- Let's be honest: Who hasn't drooled over one of those super-delays in stereo before? It is an exceptional experience to be in the room when Kris tries the most expensive delays at Thomann at the moment.

The Volante is my favorite pedal. It will never leave my board.
The reaction to the Strymon tells you everything, this is the video that made me buy mine. Next week I get it.
Hey there, love the videos! I'm trying to find a sound level meter, what is that meter you use in the background? the one with the green readout. and is there some special mic you placed somewhere connected to it?
I think the real comparison is with your budget.
These ALL sound fabulous!
All sound good, but that Volante is just wow!
Right?
I saw you close your eyes when you play the Collider... and you smile with the Echo Fix (impressive one) mmm... a good sign indeed... :-)
Listening to different extra highend delays demos on youtube, only Volante sticks out for me. So, Im saveing to get one in future.
Amazing tones and video!!! I swear when kris was playing using the volante, I heard London Grammer around 4:26 the Bm/A/E
Thanks a lot Riley!! I'm super happy with the sounds in this video (kudos to my buddy Phi,l who edited the video). It was a very inspiring recoding session and I think it's our best sounding video on the channel yet.
Ohh btw at 4:26 I was more in a Wicked Game kinda mood. But you're actually right, it does have some London Grammar vibes too. :)
//cheers, Kris
Thomann's Guitars & Basses thank you for answering Kris!! I’m so happy that you are inspired in the video, which you can tell when watching
I have a Volante on my board and that thing is never coming off. Everything just sounds better through it and it's so simple but inspiring I find myself getting lost playing.
Got the volante when it came out - there's no turning back!
I have a Volante, but the specular tempus sounded closesed to the real tape, at least to my ears. Wow, thanks!
I have to agree. It may not have all the head options of the Volante but some of its reverb modes even destroy the Empress Reverb and the Echosystem can't even ping pong in tape mode. ST is crazy good value.
Well I like the Specular Tempissed name-wise myself. :) I think I have to go with Strymon Volante but a close second is the Collider. What is tough to pick out as well is your playing. I try to listen to the pedals and find myself saying I like the little ditti you are playing best on one or the other then it's back up. Listen to the pedal!!! Rinse and repeat.
One thing I have found myself doing lately is getting back to the basics. I think non-scientific is the best as it is closer to what is done in the real world. Too many perfect amps and guitars that the every day Joe doesn't have and never will. Back to a basic thought like the trinity, Strat, Tele, LP and find myself thinking the same for pedals. Reverb, delay and Tube Screamer. Getting rid of all the gadgetry of modeling and back to the basics. It was good enough back in the day right!? So GET OFF MY GRASS!!!
Sincerely yours,
Boomer
haha! Thanks for your words Steve! Yeah, I love simple setups too. Just give me an overdrive and a delay (or a reverb) and I'm happy for the rest of the day. :)
It's fun to have ALL the effects and sounds but there truly is magic in getting the most out of a very limited rig.
//cheers man, Kris
Sound sounds sound like I need a pair Eventide tide editnevE H9000’s and that collider just to be safe safe sa fe
Yeah the Volante for me too. Tiny bit of shimmer in there somewhere perhaps?
Yeah, I heard some as well, perhaps just a touch of modulation to give it some more wavering body and that "halo effect" Andy Timmons talks about all the time. They're all awesome indeed. The GFI sounded somehow the least effected tone to me, just more straight ahead delay....Yup...I'll gladly take them all! :D
Yeah, and some warping / swimming effect too. They really made it sound unique.
//cheers, Kris
Seems like for the comparisons the mix on the Volante was higher, which is probably why people are more impressed with it.
But can any of them ping pong 2000ms in tape mode?
I cannot decide which sounds better
Echosystem for me
Thank god in the direct comparison the Volante wins for me ... since I have one, my wallet is congratulating my ears ☺️
Volante all the way!
🙋♂️🎸🎵🎶
Echo fix
It's pure mono for a time based effect so a big no from here.

//ciao, Kris
You should play at least one common riff for all pedals so that the viewer gets the differences.
Thanks for the advice. You did watch the video though, right? There's a comparison in there where I play the same lick.
