Debunking the Scariest Viral Ghost Videos of 2023

- And of course by "debunking" what I really mean is that we will watch the videos and attempt to find a rational explanation for what happened, since formally debunking a ghost video isn't always possible when it's only twenty seconds long and is incredibly grainy with no details to analyze, but the thing about CZcams is that titling your video "Attempting to find a rational explanation for ghost videos" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, while "Debunking ghost videos" gets the point across much quicker, so unfortunately we're just stuck with using shorthand language and you're just going to have to deal with it. Thanks for watching!

Not a paramedic but I'm an ER nurse, and I can tell you absolutely 100% it is not at all common practice to film transfers/transports/anything in a hospital. Why, you may ask? Because it's freaking illegal as all hell; blatant violation of HIPAA, the federal law that says patient information must be guarded at all times. If that video were legit, that dude would be fired at a minimum and could face 10 years in jail and a $100k fine if the court really wanted to make an example of him.
Also, I think that font is called 'cumic sans'
I dont think there was anyone in the stroller or whatever, they just put pillows and a blanket on it and called that a day. Also, the patient was sick, yet he couldn't even walk?
I lol'd so hard with the font name
Ye, anyone familiar with hippa law would very strongly agree with your statement. Lol
Same in the UK. Filming a patient without their consent will at the very minimum get you instantly fired. And as for then uploading it to the internet? That patient or their family, can sue you into another dimension.
ngl this doesn't look like a top of the line hospital anyway
The amount of respect I have for John Wolfe is immeasurable.

The amount of John Wolfe I have for respect is imperceptible

And he makes my day.
And he has fabulous hair
Paramedic here. No, we don't film transfers. Not only is it not common, it's illegal.
You need to show real physical EVIDENCE of the same hallways being filmed at the same time but with no grim reaper in it, or else it's the grim reaper.
-average paranormal believer
Yeah, my HIPPA alarm was going off, something that becomes permanently part of your thought process when working in the medical field. I was hoping that this footage was not submitted by a paramedic but by a family member or non-hospital personnel. Lawsuit bait.
After exposing major news events, just like Clues Forum does, the camera down during the 'money shot' is very typical.
I can confirm 2 things:
1) People online don’t even know what burden of proof means
2) 100% sure those are either the WORST trained officers or fake. And I’m going with fake/staged based on the lack of tactics.
yeah the guy didn't report to the other officer when the door moved and he didn't yell when he heard movement behind him
i don't even think it's a question
Considering recent events, I'd go with just incompetent police.
It does beg the question whether this means the video is illegal. It feels like people shouldn't be allowed to pose as police officers in a fake video purporting to be genuine.
@@mrdrayson9733 It’s not, there’s nothing inherently wrong with pretending to be of a certain profession in a video that has no immediate bearing on people’s lives. If that’s the case, then movies like Paranormal Activity would’ve never been allowed and the actors would’ve been arrested. Same with “Patty Mayo”. It’s all for “entertainment purposes” protected under the First Amendment. It’s beyond obvious that’s it’s fake.
I came to the comments hoping someone pointed out how mistaken some folks are about the burden of proof and find I am not disappointed. It is incumbent on those trying to demonstrate ghosts, ghoulies, and other supernatural things exist to provide proof, not those who do not believe them. Not believing is the default state and being skeptical about the veracity of fantastical events is a completely natural response.
I like how the defenders say "you're left to make up your own mind!" and yet they get incredibly mad when someone thinks it's fake. "you can have any horse as long as it's the black one" type energy
It's the same with anything, more recently of course the Vaccine. People always say " everyone is entitled to their opinion" but are quick to shut others down when it isn't the same as theirs lol
or like cults say "youre free to leave anytime" and the followers repeat that a bunch. fandoms have gotten culty nowadays!
They think the “interpretation” is supposed to be what kind of ghost you think it is
Them: You get to decide for yourself!
John: I decided it's fake.
Them: How dare you decide that on your own!
It's part of why I don't go near Nuke's unless somebody is ripping it apart for all the problems in it.
I can't believe there's an actual ghost in John's closet. This changes everything
I mean does it?
Hes needs someone to edit all his videos
And the ghost pays rent ahead of time
Explains so much though over the years
Makes sense seeing as I havent seen Guys in a while

Ghost believers: “I need facts, concrete proof, and statistics when you’re trying to debunk a viral ghost video.”
Also ghost believers: “A thing moved. Definitely a ghost.”
well one thing is for sure, i need more than snark to debunk a video.
@@GHMYahookaSo, you're going to believe that a thing for which no demonstration has been provided to prove its existence is the BEST candidate explanation, until someone demonstrates otherwise with something besides snark. That's not critical thinking, that's gullibility.
@@GHMYahookayou shouldn't need anything to not believe it. You should need a reason to think that a paranormal event is even a possibility as an answer to why a thing happened. We aren't even to that point yet for ANY of these videos to put "ghost" in the category of possible explanation. You are doing things backwards. The default should be, not real until proven true. Not, real until proven false.
They will trip over a dozen logical explanations on the way to saying it's ghosts.
@@midnightmalice4501innocent until proven guilty isnt the method for things like this, this isn’t a dichotomy situation as nothing is in science, it isn’t real or fake, it’s neither until it’s proven to be one. The dichotomy aspect of innocence and guilt only exists because the founding fathers needed to ensure that those under trial wouldn’t be treated as guilty unfairly, and jumping to the conclusion that videos like these are real or fake with 0 evidence is doing just that, treating them unfairly. Not saying these are real, they’re definitely fake, but my belief that they are is not the same as their objective fakeness
As a Retired Patrol Sgt. the "Cop" is 1. holding his flashlight where if he did shoot the slide would hit his hand. Gun hand OVER light is the correct way. 2. He didn't clear the room properly 3. He didn't tell his Partner about any of it, even odd things we talk about and then both of us would go there and look. I could keep going on and on but it is 100 Percent FAKE!!!
Isn't there a bunch of laws against pretending to be real cops?
Fiction is fiction, sure. But this was a """real"""" video, so their claims of being cops are equally real.
Thank you!!! Lol his flashlight hand being directly behind the slide of his gun was bugging me so much!!
He watched the door to the room open, then walked in and turned his back immediately to where the person who opened the door would have been! I'm no police officer but even I know that's about the dumbest thing you could do
Pretty sure the flashlight is being held wrong intentionally, probably to hide that the weapon is a toy or something. Like, even a child who has never seen a handgun before knows that the off-hand is used to steady the weapon.
I thought the same thing. Came looking for the comment, but added my own before I found yours.

@@roramoya was gonna say the exact same thing 😂😂😂
I want to steal, copy and paste this comment so bad. For the algorithm. LOL
Yeah? Name 7 of his videos without cheating
1. Body cameras don’t glitch like that.
2. Clearing rooms solo is a thing but you’d absolutely be calling for your partner as soon as you saw that door move. You’d also be going over the air letting your dispatcher know to “hold the air” (which means to stop all non emergency radio transmissions). That will also prompt other cars to start heading that way because they know you got something going on.
3. If he heard all that noise coming from behind him, his partner would hear it too and ask if he’s ok.
4. You would absolutely start turning that house over if they heard that much noise.
On top of that, while crossing your arms with flashlight in one hand and firearm in the other is a thing, generally the flashlight arm goes under the weapon to help provide a more stable shooting platform, as opposed to 34:19.3, where if the officer fired his left wrist would probably get tagged by the slide and potentially cause a jam.
Also, I'm fairly sure that the radio noise is a sound effect. Definitely sounds like it's from a video game or something.
Turning off the light in a ghost video is like telling the audience to close their eyes when you're performing a magic trick 😂
Only the Amazing Johnathan could get away with that.
It’s the same with the camera suddenly moving, like pointing down, up or to the side for a second. That’s plenty of time for someone to hide or move.
The burden of proof being demanded much higher on the criticism than on the ghost video making the claim is something I so hate, cause I also see it being done elsewhere constantly.
I see that especially in circles that talk about the Firmament
What do you expect? Those clips are being watched by a bunch of 10 year olds.
I hate to tell you this, but there are middle aged people watching them too. My dad is an avid ghost video watcher and he's in his late 50's. Some people just believe what they wanna believe, man. @@OHOHOHCOME
it's done very commonly by religious zealots too and it's super frustrating to me.
I think it's because it's killing people's buzz.
Like, you believe in ghosts and you see a video and it shows a ghost and the comments agree it's a ghost and you can't think of a reason it's not a ghost and oh my god a real ghost video we have a video of ghosts!
And then someone comes up and says 'that looks fake and here's how they did it' and that just ruins your emotional state, so now you get defensive and start to throw up impossible hurdles to prevent that person from ruining your fun because what you REALLY want is to be confirmed in your beliefs, not to critically judge the world around you.
But you don't want to admit it because that would mean you made an emotional call and not a factual one, which means that it could just be fake and someone played with your emotions for a laugh and now you feel like an idiot and we definitely can't have that so it's definitely that asshole's fault who made you think it might not be real.
Like John has mentioned in other videos, it's Confirmation Bias. If you believe in ghosts you're not going to harshly judge a video that confirms what you believe. You're going to let the people that tell you 'it's a ghost' walk into your head with the door open while you're boarding up the windows and closing the gates for anyone who says it's not.
Most clips are debunked in my mind by the simple fact that "Wow, sure was lucky you had your camera out and ready for SOME reason right before all the spooky stuff started."
Yeah. I’ve seen stuff that I can’t explain a few times in my life but the common factor was always that whatever it was that happened was over before I could really react. People having their cameras perfectly placed to catch all this in frame was always too convenient for me to buy the videos being legit.
@@glitchrr36 I can't even take out the camera fast enough to catch sudden everyday stuff, let alone spooky stuff XD
Yeah I remember seeing a supposedly real spooky video of a ghost peeking through a door. The guy caught it because he was recording the fucking hallway of his house or something and it was like one of those "he didn't notice at the time" type videos... I mean, sure, but why tf would you silently record a hallway in the dark in the first place? Nobody does that lol
@@glitchrr36 I have also had stuff happen that I couldn't explain. However, in those cases I reminded myself of the fact that I may be reasonably intelligent person, but there are many things I do not know or understand. In other words, the fact *I* don't know what happened, doesn't mean it is inexplicable. Maybe some expert or another has a perfectly logical explanation of it.
same. I always sit and wonder why was someone randomly recording their living room or basement or garage for no reason? or just happened to turn on their camera 10 seconds before a demon manifested to be a bit of a nuisance? it's just goofy.
I'm almost CERTAIN that sound that was added to the biker vid is the PS2 startup sound just pitched up super high lol

At my old apartment, the bedroom door would sometimes suddenly open or close on its own. I got scared and thought it was a ghost before I realized that it happened every time the AC turned off. The AC turning off caused a change in air pressure that opened and closed the door.
happens at my place too. i'll know when its about to happen because I can hear the ac turn off and on.
happens in my room too. but then there was this one time it opened so wide, held for a few seconds, and then closed back. we didn't even turn on/off the ac. scared the hell out of me and my cousin😭
Back when I was a Child, my TV would suddenly turn of by itself, or the "Standby Light" would flicker on and off - it scared the shit out of me..
Turned out the TV Light was just broken and now...with hindsight, maybe I just had the remote in bed or accidentally turned on the TV - or it was a freak technical issue.
My favorite part of these ghost videos with John isn’t the debunking (which is fun), it’s John openly and passionately advocating for rational thinking.
YES!!!!!🎉
It’s actually a breath of fresh air these days, we need more creators that are based in reality and not trying to scam their subscribers
Me too thanks.
Except for the fact he is wrong about youtubers not letting the viewers decide for themselves if the video is fake. No one is making anyone think that ghosts are real, anyone is welcome to debunk them. Some youtubers like Nuke like to add effects and footage for the creepy factor or as cues to point out the "ghosts", not to trick audiences obviously. Its fun to be spooked by things, even if fake. Its not the youtubers fault if someone takes them too seriously.
@@funnyman8713 I agree with you in the sense that I doubt any of these youtubers have malicious intent; most if not all of them are channels that are only trying to give people a fun scare, and the "investigative" approach helps set a fun mood.
But manipulating the "evidence" by adding effects without informing people you've done that, or using leading language like "X happened *inexplicably*", when there very well could be a simple explanation, ect. lends undeserved credence to a certain conclusion. It's not letting people decide fairly, which I'd argue is John's point.
And yes, it's fun to be spooked by the mysterious. It's also fun (imo more so) to solve that mystery.
The amount of respect I have for John Wolfe is immeasurable. He filmed a spooky ghost video home alone all by himself with nobody behind the door, and then debunked himself! What a chadwick.
Sometimes when you stare into the Abyss, John Wolfe stares back.

Chad Wick: 4 is the best one.
You call that Debunking?! He didnt provide any evidence that the video he shot was fake!
ive never seen cops clear a home and not yell "(police department name) make yourself known" im pretty sure that they have to say their department name
The glitches in the cop one seemed like artistic choices haha, it very much seems like a horror short.
more so when you look at the timestamp at the top right XD it shows that he stood there for a few good seconds more then just sweeping from side to side checking the room should have taken when it "glitch" clears ..... enough for someone to quickly slip out of the room from behind the door
Wow, I had no idea John has been living in a haunted house this whole time. The amount of respect I have for him is immeasurable.
Mate, no matter how much proof you show in your debunks, there will always be ghost-hunting fanboys/fangirls saying you've debunked nothing. I get this ALL THE TIME. You're doing so great. Love your videos
To be fair, as an avid watched of all these ghost channels, I dont think anyone is 100% believing everything, sometimes its just fun to suspend your disbelief and watch the weird stuff. Even the channel creators acknowledge it may be fake
LOVE YOURE VIDEOSSSSSS
it really goes both way
say these were actually real
they're never going to be able to prove that they actually were home alone or that they didn't fake a camera cutting out/dying or something
and if they walked around turning every corner to try, skeptics will always have an excuse to debunk ("they must be REALLY good at editing those cuts" or "okay, but you didn't show inside that one tiny cabinet in the corner that could have a false wall" or something idk)
(not speaking for the ones with stock sounds and clear jump cuts, of course. sometimes fake is just fake lol)

I was kind of surprised to find out how vicious and defensive fans of ghost hunting videos are. So many of them act like anyone saying “that’s fake” is a personal attack on them. I love your content and how you go about debunking videos. I also think your funny. So take that haters.
I definitely think ghost shit is fake, but I also think that people who don't believe in ghosts (myself included) are much more judgmental of people who do than vice versa, and that the hostile response from believers is just reactionary, them parroting what they've had to deal with.
Granted, I also totally think they are delusional and deserve the ire, so...
I think part of it is that for a lot of ghost shit to be scary, you have to believe it's real. To then be told that it's actually fake means that part of yourself needs to admit you've been fooled. But how could you have been fooled? You're too smart to be fooled so the person debunking is actually the fool. It's the same with politics and information. People just don't like to be wrong.
As an aside I don't think that paranormal events can't happen. Just, it's convenient that almost all caught on camera events seem to be as someone is recording. My experience with unknown events (things randomly flying across the room, lights turning on by themselves...) is that you don't know when it's going to happen. There is no patern. It just happens.
@@michaelmiradezandbandi wouldn't say thats true personally. The people who believe this stuff are more hostile. And on top of that naive AND delusional
@@CallMeMitochondriastuff like this is spiritual in a sense so if they truly believe in it, telling them it's not real feels like a slap to the face to what they believe they've seen or experienced. I have to say your ghost hunting/debunking videos have to be some of my most favourite types of videos you make John. Especially as someone who has zero clue about video editing, it's always interesting to hear how it's done. Keep this up!
John, you could make a 5 hour documentary about toasters and I would watch the whole video in one sitting. It’s not just your content, it’s your energy and what you have to say that makes me love your content so much.
It’s obvious how much time and effort goes into these videos 🙌🏼 the respect I have for John Wolfe is immeasurable
You say that like toasters aren’t already cool.
He should do a video on the Satanic Toaster
Just watch the magic toaster
agreed!
The other thing that strikes me about the cop footage (along with the thousand things already mentioned) is the fact that the cop doesn't IMMEDIATELY check behind the door as soon as he enters each room. A cop is going to be looking for immediate threats, and in this case that would logically be behind the door since the door MOVED.
Right like searching/securing a room 101 is LOOK behind the door.
Plus if you watch body cam footage, the angle is so weird. Normally if you see a cop aiming it almost takes up the whole screen, but with this its more like an FPS where the hands are super low. It's got the water mark good and the terrible audio, but I've never ever seen glitches even remotely close to that. Plus like John said, can you imagine hearing that behind you and not only ignoring it by only turning around and not yelling....but then continuing not to investigate and go back downstairs like "Were good" when its a god damn burglary you're investigating, and you just heard heavy footsteps upstairs. He's 100% not a cop and if he somehow was he's fired day 2.
THANK YOU I was looking for a comment about this!! If they were looking for a home intruder and just saw the door opening with no one in sight, the first place they'd check would be behind the door! The movements are so slow, truly like some videogames haha
@@DetectiveJones This is exactly what I was gonna say. I've watched a lot of bodycam vid, this is fake af. The camera is perfectly aimed, the flashlight is pointed directly ahead--real bodycam footage doesn't look like this, police would be scanning the entire room, the light would be sweeping all over the place. You're absolutely right, it looks like an FPS haha.
@@DetectiveJones The watermark is the bare minimum. There would be a transparent watermark of the department which would contain the relevent case/report number and release information (IE: Released due to court order no: xx-xxxxxx or request no: xx-xxxxxx for example). These would all be burned into the bodycam footage before it was released. It's severely lacking in information for it to be genuine footage. The only time "clean" bodycam footage is played is generally in court, everything else has all of that information so it's provenance cannot be removed and it's authenticity can be established by cross referencing the report as well as the release information.
Also you can just buy a an Axios 2 or a knockoff that'll put the bare minimum watermark on the footage.
I know this is a newer thing your doing on the channel but considering there's soooooo many videos you can react to like this you should make this a consistent new like segment. Most entertaining thing I've watched in a while

Keeping Ghosts in your Closet is Ghost Abuse. It's not a proper habitat with adequate space, and they need enrichment, too!

These debunking videos really pick at the heart of the issue in our society, which is media literacy. (or lack there of). People will believe anything without any sort of critical thinking or analysis. With the increase of AI usage, it's getting worse. I love the new direction of this channel and the new gaming channel. Much respect.

It’s less that they’re stupid and more like they want it to be true. They’ve attached their egos to something being the truth and interpret any information contradicting it as an attack on themselves.
Basically, it’s an emotional problem and not a matter of intelligence.
These are my favorite type of videos from John!!! I need more!!
dude i freaking love these videos. would love to see another long one tysm
The one with the police officers has so many tell tale signs:
1. Real Axon body cameras have significant fish eye. All the walls around him would have a concave curve.
2. A body camera is mounted on the chest or on one of the shoulders. If it's on the chest, whenever the officer's arms extend out, they would show up on the upper half of the screen and take up much more of the screen. If it were mounted to one of his shoulders, the footage would not be anywhere near as centered.
3. The camera follows the flashlight as if it's mounted to his forehead. If you want to look around, you tilt your head. You don't move your entire torso around.
4. The "officer" holds his flashlight improperly. He has his flashlight above his right wrist. That puts his left wrist behind the gun. If he were to take a shot, the slide on the gun would slam into his left wrist probably causing a malfunction. It's almost like the person has never shot a gun before. Although, could be argued that the officer was improperly trained.
5. Police issued flashlights usually aren't that weak and have a different beam pattern. Most duty grade flashlights have a very bright center with small bit of spill. The flashlight they're using is just one solid beam of light. Maybe their department is experiencing budget cuts and handing out Walmart brand flashlights to all its officers.
I agree with you that the video is fake to start with, however I do have to say one thing, some departments do have head level cameras, typically mounted on glasses.
There is a large number of tells, John is correct, the officer would be loudly ordering the people come out and calling for his partner, if he's nervous enough to pull his gun he wants backup.
A cop also isn't going to hear a large amount of movement like that and not investigate. They are there on a potential intruder, he's not going to turn his back to all that rukus.
The other thing I noticed is that there's next to no radio chatter. And I'm not saying there needs to be a ton but it seems like its a slow night. And also our two police officers don't provide status updates via the radio. "Hey officer B I've got a door opening up on the second floor." "Roger that on my way." No police officer would see that and not alert their partner.
Axon body cameras also beep every so often and have a lot of information around the edges of the screen, and officers don’t just announce “police!”
It's weird that I think some of the radio noise sounds really familiar from some of the games I've played, tho that could just be because the audio was taken from a radio. But there's a lot of instances in the original video where it sounds like something was transmitted, but there just isn't anything said. It's just the radio cutting out sound.
John, I am so sorry that after watching so many videos about ghosts and demons you've finally invited one into your home. That closet footage was terrifying, and I hope you stay safe friend. and the fact that you were home alone? They love to strike when we're at our most vulnerable. @@nikdean4950 yeah, I was being sarcastic lol. I've often been accused of being "Too dry", so I don't balme you for misreading me lol
I'd also like to point out that the defenders of Nuke are wrong when they claim "he leaves it up to the viewers to decide," as if it were that simple. He can SAY the words "I'll leave it up for you to decide," but he tries his absolute hardest to paint every clip as if it's real. He doesn't just put scary music and sounds over the videos that weren't originally there, he also consistently describes the events of the video as "absolutely chilling" or "downright terrifying" or whatever. And when he ends the clip by saying "is it real, or is it all just an elaborate hoax?" he's poisoning the well with the phrasing of that question. The use of the word "elaborate" entails that it would all just be so crazy and complicated to fake it, which is an attempt to frame the supernatural explanation as more likely. And it's just a false dichotomy to portray it that way anyway; he makes it sound like the ONLY two possible explanations are that it's 100% real, or some kind of painstakingly planned fraud, and those are certainly not the only options on the table.
Personally, I think that people feel dumb for believing something was real when given a few reasons to the contrary. They then feel angry towards the person who said it’s not real so that person gets the blame instead of the original person who duped them.
The amount of immeasurability I have for Wolf Johne is respectable.
That really says a lot lol
😅😅
One time, as a small child, me and my mother came home and we found the door unlocked (she forgot to lock it) at the time she had me wait outside as she went through our house with a heavy object and checked every crevice because she didn’t know if anyone was in our home.
To add to this, I don’t think my mom would just shine a light and be like “hope there isn’t anyone scary in your closet tonight sweetie”
Immeasurably. I am quite a fan of John and all he does.
Im pretty forgetful so sometimes i forget to lock my door and sometimes forget to close it at all, and its a whole event when i get home it drives my girlfriend crazy but i check anywhere a human could conceivably fit ( including laundry machines and cabinets) . i know a lot of that is just paranoia but i could not imagine being so far in the other direction that i just said to my GF that there might be someone in the house and just have us go about our day.
I remember this. I had been inside, hiding, waiting for your mother. I had not expected you to be there as well. I slipped out at my first opportunity.
Loved the clapback mate … you’re awesome and really do enjoy your vids.
Thank you and pls don’t ever stop being you
My wife is a senior hospital-based physician, I don't know about America but filming patients being transferred in a hospital in Scotland is most certainly illegal. Especially if the filming is done by a member of staff, the patient's anonymity is paramount.
the amount of ghosts john wolfe has is immeasurably respectful
Wow, powerful stuff, we should all be commenting like this!
Yo, are you still stompin' around Tokyo city like a big playground?
That guy with the bear picture getting burned XD
I love the lack of communication between the officers, not calling it in, not requesting backup, not asking the homeowner for a layout of the home, splitting up instead of clearing together methodically room by room.
No officer would just walk quietly into a room where he just saw door movement. He would yell out, ID himself, demand the unidentified person ID himself and get the other officer
Yea, what really gave it away was the fake walkie-talkie sound effect that sounds like it came from a scanner.
Also, why is their gun/hand blurred? Is that so we can't identify a fake gun?
The way the officer is holding his gun and flashlight is a very hollywood posture, too. I'm pretty sure real police would use the flashlight hand to stabilize their sidearm from below, not have it above.
@@sidradYou don't stabilize your gun with your wrist, you aren't stabilizing anything doing that. That's just hollywood thinking it served as a stabilizer or that it looked cool- in reality it's most likely to ensure that, in the case of using a flashlight, the flashlight is shining where the gun is pointing. In the video I'm pretty sure the gun is resting on top of the wrist but the blurr is giving the impression that the wrist is resting on the gun (which would be arguably worse LMAO)
im so glad i watched this video tonight because you said "VOD" and it reminded me that i have an assignment for uni that i needed to watch a video for and it's due in an hour 🙏🙏🙏

I absolutely love how you debunk a lot of stuff..I always liked watching all these CZcams ghost hunting videos, but now I like watching them with a lot more skepticism and trying to debunk a lot of the "paranormal " evidence so thank you for opening my eyes to the bullsh*t they try to feed everyone
The amount of respect I have for John Wolfe is immesurable.
(I want to see my family again)
-Blink twice if he's holding a gun to your head-
The amount of respect I have for John Wolfe is immeasurable for not allowing you to see your family again.
Someone is going to need to explain to me why ghosts only ever wiggle light fixtures and menacingly open cabinets before I'll ever believe these people.
And they don't ever do it around people who don't believe in ghosts. They know their audience
for the lulz
I've always said, if ghosts are humans and intelligent. Why do they just open doors and flicker lights. It's hilarious bringing it up always makes em mad.
I don't believe in it but as a kid I used to watch these shows where people would talk about their paranormal experiences and the show would "explain" what and why the ghost would do that. Apparently ghosts are spiritual beings that haven't made it to the afterlife yet because they have some unfinished business on earth (be it revenge, anger what have you, mostly evil people that don't want to let go). So they stay on earth until they resolve their shit. But these spirits aren't as connected to the physical world anymore which means they have to use alot of strength and power to even influence anything, so that's why it's only small things like gusts of wind or falling objects. The stronger a being is, the more they can influence so that's why poltergeists and demons do so much shit. And of course demons are powered by Satan or something. But that would "explain" why you can't have a normal conversation with a ghost on a ouija board. Only when they have something really important to say.
It's because ghosts are notorious pranksters.
35:05
(i don't know any of this as a fact so if anyone wants to back it up feel free to do so)
a real police officer would likely also instantly report the movement of the door so that another officer is prepared to back him up and they would almost definitely yell if they saw/heard someone in the house
cant imagine the kind of incompetent officer who wouldnt call his partner to investigate a noise he just heard or even check all the rooms of a house
John debunking paranormal clips with the power of critical thinking and objective reason is hurting feelings and crushing dreams like when kids find out about Santa 😭😂
Right. Thats why the paranormal believers are REALLY mad. He is changing everything they thought they knew
Wait, what about Santa?
@@johntucker6252 sorry but…. He’s not real :[
Santa's...not real? 😢
Lol for real. But also, I'd bet money that most people who cried about it were actual kids. I mean... hey, I loved ghost shows when I was a kid too 😂
honestly we need more stuff like this out there on the platform, john. the reactions of those people trying to put the burden of proof on you (or others) who have no reason to need to prove anything is such an obvious sign of the media literacy problem that exists at large. you demonstrate so well in these videos HOW to become more media literate and how to question things in an effective way.. these people want to believe things just because they /want/ to believe them, not because they're basing anything in logic or critical thinking, and hear what they want to hear because their opinion is all that matters to them. anyways, the respect i have for john wolfe is immeasurable. i've watched your videos for the last ~8 years and you've been one of my favorites, and one who i respect very much. i hope all your viewers really do take your sign off seriously, because critical thinking is important and grossly underused by a huge chunk of society.
When you say you’ve debunked something, then yes, the burden of proof falls on you to provide evidence it is, in fact, debunked.
@@alkeenan7906 I hate to break it to you, but since ghosts don't exist, no, the burden of proof is still on the people saying something is haunted lol, not the person debunking it.
In the context of this video, John did exactly that. But, I get where you're coming from even if I disagree outside of a scientific context. I just believe people should think for themselves, prove to themselves whether or not something is true with critical thinking, logic, and their own research, not expect someone else to do it for them. The burden of proof should fall on no one, because we should all learn how to analyze things for ourselves.. and analysis isn't watching edited clips on youtube to circlejerk about how "ghosts are real". John's point has always been "think critically" and he showed by a lot of those comments that plenty of people don't. They believe what they want to believe no matter what, no application of logic or reason in their thought process.
Given that ghosts cannot be proven real or fake because they are a concept and not an actual, material thing (much like dieties, astrology, or what happens to things when they are not being observed - the only "proof" they don't exist is the use of logic and what is a more likely scientific explanation for certain phenomenon or worldviews), it is unreasonable to expect proof from someone who quite literally cannot give it being that there is no such thing as proof of ghosts since there is no way to scientifically test or quantify the existence of a "ghost". He can provide proof such as "here's signs the video was doctored" or "this was a stock audio sound", but this proof never seems to be "proof" enough.. These people want proof of something unproveable, and just because something is unprovable does not prove it exists. "Prove it's not!" is not a scientifically sound argument, and the proof for such a claim falls on the claimant, not their audience. Any claim can be unproveable if you make it ridiculous enough. No scientist can make an unscientific claim and be seen as anything other than a joke by people doing actual science - proving actual, recordable, repeatably testable theories. If you make an unscientific, untestable claim, it's not on the world to prove your idea is logical, it's on you to prove why your hypothesis holds any water at all.

22:35 I used to have a doorbell that went off when nobody was there all the time. I mentioned it to my neighbor a few doors down and they said theirs did the same. Turned out we both had the same wireless doorbell so whenever someone would ring one of ours, they'd both ring. Or I guess it might've been ghosts.
I saw the same thing happen once with garage door openers... two relatively close together garage door openers just happened to be keyed to the same frequency from the same manufacturer. Because there are only so many that they can use to begin with.

I'm a med student, not a paramedic. But even a CNA or member of housekeeping staff could tell you that there's no way you'd be able to not only film patients on a personal device, let alone post it to CZcams. When I was a CNA/TMA if I so much as thought about looking at my phone my supervising RN or DON were automatically summoned from their pocket dimension(s) to deliver a lecture.
YES. I glanced at my phone as I was getting off the elevator one day and an RN saw me and I got written up. Like when I say glanced, I mean I literally looked down at it and put it back in my pocket. There's no way someone was recording a patient without getting in trouble.

For the Ding Dong Ditched one, the idea that she's just chatting with her boyfriend on speakerphone outside her front door at night is just insane. Who does that? How is that even a plausible premise?
I love how you not only say how easy it is to fake, but then just do it. You're amazing, John.
The conversation is really stupid too, it’s so obvious that it’s acting. Then the door “slams shut and locks” and all she can say it “dude the door just slammed shut… and it’s locked!” And there’s no urgency or concern that maybe someone is in her house? And then she LEAVES THE PHONE DOWN? People are very gullible.
I thought she was letting the dog out honestly so this caught me off guard. Also I remember laughing at the hair pulling clip bc her dog is staring at whoever did it off cam beforehand 😹
@@Nenernener123 YES! I forgot to mention how funny it is that the dog looks over at the person faking the hair pull. It's so funny that they left that in. I like to imagine they did a bunch of takes and eventually said "Screw it. We'll leave it in. Nobody will notice." (Though sad reality is probably they didn't even notice.)
Yeah if that was real then those people are fucking robots with the way their conversation was going down. That guy sounded like he couldn't even take himself seriously
I didn't think about how stupid that was at first lol. The *only* plausible explanation would be that she gets bad cell service inside vs right outside (happens to tons of people I know at least).
But then......why call in the middle of the night? And wifi calling exists nowadays. Also if you're going to stand outside in the middle of the night on the phone, why not take your dog out with you lmao?

I love your videos! They make me laugh!
Also, more frigging, flipping, "Pack of plastic spoons!"
The police one also had interesting dialogue: “Is it okay if we search the house?”. If there is a crime being suspected then they wouldn’t even need to ask.
No sir
I think they still need a warrant/ need to ask for permission.
@@jackalexander3973 fortunately no. If you believe someone has broken inside your home and you call the police, you don’t need them to wait to get a warrant to act.
@@jackalexander3973 Nope. If they believe (or can convince a judge afterwards) that there is imminent threat to someone's life or an active crime being committed, police are allowed to enter premises or search premises without permission. It's called probable cause.
For example, if a cop pulls you over and suspects you of being intoxicated, they are allowed to search the car without permission to find out if you have drugs or alcohol. If they get a call that a person has or is suspected of going to harm themselves, a cop can just enter your house without permission because they are under the impression they are entering to save your life.
There’s nothing about that clip that leads one to think actual officers are involved. Working for a LEA, the big one for me is you never hear a radio/never hear anyone talking on a radio.

Also I gotta say the officer video is clearly someone's prized 'analog horror' editing project. The hidden cuts are well done, but like you said, the police actors are not believable because they're not acting how actual cops would.
Yeah, the cops they looked half decent right before using some police callouts but pulling the guns, for no reason is completely against code
also to add to this they were holding their flashlight and gun all wrong.
Also, the fact that they weren't properly clearing each room. Like yeah, let's not immediately look behind a door that just swung open. It's not like a suspect could be armed and hiding behind it smh
