Seeing a card like Benten go from nearly being unknown by anyone to seemingly broken, makes me love Yu-Gi-Oh for not having set rotation even more.
Benten is more well known than you think. However it's like Black Rose Dragon. No one knows what it's other effect is.

@@juanig4198 yes but technically no, because the cards you use will go to grave and you can still use them. The graveyard is essentially your second hand and you got a free search because the drytron cards can bring themselves back so no it doesn’t really require two cards. Its a straight up plus one each time you use it
@@MaliEndz no that wasnt the point i was making, what i meant is that you have to get a drytron(and one that works with the cards you already have) and bebthen to do that, while with engage you only need that one card because the draw effect work withany spell

Not to burst your bubble but i used draitron without benten for a long time before they realised they're good and draitrons still kicked ass

Drytron also has access to the turn skip pseudo FTK uesing Amorphactor Pain and Thunder of Ruler/Parthian Shot.
I think amorphactor pain is still fair however since it isn't searchable by benten or prep so you have to sacrifice alpha's search and you need to tribute two drytrons because of its higher attack amd you either need to find a way to get a normal and a trap card or a continuous spell(duel terminal) so there's more hoops to jump through.
At that point, you might as well play a zexal or vfd deck if you want to force your opponent to pass.
Well, that whole combo is kinda hard to pull off and it loses to a single hand trap

You know what. I like this deck, designs are cool and it's my favourite ritual deck already. Rituals deserve this. Good on them
Benten is not even close to ban worthy, yes she’s a very good card but the deck in itself isn’t even close to oppressive like we’ve seen in the past. Yes it’s an incredibly powerful strategy but the ban hammer is a little over the top.

I like drytron.
Rituals has been My fav mechanic, and things like herald Arent that abusiv as they wont have 10 faries in the hand.
eva + a fairy discard eva search 2 more fairies , 4 negates
They said we would be seeing more rogue tops this format that can actually do something against the top decks.
With Drytron, VW, Dogmatica and Zoo running around, I highly doubt that.

@@hypeplayz467 You could play the handtraps everyone else is recommending just in case you go second. But you don’t have to rely on rng for dweller as long as you can make a rank 4 (also called by grave doesn’t work on him). Played against a couple of drytron deck and they couldn’t do squat if I went first with dweller. The most they could do was just play a couple of link 1’s and put a few bodies on board.
Or side in ally of justice cycle reader, literally double d.d. crow for lights.

So Drytron are basically basically enablers for shenanigans like what Nekroz were doing. Seems like most of their loops and combos come from older ritual archetypes that were designed in an environment where Drytron wouldn't exist. The Cyber Angels are a prime example of this.
I've been learning how to use this deck. But since I'm a casual player I've been testing different builds. The one I'm currently trying out uses the upgraded versions of Demise and Ruin. I'm also teching in Dragoon. I know that gives me some bricks but getting Demise, Ruin, and Dragoon on the field at the same time and using Demise's effect is so satisfying. Great video BladeYGO.

The problem with Rituals is that they are horrible but once they get the right support, they suddenly go broken and meta (Nekroz and Drytron)

not really, the reason drytron runs 1 vanity is because its searchable by benten, im not a big fan of stun cards, but i feel the fiends are mostly okay since they arent searchable (or they shouldnt be *coff coff*) and they require tributes, so they are potential bricks that take advantage away facilitating comeback if you are able to deal with them

@@guythat779 i mean, i feel like that would be the equivalent of banning cannon soldier when pre erratum firewall is in the game, vanity's is far from broken by itself and if benten went to 1 that would solve it almost entirely, whereas if vanity's gets ban drytron would just double down on summoning a 5-6 negate herald of ultimateness.

Union carrier is the problem card Damnit
I hope Benten won’t get banned as this is the third format that union carrier is the problem card. Without carrier the deck can be stopped by a ghost belle or ash and it would be a much healthier going second deck then dinosaur.
Honestly, I think the main problem card for the deck is Vanity’s Ruler, not Benten. It’s a super-tight floodgate that’s easy enough to get out in this deck since you can just tribute 2 Drytrons for it. Benten’s other search options aren’t nearly as fast as most of them either are ritual monsters or require a minus (Heralds). My simplified suggestion is to ban the trouble card instead of the enabler for it.
You could play three retaliating “C” which can be special summoned from hand when your opponent uses a spell card to summon a monster it is an onboard macro and if they out him he will search contact “C” which you can summon to your opponents board and if they haven’t union carriered yet it will lock them out of it
But that would require decks to run garbage.
by the time the spell gets used to ritual summon the drytons inherent summons and the tributing of benten should have already put herald of orange light into play to negate a hand trap , also can't you just tribute summon over that ?
@@Marcusjnmc it doesn’t stop them from playing the game yes, but if they don’t out the retaliating and like most people wouldn’t expect it, I have been playing against drytron players and most of the time I see them activate nova early combo or ritual mid combo, to be able to reach their end board and retaliating works really well for me personally now is it the best hand trap no nibiru and droll and a lot of hand traps are great against drytron so it really depends on your opponent, that’s why I keep in my side deck 3 retaliating and one contact, so in high competitive play their not crazy but at regional level it would get the jump on people is my opinion not really a fact
@@fallenonix8532 it might be ok now but as time goes on & more people just learn to get orange light access into their combo lines as much as possible both it & nibiru will get progressively worse vs dryton players.

What I like about this deck, it actually captures the feel of performing a ritual. You have to abstain from summoning certain monsters, but if you adhere, you get a consistent engine to ritual summon under protection.
What I don’t like about the deck. NEGATES ARE BORING.
That’s my take in a nutshell.

I'd argue that lunalight without tiger cannot function period.
You can go for a bad otk build but it's not even the same deck luna was before the hit, even though most of the cards might be the same

Imo Droll is better against this deck than Dark Ruler or Droplets
Dark ruler: I basically survive the turn with a chance of grinding my way back up with resources in the GY the following turn.
Droplets: you stopped my end board but now you have to deal with 2 or more negations in the form of orange light + Eva in hand after discarding your resources to out herald, vanities ruler, and potential mirage light alongside the 2 if I opened full combo.
The love/hate with YGO: People saying hard OPT would be best, but I am like Konami does this on purpose why you care?
Benten was never abused before until now and isn't hard OPT its cause Konami is like let's release a nice archetype that might be cool, but Benten eventually could happen
smoke grenade of the thief wasnt abused before either, i dont think benten is broken right now, but cards that give advantage without HOPT are timebombs, just waiting for the right support to be busted.
Let's not forget block dragon was the exact situation until one archetype came out...

@@sammydray5919 Yes and no, i agree, benten is not specially broken right now, but i do think that if the time comes to hit drytron, benten at 1 might be the best way to hit the deck without making it unplayable, it turns every even 0 the deck has into a +1 and makes it so you can effectively search vanity's ruler with alpha. with benten at 1 they can still reuse it by adding it back with phul and you know, actually ritual summoning it.

The level of my fear of Benten getting banned: Tele-DAD format level.
Tiger can be used like 3x per turn, putting at 1 does absolutely nothing. Benten at 1 is fine, you can't loop it that many times and usually, players are searching benten of benten. Limiting it to 1 would make it a lot more balanced. Let the ritual deck be somewhat meta relevant
I think we have another Semi-Limit contender.
My brother used Benten in his Herald of perfection deck, so if it’s banned I will be fine with it. And if they try to hit herald of perfection then I would love to stop his multiple negates with one card
I feel grisaille prison will become meta relevant again soon.
Benten is an absolutely insane card, but so is natasha. It's crazy to think how generically good so many ritual cards are.
Don’t forget about Amorphactor Pain. Drytrons can have access to a card that skips your opponent’s main phase and blanks most extra deck monsters.

Banning Benten would kill dedicated pure Cyber Angel decks. Limiting Benten would be the only option, although that would still really really hurt.
Oh so blade wants to do to my favourite ritual monster what happened to my favourite pendulum monster ever. Why is nothing I want to play sacred. Can't wait for evil twin support to get banned when they get something busted if my track record is anything to go by now

No deck this format does anything over the top oppressive. Herald has been around for years and has had formats where it looked tier 1 for a stretch but as always got power crept. Quite frankly the game is as healthy as it's been for a while. We have a ton of diversity as we've been seeing old decks such as paleo and newer strategies such as dragonmaid doing consistently well. The problem I often see amongst many players is that they're looking for the next thing to complain about no matter how fair the format is. This mentality then spawns into asinine statements such as Benten is just another block dragon or engage when it's nowhere near the caliber of either of those cards. You have many top level players still preferring VW or Eldlich strategies or just playing rouge and doing well because the format is so open. Also let us not forget the fact that Drytron as a whole is nowhere near the caliber as Nekroz in it's prime and quiet frankly we should just enjoy this diverse format while we have it.

Herald plus Vanity's. It's Kaiju-proof. And that's scary. Question is, how consistently do they drop both turn one?
Is it fine to ask why Preparation of Rites isn't banned? Whenever there's a viable ritual deck, that card becomes absolutely broken.

Benten is still stupid
herald of ultimateness, the ultimate "NO" card just behind shooting blazar dragon
Ultimateness has several blind spots that blazar doesn't such as it can't negate spell/trap effects (only cards) and normal summons and blazar can even negate an attack in the scenarios where your opponent already has a huge beater on board and you need to stall a few turns

Benten should not be banned or even touched at all. Benten is most similar to an atlantian dragoons, a very generic searcher that is not HOPT and it's at 3. Plus diviner of the heralds is yet to be released in the tcg so rituals are still getting support.

Konami, please please PLEASE give Rituals time to shine again.
A few things:
1. Herald and Benten combos are consistent but extremely fragile and give it unnecessary difficulty.
2. Why give the chance for you opponent to fight back when you can Amorphactor/Thunder lock and skip their whole turn.
3. This deck is about as easy as Salamangreat to use (3/5 difficulty)
Are you trolling? You can normal out Vanity's no problem. Seems like you haven't read. Also running heralds allow you to play through hand traps pretty well, especially through nib, not very fragile to me
@@joshuakelley3875 My bad, the restriction only applies to special summon, not normal so Ruler can be used.

If they actually put Benten on the banlist, i'm gonna cry... ban Vanitie's Ruler if you really have to, but i don't think that's even necessary. Remember when Nekroz was top meta and was still not topping events, because it is a ritual deck and ritual decks have like a million different outs to them? I don't think Drytron is gonna be as busted as everyone says it is.
Shame that another card will be banned because of another archetype. I really liked C.A Benten and most C.A cards. I tend to enjoy play Rituals. Is sorta using the worst character on high difficulty.

imo it would have been fine if benten got banned when the evigishki card got unbanned not because its a meta threat or anything just because of the lack of opt and the stupid things that go along with that

I've seen good combos with the megalith version with only one benten (with no interruption from your opponent) when you summon phul you can add benten back to hand from grave. So if it gets limited I think youll see more megalith cards in the deck.

Benten is just gonna be the next Aqua Dolphin: obscure card from a mediocre archetype that gets a powerful interaction which has players questioning if it should stay legal only to just later adapt and consider it fine.
I mean the fact Cyber Angel Benten was reprinted in Genesis Impact means they were aware of the interaction but don't consider it too oppressive.
Or they just don't give a fuck and want to sell stuff. Its the same every format.
you underestimate kojnami's willingness to let oppressive things stay in the format to support new sets, smoke grenade was known to konami 2 banlists ago and was blatantly banworthy enough it was killed the next list after anyway, but was initially left in the format to be oppressive and push the newest product, same with VFD
