Mine does 35-40 on a flat road and about 45 down hill due to the cdi limiting it. It does about 30 uphill without any problems unless the hill is really long and really steep. It is the best scooter I've had yet and for the price it ought to be.
Tomas White My Ruckus does Roughly 70 Km Per Hour. i haven't driven it yet but i can't wait to drive it! it won't start though D: the button start won't work but when i try to kick start it "like with my foot" it turns on for a split second but then it just turns back off. also, in canada it can get really snowy but should i need studded tires? also, do i need to mod it in any way to get it to be able to start it in the winter? ive heard that it isn't made for negative weather conditions.
Lyrical Kaos cheek your spark plug out it may need a new one go with only ngk brand honda scooters like them it will start hard or not start at all with out it you may all so need a garb clean to. if that dose not work than it may need a new uper end done on it . about every 6000 miles or so it must be done on every scooter even honda.
Tomas White Mine is a UK version which has Honda's pgm-fi fuel injection, Mine will only manage 25mph on flats or 28 downhill or 21 uphill. It's a lovely bike but the stock speed is soo restricted, and I don't know why US models do about 10mph more than our UK Zoomer versions, no one seems to know how to get that extra speed back without upgrading with loads of expensive aftermarket parts. does yours have carbs or fuel injection, and has yours got aftermarket rollers, exhaust or CDI unit please?
I’ve watched this video multiple times over the years. Love the time of year, and the peacefulness of everything captured on the video. Love the ruckus too
No idea how this video got popular but thank you all for watching & I'm glad that you enjoyed it. For anyone interested, I had this scooter for three years and ended up selling it because I moved across the country to get married. I now have a Honda Shadow 600 and hope to one day have a scooter again, but it will be many moons from now until we can justify the cost. And yes, I will take better care of storing it away from weather (but sure as hell won't let the weather stop me from riding!) =)
I grew up in the north and would ride my bike in this stuff but when it was colder. I'd be cruising down the road on my bicycle and then WHAM flat on my back sliding down the road. So I watched your entire video waiting for that to happen =)
@Jhonsinh I guess it depends on what your definition of "okay" is. If I had a garage and space for it, I'd bring it in but that hasn't been an option. So the only other two options are to cover it daily, or let it sit out in the elements and hope for the best. I've had this for 3 years and it's been outside all that time. This is it's third winter and it still starts and gets me to work and now sits at 7,700 miles. I'm out of characters so onto the a followup!
I lived in an apartment with no garage. I guess I could have covered it, but that's a pain in the butt. All things considered, it worked out pretty well for me.
@Jhonsinh part 2: I have done all my own maintenance but have been pretty neglectful in the past year. I haven't changed the oil in a VERY long time, & did a pretty crappy job changing my belt and have to fix a few problems that came from that. But, I can't think of any problems allowing it to be blasted by the seasons that's been anything more than cosmetic. I may be wrong, but in the end I weighed the effort of covering it daily and do not regret it. Probably wold have been better though lol.
Every day? Work all day, come home, walk upstairs to your apartment, go get your cover, walk back down, wrestle with it for a couple minutes, then the next morning you undo it all early in the morning before going to work? Best of luck with that. I had very minimal problems leaving it uncovered. Given a garage I'd park it inside, but I didnt have one. In the future maybe I'll build a little lean-to to park it under but that's about it.
Actually I take that back, now that I think of it I did replace the stock roller weights with Metro weights but dunno if that added anything. My performance was so low before that and replacing the belt that it felt like I went from riding a marshmellow to a fighter jet so I'm sure my experience was pretty biased...
Hard to say. Supposedly the speedo is unreliable and the phone gps I ever had was in my Galaxy S which is notoriously crappy, so I never got an accurate reading. That said, I never bypassed the limiter, and never did any performance mods so whatever you can get out of stock is what I got.
throw a tarp over that honda
I KNEW it was gonna be PBR.
This makes me excited for the winter, I just bought a new Ruckus a couple days ago. I love the scooter.

Glad it's brought you joy!
man that cold start
best video ever. total bad ass. Ruckus are pretty damn good in the winter
That's dedication!
Pull the thing inside man! I would feel horrible leaving my ruckus out in the cold uncovered like this.
I love our authentic Canadian wind
Sometimes you really need a beer!
Beers why he has this thing probably. Lol
You are a king of kings! I too have a video of a beer run on a Honda Elite, but no snow.

Dude, you got in and out of the store REALLY fast.
Holy crap Dude! You are nuts!
This video has sold me. I NEED a ruckus. LOL
At first I was worried more for other drivers driving like assholes but then I saw the PBR and I was like "this guy is dedicated"
Glad he got the beer there safely
Beer run in style!🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
Its great that your purchasing Pabst blue ribbon!! lmao Love that stuff
We have snow here in the UK, sometimes it gets half as bad as this & the whole country fouls it’s underwear & hides inside..
That's what I'm talkin about! Scooters are awesome
Disrespecting the ruckus by leaving it outside? BLASPHEMY!
This seems ill advised, I like it.
This was so entertaining and i have no idea why. lol

Ed Floody lol
I'm pretty sure a lot of people did
I can hear the parking brake clip rattling :). I love my Ruck.
You need to aim your camera up a bit - mostly what we see is the road 30 feet in front of you.
Still - looks like a cool ride!
Epic, I ride my ZOOMER in the snow here in London England, but that was damn thick.

Insanity, plain and simple.
You're brave man
pretty decent, what type of top speed you get? 30mph?...or 40ish kph?

Awesome that she started up on first try, after being buried in that deep in snow. Good to know. How do the stock wheels handle the icy roads?
pretty decent. Was a long time ago though.

10 years later still wondering if he puts it under a tarp 😂
I would not want road salt on my scooter. can't be good for it.
Are those stock tires?
Are these the stock Kenda tires?
OMG! I am getting one this week!!!! in Michigan
ClintL63 How is your Ruckus?
I’m getting a motorcycle that’s 50cc
that forester woulda' been way more fun in that snow. ( first time I have ever wanted to drive a forester)
is that the "underseat storage bag"?
do you have anything on the tires for traction?
Moose Mechanic tread lol
omg hahaha
XD
I wonder if my kymco super 9 can do that....we got 7 inches of snow on the ground...i'm gonna go ride into traffic and see!
so its ok to leave your ruckus in the snow like that?
stock tires?
i would never leave mine out like this...
yes it is, forget the namebrand. gave it to the people I sold the bike to for free (though tried to get a couple bucks for it at first).
Did she rust due to road salt?
mmz77 nope was in good condition when i sold it six or so years ago
Not wise at all pulling it out in this weather. What if the car behind cannot stop?

in -20 and colder i doubt this is possible.. otherwise id give it a try with mine but it hits -35 at times.. cool vid tho
Tattoo you and PBR......rad.
ya after all they will last through anything
Why would anybody leave their shit out in the weather ?
I wonder if this dude is still alive ?
LOU ROLDAN yup
Been there done that lol I can fit 4 15 packs on the old 05 ruckus lol
for 2500 buck's i would cover it up lol

alexis gomez this was 5 years ago lol
This video would of been great had it not been recorded with a potato.
Potato? Its decent film on my screen. Maybe yours just sucked?
Get a fucking motorcycle cover!

zzzzzzzZZZ
Dude you should be ashamed of yourself
