- WIth the reveal of Infinite's theme song and the trailer "Enter Infinite," it's about time that I as the Lyoko Gem, to analyze both the trailer and the song.
But with that being said, it's time to really see what it means to be Infinite.

Tails: whoa this guy is faster than sonic!!!
Edgy doesn't describe Infinite, he's a nuclear explosion of shattered glass. *That's* how edgy he is.

Maybe shadow,chaos,metal sonic, and zavok are just illusions made by infinite?That would explain the weirdness with chaos and shadows eye. Maybe they aren't the real thing?

So... I belive that in this part, infinite is talking to OC the Hero, you know, 'cause he's telling about "the diference between you and me" and "who's gonna save you now?".
Also, that part of "You live a lie", maybe he knows something about the Oc that he don't, like that he's being used or something like that, that also would make sense with the "It's all an illution" part.
And the "I never end" maybe he's reffering that all the infinite problem is, well, infinite... you know, like something that happend in a specific number of years or something like that, like in Unleashed.
Finally the "It's only me and you", probably refering that the TRUE final boss it's only with the OC...
But again, thats just me...
PD: I say that the Shadow of Infinite side is a Shadow from a different time line, as well of Chaos, Zavok and Metal are the same xD

That's what I was thinking last time we got a time traveler now we have Dimension Traveler and Infinite got the bosses when they were Sonic's main threat but they each beat him in there timelines Shadow "Sonic Adventure 2" Chaos"Sonic Adventure 1" Metal Sonic"Sonic CD" Zavok"Sonic lost world"
(Long theory) I feel the "last fist bump" will be after the Sonics and the Avatar defeat Infinite as the final boss. I have a theory that "could" happen: what if Infinite even as an Antagonist slowly learns throughout the game he has friends ie our Avatar attempting to fist bump him he the declines in that scene (we'll probably see what he looks like of course). Later near the end of the game he finally tries again, suddenly Eggman appears, Eggman senses betrayal from him, has a device to keep him in check, device breaks, Infinites powers goes beserk and is in pain (Eggman will either still be there or get knock out the way), turns into some monstrous form he can't control, the Sonics and Avatar goes super defeats Infinite, Infinite returns to his normal self then starts disappearing before he goes the Avatar gives the awaited "last fist bump" to him all content to have a friend disappears completely and the world is saved.
Kinu FoxySpirit damn that'd be a fine way to end the gamemakes him feel more fleshed if done right!

Splatoo Blemier You know, you could be right about the "pain" part but I had a theory that the mask he wears might be holding he's true infinite power, but that if he uses it, he could die from a lot of pain inside of him. P.S. he should be known as one of the most powerful video game character.

I think that Infinite is humiliating Sonic as he says: "But whats that I smell?" I think he would say something like "I smell fear". He is a Wolf after all, so he could smell something like this

Tim Braxton I would say that it is illusion based. I was wanting to explain that but I don't know how to say it but this takes the cake. eggman created him by using all the powers from all the other character and created a fusion. just like how we basicly create a God life fusion for a fan character. of course our character is not real but imagine if it is, he will destroy everything. I think the character we create has an important role to the story including infanite. since infanite resembles our over powerd characters and the custom character resembles our normal selves and eggman resembles our crazy imagination into creating something like infanite, I think that you as the costum character has to fix everything and is the key to balance everything including our creations. infanites power and himself is an illusion of eggmans creation and even ours, if we find a way to take it away, we can defite him becuase you as well is also an illusion and not a real person. I don't thinkni make sence here, it sounds better in my head

I'm just stating one thing, in that theme reveal, I noticed his eyes changed to green more than every other color, that's interesting (and on side note: if the comics were to get to a generations arc, they would've had the time eater and Mephiles be linked, also linking the gates, just an interesting fact)

I too think he has Illusion based abilities, this may explain why chaos is glitching out, as he's just an illusion and not the real chaos. Infinites appearance ma be illusionary as well, as you can see much smaller glitch like cubes around him in certain scenes
You could take every edgy character in existence and fuse them together and they still wouldn't be half as edgy as Infinite.

When you said "chaos has some sort of distortion" it made me thinking what if infinite or eggman created some clones of the villains, we really don't have any explanation on why chaos and zavock are there because we know zavock died in sonic lost world and chaos I dunno but if there is like a distorted effect like Infinite has then it could maybe lead to infinite able to create villains from the past or if you go back to that thing that looks like the time ring from sonic gen it seems like he could offer them something or eggman offered zavock and chaos to destroy sonic, also if he has a distorted effect yet again then it could mean eggman created a being that was created from time or space itself if so then maybe he can control time so he is faster than sonic if it works like that, that's all I got for theory's right now.

So what I think it is, is that Infinite has some kind of power over either over time or dimensions (or both) and that the other villains we see are alternate versions Infinite pulled from different times/realities. So the Shadow that is with them is a version of him before all the character development or who never turned good at all.
Chaos' "distortion" is just the refraction of Metal Sonic landing behind his translucent body.
1. I'm pretty sure Infinite was implying he smelt Sonics fear.2. As this is an early build of the game, I think Chaos's distortion and Shadow's eye being blank were bugs.3. This is an illusion is probably in reference to Sonics belief that good will always win, and Infinite saying that HE will win.

The shadow that helps infinate is probably from the sa2 timeline before turning good so that's most likely why he is on the villain side

Off-topic but do you think there'll be a in game shop in Forces? From gameplay you can get ALOT of rings from just 1 stage outside of boosting your score it'd make sense that there's a shop option to spend them on especially for our Avatar to buy new clothes and accessories and for the Sonics the Omochao skillshop from Generations it could be a selection since it seems like there's more to select through outsid World Map, Avatar and Mission.

what if infinite brought the shadow from the past when him and sonic were more head to head then lending a hand to one in other. kinda odd theory but eh. and what about him saying I smell something what if he's like is it fear then that leads to sonic say I'm not a scared I don't even know your name.
Chaos's 'corruption' happens the exact moment Metal Sonic passes by from behind him, it's literally the water texture refracting Metal Sonic's image through Chaos.

Okay I got a theory!
What if Infinite and the the custom hero are one and the same person and thanks to eggman they got seperated.
I imagine that eggman took over the world and the custom hero tried to defeat him with the help from Sonic but then the custom hero got kidnapped from eggman. And then he was thrown in a weird machine (like sonic in sonic unleashed) which released Infinite!
It would make sense due the sentence in his song: 'i was born in the pain'. It would also make sense because in the song infinite tries to make clear that there is a difference between him and the custom hero 'i never end, thats the difference between you and me' and 'you live a lie, thats the difference between you and me'.
If you also look closely in the cutscene where Sonic is entering in his ball form to attack Infinite, his model is out of place and he's not inside his ball form since he's not in the center
My thughts, and its probably been suggested before, Infinite is a self-aware character he knows he's a fictional character. There was a Deadpool comic arc where a new voice appeared in Deadpool's head that told him the only way he could finally have peace was to kill off the Marvel Universe, then all the alternate one, and finally the very concept of hero stories, going after Tom Sawyer and Sherlock Holmes. And Infinite in some scenes with that aura around him appears glitchy.

what if "This is an illusion" is referring to the villans, that explains how Chaos is back after he kinda died (same for Zavok), and it explains how Shadow is evil again.
(also sidenote, I think that's Shadow Fist bumping with Infinite)

I'm actually really curious about Infinite's mask. I wonder if it is something like Shadow's rings, keeping some of his true power at bay, but not voluntarily. Or on the reverse, is it the source of his power?
Something about the lines where he refers to his face really got me thinking. I think the mask is something that was forced into him involuntarily. In the song he refers to his face in a sort of angry or disgusted tone, "Just take a look at my face."
Though looking through the trailer again, he touches his mask *a lot*.If there is something on your face you don't like, I know I tend to scratch at it or adjust it, which is something a lot of people do. So I think the mask is bothering him in some way. This, along with a couple of lines from the song specifically talking about being in pain, I think the mask is hurting him in some way, and I believe the mask was forced onto him, and not a willing fashion accessory to up the edge.
What are your thoughts on the mask though? I'm super curious!

I prefer the idea that Infinite is some kind of super being born from chaos energy knowing terrible truths about the cosmos.

I pointed out Chaos. I didn't really say anything about Zavok, he's just sorta there.
1. the custom character wasn't fist bumping but pointing or he has 1 less finger then everybody else.
2. infinite didn't change but the custom character did.
3. Infinite knows sonic before sonic even knows him making it very clear that there is somthing between them with the addition that in the song its made very clear that this isn't the first fight.
4. silver is there and we know of a villain who can manipulate time and space.
5. the custom character in the trailer was a black rabbit.
I think the last black and white scene, the thing behind him reminds me of a tractor beam station from Sonic Colors
I have two theories, one for what Infinite is and one for why Shadow is a bad guy.
Infinite: I think that Infinite is some kind of interdimensional creature that Eggman somehow managed to bring into the Sonic universe and Eggman is using his power to fuel his machines and take over the world. In the classic stage of the demo, where Classic Sonic fights Eggman, Eggman calls Classic Sonic "a pint-sized Sonic from another dimension".
Shadow: Okay, I think that Shadow is either under mind control, which would be rather cliché, or is a double agent, secretly working with the Resistance to undermine Eggman.

Infinite is tails. More specifically he is an older war torn version of tails that has given into despair and has let himself become physically and mentally corrupted by the phantom ruby.
At 6:02 It looks like zavok switched places with sonic.cause zavok is where sonic would have fallen from infinite's attack

I just had a random thought... could Infinite be a fusion of the main heroes, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles? Maybe they fused in some alternate dimension, or he's a being created by a negative energy from the trio going super/hyper like in Mania? I'm basing this purely on his looks. It's fun to speculate!
what if infinite is aware of the fourth wall because ( aside from a few corny jokes from sonic ) has never been done before and lines like "this an illusion" and "So look around you and tell me what you really see! You live a lie and that's the difference in you and me!" Could hint that he knows he's not real and that may be his internal conflict and why he wants to destroy everything because he doesn't like being fake. My final peace of evidence is his glitching may indicate he's not supposed to exsist and his awareness of the fourth wall may be giving him power over everything else and why tails couldn't get a good reading on him

Infinite's new logo looks like an infinity symbol and a thumbtack, symbolizing that he's marked Sonic and his world for destruction. That's my theory at least.

Theory: Infinite has the ability to slow down time (example: Him dodging sonic), this can also lead to the factor of time. Infinite can't be faster sonic but slower than sonic If you know what I mean, sonic will over come this time freeze with a ring.
Also infinite is likely corrupted form of a fox created by eggman through abuse and captivity... this can explain why he listens to eggman, out of fear. Also I think his mask is to control his power having 'infinite' power, the custom character likely was a friend of infinite that protected him from eggman, but eggman forces infinite to kill him that's why when ever we see infinite looking for him he is alone, away.

also, i think, chaos is from another timeline, metal sonic want to kill sonic to be the real sonic, zavok want revenge (but lets be honestly, who cares about zavok) and shadow still being an gun agent, and hes infiltrate and he did not tell it to anyone because he thinks that tails will ramdomly say "but how did you knew that shadow its infiltrate?" and then infinite will say "because you just tell me little fox" and then infinite will kill shadow...expanding dongs is good for you ;)

Infinite seems to have a Yin-Yang theme going too. His ears have two different patterns (the white and black are reverse on the either ear) As well as his "Mane" and tailtip being more blackish while he fights Sonic, but white as he is in the fist bump scene.
I keep thinking that the custom character actually plays a lot into this as well, with it being the righteous, upstanding hero character that people could make, while Infinite represents a very typical, evil character that fans would make.
If so, he's probably actually some sort of creation and knows this (going full meta) hence why he can also get all previous enemies of Sonic around and wants to make a statement by destroying what he deems a fake world, because he himself knows he's not actually real, but a video game character.
But that's all I can say to that!

My theory is that Infinite is Mephiles.
Mephiles was a great villain but in a bad game. The game ended with him being erased from existence.
So, the Time Eater and other time-based anomalies might've weakened the boundaries of reality until something that was never supposed to exist can break through. I.e. Mephiles.
Thus he would take the name 'infinite' because he's already conquered the laws of reality that forbid his existence.
Since Iblis and Solaris are gone for good, only revenge drives Mephiles the Infinite now. I assume his only goal will be omnicide, leaving sonic for last.

I think that infinite is a 4th wall breaker villan. "You live a lie and thats the difference in you and me", like he knows that is in a game or something. The gliches that infinite has, could be that he can "manipulate" the game or is an error?. That could explain why this time you play as "yourself" (the custom character) and why its the counterpart to infinite.
Or maybe just its infinte, so he knows infinite possibilities, villans that survived in other timelines.
What if created "sonic boom" the outcome ot this game?
Some people say that Infinite is Mephiles. First have the same eyes like Mephiles. Second (what i forget it) on the final cutscene Shadow's story Mephiles use two Chaos Emerald to duplicate and The Emerald draw sign Infinity. I don't think it's quincidance, expecially with this sigh. Maybe Mephiles connected with Iblis survive and became Infinity. Mephiles want Shadow to join him to destroy the humanity. Maybe Infinite, well I don't wanna say mind control but maybe convince Shadow to join him. Mephiles also hated Sonic and want kill him (what he exaclly worked, but Sonic was resurgented) and Infinite feel hate to Sonic and wanna kill him too.
This was a good theory, but i don't want him to be a tragic sympathetic villain instead of a Purely Evil Demon.
I think that the shadow from this game is one of eggmans shadow droids.
