 40k count smells like marketing deception crap to me, and as an engineer i HATE this kind of thing.
