Gorgeous. Also, Dustin's guitar playing is just so beautiful. This box compliments it perfectly.

Wow, thank you so much Tom! It's an incredibly inspiring piece of gear. We're all blown away by it here at VK.

It is a great option for people looking into tape echoes. However, you are looking for something that sounds like a 501/201, you have to buy a 501/201. I think this is what Roland wanted their echoes to sound like but the technology was just not around at the time.

-How exactly would you hook this up for use with ssl six? Would I hook up via stereo cue sends and being the output is not stereo just hard pan the send? I'm sorry if I've got this all wrong, just wondering.

I see there are three different colors on your site, are they all the same except for the color?

Why does this unit sound so digital in all the demos I’ve heard. Weird.

Thanks for checking out the demo! It does feature digital reverb (as well as spring) and digital chorus. Keep in mind, this is brand spanking new tape. I'm not sure what you mean by digital but over time, it will surely wear out and thus naturally taper off some of the shimmer along with adding some natural wow and flutter that is typical to a 40 year old RE-201 with well worn in tape. I can say that if I sent my original RE-201 to Echofix for service, it would come back sounding almost exactly this the EF-X2 but still with inferior preamps, shorter delay time, no CV control, more noise, etc... - Dustin

Maybe because people don’t know what a well maintained tape echo actually sounds like. It’s not dark and murky like a lot of the emulations.
