The 891 generation of Porsche is absolutely stunning in design, sound, performance, all these characteristics evoke emotions. Have test driven exclusively 3.4 Cayman with PDK, the first 981 Cayman 2.7 manual I drove the penny dropped. It felt more pokey in manual than the refined PDK and the fun of left leg involvement was more enjoyable. The best manual gear box with a buttery short throw precise mechanical notch is a refreshing feeling for a perfect weekend car. The performance of the 2.7 is strikingly close to the 3.4 than the paper suggest.
Ultimately for any prospective buyer of this 2.7 Boxster the spec you will not miss the 3.4 unless you live by the autobahn where the bigger engine can be exploited without ending up in prison. If you live anywhere near M25 2.7 well spec Porsche like this one here is up your alley. Thanks Bash for affording me a test drive on a well priced Porsche Cayman 3.4 which sold by the time I sold my car privately.
