  • Reading and commenting on other people's work or your own is a common part of a writer's life. How do the Scribe and the NA3C compare for those of us trying to go paperless in this process? I compare both devices' native formats (NeoReader & Kindle books) as well as PDFs.
    (tl;dw: advantage Scribe, maybe)

Hand down boox 3c for pdf annotations. You can easily transfer on off the device. You can crop the screen so less margin. You can also set it up to show 1 column zoom in when you have two column articles. Writing for me out of the box boox 3c wins over scribe. Feel like writing on paper. The boox cover of 3c does both landscape and portrait. Oh you can Bluetooth device to flip pages. Easy to connect to cloud devices. You can annotate webpages once you download it straight in boox device. Only reason to go with scribe is you already have lots of books in kindle. Did I mention you can put magazine on boox and not scribe

    thanks for great review.
looks like epub on Scribe & PDF on Boox would be best

The kindle scribe is black and white only, so a better comparison would be the Boox Note Air 3. Based on other reviews I've watched the Air 3C is significantly slower than the Air 3 in side-by-side tests. For whatever reason the addition of the color layer slows it down. So... do another comparison with the Air 3 and it will be more valuable as a real comparison.

Nice video. I used to have a Supernote and Boox Note Air2 Plus, and sold them both. I now have a Kindle Scribe, and while I really like it, I find I very much miss the vastly different functionality of the Boox, and wish I had known before buying the Scribe that it doesn’t have the same features. My fault, I assumed instead of researching. As a writer myself, I should know better. I’m considering getting another Boox device, but like you, I do like how fast the Scribe goes from page to page instantly. I suspect it’s simply a matter of the Scribe being a native Kindle device, whereas the Boox and Supernote devices have Kindle apps. All that said, while watching your video, my husband asked me when I made this video. Confused, I asked what he was talking about. He replied, “The video you’re watching. When did you make it?” Still confused, I explained that I was watching your channel and showed him. He said your voice and vocal inflections are so similar to mine, he wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if he didn’t actually see you and I in front of him. I’ve heard everyone has a twin somewhere in the world, I just never considered everyone having a vocal twin! 😂

Oh my gosh, that's so funny and a little eerie! (Conversely, I saw my husband watching a biking video the other day and I was like "who's that guy" and it was him.) I had a Note Air 2+ at one point and honestly I think the Note Air 3C is a big step up, more pleasurable to write on, I like the color...so if you go Boox again, you might try that one!

@@WritersLike That’s hilarious! 😂 I am seriously thinking about the 3C, now that I know what I know. If I do get it, I might give my Scribe to my daughter-in-law. She loves to read and is a very good anime artist, but not a writer, so I’m sure she would love the Scribe.

Theres an option with a PDF on the Boox to "fit to page" if you select the format option. Thats how i use mine. I have enjoyed using my pdf templates for interviewing.

Can you use the the send to kindle option and then use the kindle app on your Boox rather than using neoreader? Does that improve the page turn speed?

What happens to the On Document notes, on the Boox, when you change text size?

Have you tried using the split screen option on the Note Air 3C? I am considering that for reading kiddle in one side and taking notes on the second side.

Yes, I like the split screen and wish every device had one. You still have the page-turn speed and consistency issue, which can be an annoyance if you're really want to immerse yourself. It's definitely a nice option to have, though.

You're all probably gonna think I'm crazy but I bought a Tab s8 a while back and I put a specific paperfeel screen protector on it. I've been using it to take notes for quite some time now and I got used to it and now I really like it. I can turn on either focus mode or do not disturb mode but to be honest I don't always need to be in distraction free mode. The note app I use almost replicates the Remarkable experience perfectly with nearly every feature. But I do like that I can add color or color highlights to my notes on my tab s8. But to be fair I gave the Remarkable a shot. To be honest I just didn't feel like I was using it any differently than my Tab s8. It just seemed like I was carrying another device around but doing the same thing and spending another $350. So I ended up sending it back. I see the appeal for some but it just not needed for my use case.

I also use my tab S8 and it's for marking sheet music and lyrics. I've been using Samsung notes app for it because it syncs with my phone for on the move revision, but I'd be interested to know what note app you use.

Your not crazy, everyone has their own preferences for annotations. The Lady did say that one of reasons she chose these e-ink devices was because she didn’t want to be looking at a LCD screen all the time.

What screen protector are you using? I'm going crazy trying to decide on an e ink device when I'd just as soon use my S7...but I can't stand the slippery glass. Everything I've read about paper screen protectors has been pretty hit and miss.

Funny that your kind of prove the Boox is a better device for handling PDF documents as you go along. The Kindle format of course will be faster but have you tried the Kindle app
    In the Boox.
The other thing is that the Boox is a colour device. If you chose the Boox Air 3 it has significantly better battery life due to the lack of the colour screen and not having the Boox Screen Refresh technology.
I wonder what you ended up doing.

Try tapping the corner of the page in the Boox Note Air to turn the page, it works better 👍

You are comparing an android color ereader against an simple b/w linux ereader. Of course the second one is faster, but the technology is so old. Let's do this again in a couple of years, when amazon may probably takes a leap to the color.
Nowadays Onyx Boox is the King of the ereaders.

I have a problem with your way of reviewing this. When you highlight a text on Kindle, you use the pen, but when you highlight a text on the Onyx, you use your finger. It is not a fair review
