Thanks for posting this! I just finished the replacement, and everything seems to be working as hoped for. It took me about 2.5 hours overall just for the refrigerator section (freezer didn't need work), including defrosting the built-up ice on the heat exchanger, and cleaning everything up at the end.
A word of caution to those with built-up ice... The back panel will not easily come off if it is stuck to the ice, so you'll want to be extra careful as you remove the cover. It isn't very sturdy, and you could run the risk of damaging the cover if you try to force it off. I made enough space to get my hands behind it, and worked it loose from the ice on both sides gradually until it was free.
Everything else in this step-by-step guide was spot on!

This vid just helped fix my fridge, it's been almost a year since we last used it cause it wasn't going below 20° but the freezer was working fine, so we just switched it off and went back to our old LG. two nights ago I decided to google what might be the cost cause technicians here are very opportunistic. Found this vid and went to buy a Samsung Temperature Senso at a local appliance parts store. I installed it yesterday and the fridge is perfectly fine now @ 3°!
    Many thanks....

Very good video! Thank you for great camera angles and for your attention to detail. As a side note, buying Samsung appliances was a mistake. From the dishwasher to washer and dryer, stove and now fridge everything required repairs several times in 10 years. Local service people outright refuse to deal with Samsung appliances.

My sister has a Samsung, just out of warranty of course, that has great difficulty maintaining cool refrigerator temperatures when the doors are opened more than once every two hours. The setting is cranked full cold.
A Sears technician came out and said it's the thermostat: about a hundred and about $175 for the part and about another $200 for labor is how I recall it. Do these guys think they're plumbers having a haul around a ton of tools everywhere they go for such expensive labor? Do they think they're auto mechanics where they got to purchase basically half a house and tools to do their job?
    Digressing-
-the refrigerator is an icing up showing any other signs that it's not working properly other than it just cannot maintain cool temperatures if it's being disturbed. I don't know if I thermistor will help the situation.

I did all that you where talking about, but when I started to reassemble everything I noticed the one of the pins for the fan had broken off in the connector on the fridge side. Question, my frig has just started "losing temp" in the cold part and chiming to warn me. It goes crazy chiming sometimes over and over again even when reading normal temp. Then it loses temp after. If I select "power cool" it knocks it down below freezing (25°) and does not shut off cooling until I deselect it, unlike the freezer power freeze that will shut itself off.
The freezer has stayed steady. Is this a sensor issue or something else?

However, since I increased the cooler temp by 2 degrees to 40 F the other days, the next day I noticed that the freezer temp 0 F on the led display stared flashing suddenly. So I powered the fridge off at the circuit breaker and waited 2 hours before powering it back on. After the fridge was back on for a few hours, the temp on the led display was all over the place and the compressor doesn't seem to stop at all. The fridge is back to normal after I called Samsung and they walked me through clearing the code. Thanks again.

Was wondering this. My fridge defrost sensor was replaced 2 years ago for the typical ice build up issue. Great until now I’m having an issue with the fridge running nonstop and freezing foods. Thermometer inside fridge won’t stay above 32. I ordered a temp sensor and hoping it’s the problem. Not too sure where the temp sensor is located though

Dude that is "not" the temperature sensor!...that is the "defrost" sensor!...the Freezer temp sensor is in the ceiling of the freezer compartment under a little white plastic grille!...your channel cost me hours of frustration!...most you tube videos like yours don't mention anything about where the actual freezer compartment sensor is located....it's in the ceiling of the freezer compartment...you are showing replacement of the "Defrost Sensor"...please change the title of your video!

I'm sorry for any confusion on the video. Depending on the model, the temperature sensors can be located in several different spots inside the unit. Our videos are generic videos to give you an idea on how the repair is done, but it could be different on your unit. If you have any questions you can contact us at 1-877-477-7278.
