I have lived very close of this geneva camp for years which is in Muhammadpur,Dhaka and seen their lives very closely.These are very hardworking good people who suffered a lot without any fault.Because their mothertongue was urdu they were called Pakistani .Many of them had businesses , properties but lost everything when war broke and they end up in the camp as refugee.Older generation use to speak pure urdu but newer generation speaks mixed urdu and bangla.Sad part of the story is these are people without a country.Who came from India , living in Bagladesh and were told in the past by politicians that they will be send to Pakistan.Not only that now the newer generation is born in Bangladesh but dont have Bangladeshi nationality though they speak perfect bangla and consider them as bengali .

After the war of 1971, Geneva camp was established to protect the Urdu speaking Biharis and held a referendum on whether they would live in Bangladesh as a Bangladeshi citizen or migrate to Pakistan and become the Pakistani citizen, all of them put their vote on migrating to Pakistan. The Pakistani Govt. gave them hope to take them back but never did and thus they are called Stranded Pakistani. The Bangladesh Govt didn't recognise them as Bangladeshi since they weren't willing to. And FYI, a number of new generation biharis are now recognized as Bangladeshi by the govt. they have their National IDs and have the right to vote.

Currently we are all suffering fom this camp who live nearby, and the amount of sufferenace is unbearable. Many of the people living here maybe good people, but the new generation has no respect for local women, children, elderly, household people, or anybody in the locality. Drugs, rape, weapons, are an everyday routine for them and it is being done openly without consequences. The government should take bigger initiatives to stop this.

Yes once Muslim population growth rate is high to their extreme believe but now it is much more similar to others communities except some spots. Also 14-15% of 1.32 billion is 195+ million nearly same population of Pakistan. And minority in Pakistan is very small if you account religion basis minority. I remember Mrs Indira Gandhi’s loud cries for help to the international communities to cope with that economic crisis & burden . I have lived very close of this geneva camp for years which is in Muhammadpur,Dhaka and seen their lives very closely.These are very hardworking good people who suffered a lot without any fault.Because their mothertongue was urdu they were called Pakistani .Many of them had businesses , properties but lost everything when war broke and they end up in the camp as refugee.Older generation use to speak pure urdu but newer generation speaks mixed urdu and bangla.Sad part of the story is these are people without a country.Who came from India , living in Bagladesh and were told in the past by politicians that they will be send to Pakistan.Not only that now the newer generation is born in Bangladesh but dont have Bangladeshi nationality though they speak perfect bangla and consider them as bengali .
Hey i presume that you don't the history of the stranded pakistanis well. After the war of 1971, Geneva camp was established to protect the Urdu speaking Biharis and held a referendum on whether they would live in Bangladesh as a Bangladeshi citizen or migrate to Pakistan and become the Pakistani citizen, all of them put their vote on migrating to Pakistan. The Pakistani Govt. gave them hope to take them back but never did and thus they are called Stranded Pakistani. The Bangladesh Govt didn't recognise them as Bangladeshi since they weren't willing to. And FYI, a number of new generation biharis are now recognized as Bangladeshi by the govt. they have their National IDs and have the right to vote.

Currently we are all suffering fom this camp who live nearby, and the amount of sufferenace is unbearable. Many of the people living here maybe good people, but the new generation has no respect for local women, children, elderly, household people, or anybody in the locality. Drugs, rape, weapons, are an everyday routine for them and it is being done openly without consequences. The government should take bigger initiatives to stop this.

After the war of 1971, Geneva camp was established to protect the Urdu speaking Biharis and held a referendum on whether they would live in Bangladesh as a Bangladeshi citizen or migrate to Pakistan and become the Pakistani citizen, all of them put their vote on migrating to Pakistan. The Pakistani Govt. gave them hope to take them back but never did and thus they are called Stranded Pakistani. The Bangladesh Govt didn't recognise them as Bangladeshi since they weren't willing to. And FYI, a number of new generation biharis are now recognized as Bangladeshi by the govt. they have their National IDs and have the right to vote.

Also 14-15% of 1.32 billion is 195+ million nearly same population of Pakistan. And minority in Pakistan is very small if you account religion basis minority. But Pakistan is tribal culture
contented country, so any smaller ethnic group then Punjabi or Pastho are count as minority, it is not because they Hindus or Jews or Muslim.
