I also had a nature visit to Belize. My room had no water or electricity. It was out in the middle of nowhere with a thatched roof and screens for windows. At night I could hear Tarantulas crawling thru the thatch. A few people even had them drop to the floor during the night. Eeeekkk! But it too was amazing. I loved the nighttime jungle walks, innertube rides thru the caves and repelling down 200 ft cliffs. Yes it was raw nature, but that it my style. But I would love to do it with the luxury that you had. That way my wife would come with me.

Wow! Having a tarantula fall from the roof would be terrifying! We've had a few of those roughing it jungle safaris. As we get older, we really enjoy the luxury escape after a day in the jungle. Thanks for sharing your experience. Rapelling is so much fun, I'd love to do that there.
