PART 1
• Container Home Build i...
Thank you for your video. What interested me the most was the way you seal and cover the containers together at the floor. That was the first time I seen someone addressed that part of building a container home. I've watched a number of videos. Thank you again.
It is so intriguing watching what it intels to build a home from start to finish. To all of the builder's, welders, electricians, plumbers, interior decorators and to anybody I might have left out; you all have done an Awesome job on this project and Thank You for all of your hard work. I would love to have one of these container homes built using 3 containers.
Awesome job. You are, without a doubt, "Da Man"!!
I've been envious of anyone who builds one of these since I saw them 10 years ago. I want to build one so bad.. Need $$ first.. uuggghhhh. . Nice job and thanks for the share
Wow, you did a beautiful job with those containers. Love the double doors. you certainly have a lot of talent. Absolutely Beautiful.
Your a Genius my friend, I think this is exactly what me & my wife intend to build, if your ever visiting Central Scotland, call me.
Bon, you sir are a great craftsman with a good design flare. I thoroughly enjoyed watching both part 1&2 videos. I like container homes, they are strong, won't be affected by termites. Condensation issues I've read in comments by others and their experiences have been overcome by them, your work is brilliant, hoping to go towards that direction myself in the near future here in Australia. Looking towards the future should you make a part 3 video and keen to learn more. I've read most comments about your videos and your project, many great positive comments and great info learnt from them. Regards Rick In western Australia.
Amazing result... The music is brutal though
I love the jetted tub, that's my"Must have"♡
Think I would of built the roof with a view to having a useable room up there. Containers rigid enough to support a floor. Make a nice bedroom or study with great views.
yes I agree with you, or perhaps a second bedroom.
Put a open porch on 1/3 of the roof and the rest cover with a roof and make it s sun room. Stairs off the side and spiral staircase to downstairs
Very talented fellow here. Great watching a man do it all.
i would put thick foam board on outside than cover with vinyl siding....nice job be proud forget the negative folks
Beautiful project. Please continue with the trend of shipping containers so that I can help my husband understand it is a viable solution.... my opinion is that all of our rental properties should be upgraded to this!!
thanks for sharing this great build. your a master of your trade and it's awesome to watch the process.
From one builder to the another, good job. North Carolina.
Thanks, Tom. I think you are more professional than I am though :). Thanks for watching.
Thanks for your comment to me. I think your very good too.
I would hardly call Bon a builder.. Maybe an average DIYer.. Can't even get the front steps made with an even riser.
subbab4 Bon the Average DIYer just didn't rhyme as well as Bon the Builder, so I used the latter. Thank you for your comments. Bon the Builder
interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about cargo container home plans try Sovallo Container Build Fixer (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
Thanks for sharing Bon, It would be great if you'd do a video showing how your project is transforming!
wow!!!! you blew my mind away.. very skillfull and nice end product. good job sir
Well, it appears you have all the talent to build these structures. Bravo.
Awesome! Great job you guys..
The man with the plan. Good job. The only thing I would change is, instead of welding the original container doors shut, I would have opened them up and made a small patio by adding a small floor and sliding glass window. By the way I think the added tin roof on this project was genius.
The build is really interesting, but that music is a killer
zrobiłeś kawał dobrej roboty ,miłego mieszkania
Great job sir!! Awesome build. One suggestion, unless your target audience is 18yr old rave partyers.....different music please. Cheers
i thought the music was spot on.
@alison webster just turned 43 and I'm sorry but I just love Bass
This is my dream! Very cool and same time comfortable!
Que hermosa quedó la casa sr. Lo felicito 😊💙
Awesome video! Great way to show how it's done simply but very well built! Thank you!
A superb job. In Canada there would be masses of by-laws against using containters. If it has a light bulb in it, it is classed as a structure and must have 3 years of permits, Engineering designs, neighbourhood assessment, blah blah.
I would have opted for 4" thick framing on walls with Fibreglass insulation and vapour barrier on top of that prior to drywall. Poured pad and certainly Tornado anchors. If they had been placed as opposites you would have the option of Barn Doors at both ends. Just some observations. I expect you are in Southern USA. Well done.
I would have purchased the Bosch all in one dryer/washer machine to minimize space. But good job none the less.
Mike, thanks for your suggestion and I believe you to be right. We just happened to get these at a substantial discount. Thanks for watching. Bon the Builder
that's built to last my brother thank you for showing it
Awesome build my man,💪💪💪!! Thanks for uploading this step by step video, this will help me to Silence my "boss" in a recent debate that we've had on how this Could/Couldn't be done. I'd love to see a plan/ build that uses (4) containers: 3 above ground & 1 below to serve as a basement/storm shelter, that'd be great!! Meanwhile, God Speed & Best of Luck on the finished product & i can't wait to see the video !!!
Thanks for this video. You did an awesome job
Beautiful home, great idea for the rafter tie in
good job... I am in love with the kitchen... I could see myself hooking up big Sunday dinners in something like that.
Dereka, thank you. Your input is very kind to. My wife enjoyed your comments immensely.
Man has some skills.
leonard payne ,Y
I enjoyed the video and liked seeing how you did everything. However, I like to see the "before" and "after" results,as a whole. I would've have loved to have seen the inside,in a sweeping view at completion. It looks very nice.
Desde colombia . gran , pero que grandioso proyecto . muchas felicitaciones.
good job , you are a good handyman! your bathroom looks so beautifull !
It's owesome. And thanks a lot for you that you made it video. I hope everybody likes these 2 videos of yours. Good luck!
This is a nice design for Liberia, some can be made larger. Under the steps areas need to be closed or made useful as storages. ( we know these designers know how to build well, we are just working together on clues that can work for Liberians).Thank you so much.
Somehow I missed the spacial layout of the home I just saw disjointed rooms.
Nice job. I could live in that house, if it was in Los Angeles. 😄
Awesome Job ! Bob the bilder, you give me some thinking thanks , maiby soler panels a fire place extention for two or 3 bedrooms upsters . Cheers Bob the bilder
Beautiful work. You have my admiration. We also started converting a container into a tiny house and we know how much work it takes. You are awesome. Very nice.
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for posting.
Who cares about the music ppl. We are getting ready to start building our container home. These videos will be very helpful. 👍for sure!
Love It...But, ¿Where Is The Part 3? I'm Eager To See The Job Completely Done
La Judia Jodona, I'm sorry, but construction has slowed down because of other things in my life so part is quite a way off, sorry to disappoint. Bon the Builder.
wow nice job , makes you wonder why the "tiny house" concept lives .... this is more permanent and just as cheap !
bon amazing job i would have not thought that this could be done i would have use rockwool for insulation little better r value
Great video and detail. Have subscribed
Wow.... good job, but that sure looks like a lot of work. After completing it, do you have second thoughts about maybe it might have been easier to just build the whole thing from the ground up? In any case, a very interesting challenge.
Marvin Werner, Actually, when people ask me if I would do again, I reply, probably not. You are correct in saying that it would have been easier to build out of wood. I would build out of wood primarily because it is conventional construction methods and lumber yards are geared toward that method. Thanks for your comment. Bon the Builder.
Where's the third part mate!?
This is an awesome job! u disipate a lot of my questions, im going to build my home with 2 shipping containers like that!
What do u install over the plywood floor? Please answer me. Thanks!!
Great Job, doing it all yourself, super! The other thing I really admire is the white shirt worn in almost every segment. If it was me, after a week I wouldn't have any white shirts left they'd probably be brown.
I truly think that’s Fantastic, I’ve been wanting to make a container home for my place in Baja, one thing I did see and just an opinion, why use a window A/C unit? Why not something more permanent like same unit mounted into a wall instead of window.... just a thought... great looking home
FIRST CLASS CRAFTSMAN......GREAT JOB.......PRETTY WORK! ENJOY !
Ive got to say i admire you mate.
Good on you.
great job on the building, but your music is terrible!
Please No Music. Just narration.
Please consider the chemicals in the existing wooden flooring and what contaminates may remain from the containers’ past cargo . And maybe sand blast that thing and repaint if lead is thought to be present in existing paint . Bon you’re like Noah brother !! Amazing !!
im liking this build
Cool build...talented craftsman. One nitpik, when you tile a tub/shower you should lay out your tile so you don't have narrow/skinny pieces on the ends of your rows......looks better and less apt to leak in the future.
Hola. Soy de Uruguay. Me encanta el trabajo que haces.
That is a jack of all trades salute to you from a tradesmen to tradesman
Amazing job !!!
good job!!!
good job!amazing home
Why wasn't the window ac unit mounted through the wall instead of using a nice window?
Great video, but who picked-out the hokey music? lol Nice work though.
Awesome work mate!
Also prior to containers placement, a smaller container can be buried, so that you have a cellar and storm shelter Incase of tornadoes. Please continue to post you shipment containers homes.
Hello .. Good evening. I live in Brasília, Brazil and I really liked his project; Very good indeed. Here I intend to make a house using 2 containers of 12 meters. I'll copy some details. Success. God bless you. André.
wooooouuuu¡¡ Increíble very Godó, adn I TING VER Y CHIP.
Nice and yu did the whole job in a white shirt
David, thanks for you comment. Lol. Most of my work shirts are old dress shirts (I try to get full use of everything). Plus I have a very fair skin color so I wear long sleeves, especially outdoors, because I do not tan, I roast. Bon the Builder
I love the white shirts very elegant lol great job do you finish it? I will love to se the finished house 🏠
I really, really, love this video and all of the effort. The skills and creativity are top level. The strength of containers and repurposing. But at the same time, the work that is put in to working "around" the steel box. Is it worth it financially? Would it have been just as cheap and easy to just ending building this structure from wood? Does anyone have a compare and contrast build cost of this? Thanks for the content
thx for video , i had some things to learn from it.
Good job!, you obviously have some skills! Just wondering about the finishing techniques with having appliances and toilets in without drywall or even framing done. Did you do it that way for the video?
A final walk through would have been nice.
мужик ты молодец.у тебя золотые руки
Bon the builder u r great craftsmen. won't comment on music but I'm kinda having second thoughts on building container home when I read u spent 25K so far. love Texas
Zee I, you are very kind. I definitely tell people that container homes are not for everyone. I wish you well in whatever you decide to pursue. Bon the Builder.
superbe travail;bravo à vous.
only thing I see wrong, is the with window unit. other than that. absolutely amazing.
Wayne Bittner, It is interesting that you should mention the window unit. I have a small one in the bedroom window and the glass broke because the vinyl could support it over the long term. I yes, it was installed properly to manufacturers specifications. Thanks for watching. Bon the Builder.
just the noise and heat from the unit can be aggravating if enjoying a evening on the porch..
great job my friend.
And music is just perfect, motivating👍👍
Motivating to commit suicide 😳
Interesting this whole project. I like it. I'm guessing that there was no electrical or even building permit pulled for this project? The electrical would not pass. But then again who cares right? Nice job man!
you done brilliantly well. I am inspired by you. I think I will do like you done.
if I get some idea from you, it will very helpful. you are in US, but I am in UK. thanks.
Great build.
Having to listen to the music was absolutely painful!
I think I would have sealed up that center seam with more of an epoxy instead of spray foam. Ants and all that small insect stuff is eventually gonna work their way through the spray foam and then they'll be in your plywood floor
great job ! 👍
I could be wrong, but I doubt that this is any cheaper than a conventional build. More tornado proof though. If it were me, I'd leave the container doors operable. Now they've got to wrestle the couch and entertainment center in the regular way, instead of using a fork lift... :D
I have never been bored so much watching a CZcams video and I love watching shipping container bills as I would surely love to build one in the future and you wonder why you have so many dislikes wow could the music out and just took on your videos give a description of what you're doing what materials you are using and why it's a no brainer or how about do some reaches research watch some of the shipping container bills you might learn something never been bored so Richard in my life and I was going to subscribe glad I didn't
you certainly make building a home out of shipping containers look simpler than it might be....
Bon, thank you for sharing. My family and I are in the process of building a container home, much like yours, but with 3 containers. What brand of floor epoxy did you go with? Thanks
Huh......it appears as though the thumbs down people hate ingenuity, self reliance, and hard work. Weird.
Awesome job 💪
I think it is great, albeit an unconventional timeline (ie: moving in and hanging cabinets before finishing) but that is ok. I'm sure you had your reasons for that. No worries. I would love to know approximately what this house cost you to build? I am considering building something very similar on a piece of land in the country. Thanks!
mr Bon, you have amazing skills. Seems like you have great accociates as well. You got room for a decomissioned disabled veteran😉? (just kidding) Heck of a project though.
Que hermoso hogar y hecho por ellos mismos😊
Great idea. I would have did it two welded together. Then a 16 ft space. Then 2 more . Built a huge roof over it. So I could have second floor on top of the four containers. A large A frame roof if you will . A fan on one side to pull breeze thru in sumertime. Insulated to keep heat in in winter. Just a thought sir. The 16 ft space could have been carport, storage for chest type freezers etc.
You did an awesome job
Very impressive. It looks like you did most of the work yourself. It looks great. Wondering what you are sharing regarding costs? Just for the curious. Also, a bit about your background, what skill-set you brought to the project? Again, mostly out of curiosity. I like looking at the container projects, and tiny homes. Probably not ever venturing into it myself, but, again interesting hobby. Thanks.
Nice!!
I know why you used the plywood on the floor, but....
Most containers have mahogany floors, would be great to be able to clean them up and show them off!!
I've wondered about using refer containers... Already insulated!!!
super nice... great jobs. very professional..
Até hoje esperando a parte 3
