My name is Ally Poirot, and I am joined with my husband @gabepoirot to discuss boundaries that Christian couples and Christian singles should put in place in order to honor God in our lives when it comes to purity inside and outside of relationships. We take a Biblical look into God’s heart behind His call to wait for marriage. There tends to be this misperception that sex is bad. The truth is that God created sex and called it good within the marriage context. We share many of the physical and lifestyle boundaries that helped us pursue purity while we were single, dating, and engaged. We will cover topics such as being careful with the kind of media and entertainment you consume, physical boundaries for dating, surrounding yourself with a Godly community, temptation, God’s grace and renewal for those who have a past of sexual sin, and more. i am a virgin but i’ve struggled with sexual sins for a while. please pray that God would continue to purify me and help be fight the temptations. i want to save myself for my husband and know that God can help me and him!
I would pray for you because me and my husband had those lusting temptations because we both was virgins but we wanted to serve God so we was very patient to wait until marriage to break our virginity. He was my first love and we respect each other's boundaries after we made our mistake and kiss. He's a hearing person and I'm deaf with autism, I have to wear cochlear implants and hearing aids. We're into an interracial marriage because I'm white and he's black, we had some mean stares but we didn't care because our love is genuine through Jesus.

I am 17, and my boyfriend and I tried to wait, and we did for a few months, but then we fell into temptation and we've been together for over a year now, and still struggle with that. We just re-made the decision to wait, and involved a mentor from church to be our accountability partner. Praise God!

It’s hard as a 21 year old male. I’m a virgin and my curiosity would often lead me to watching p*rn but now I’m recovering from that addiction. I also feel ashamed some times for being so unexperienced with women because as a man to be “cool” you are expected to go to parties and get girls.

Don't allow what others think get to you. As long as you have joy and confidence about your choices you're good to go. Always ask the Holy spirit for help to remain pure and HE will help you. Keeping yourself pure is a blessing and God is proud of you. Also, you will meet a lady who loves you sincerely. Like I said take all things to God in prayer.

I’m a 23M virgin and I’ve struggled for years with porn due to loneliness and a hunger for female affection. My best advice, don’t party and hang around ungodly people. People who look down on virgins regret giving theirs away or were corrupted by the “sexually liberated” society we live in. What I’ve learned is that like Joseph we can’t beat temptation and must flee which means avoiding and looking away. Be patient and seek Jesus and God will give you a virgin wife and the wait will no doubt be worth it for both of you. Also, don’t rush into marriage as many are deceived by their impatience and hunger for sex without truly knowing who they are dating or courting.

It is extremely encouraging to see Christian men in these comments that are virgins. As a woman who has strived to be pleasing in God's eyes her entire life and save herself for marriage, sometimes it feels discouraging when all the mean you see are worldy and not living in the same way. It makes you feel like there may not be another person out there for you who has the same values as you, so it is very encouraging to see that there are men in this world that still hold these biblical values.
It's kind of a positive feedback loop. Sexuality is so common in today's society that those within it further promote it. So the sexually active/"successful" men and women are the ones most noticed when looking at "the average person in society". Those who endeavor to remain pure often become practically invisible as a result.
Because a lot of men are fatherless or have fathers that never set or lived by that standard it’s not considered the norm which makes abstinence that much
harder to control almost impossible especially without God in it so we must pray for everyone because lust is something serious not something that can be simply prayed away must fight it by any means necessary

The advice about not watching romance movies is 1000% true. I would add not to read romance books or anything that could lead one to think of sex and stir feelings of lust. I’m a married woman now but was not a virgin upon marriage and I realize that I struggle with sexual perversion and what caused/amplified that feeling is reading the romance novels(I was reading Harlequin romances at 10, and watching Soap Operas) and watching the romance movies or TV shows. If anyone’s desire is to be holy then anything that contradicts God’s holiness will lead to unholy actions. So I strongly encourage anyone trying to stay pure or dealing with sexual sin is to stay away from anything that is sexualize.

That’s true, but some romances are good like Pride and Prejudice. It just needs to be clean and you need to make sure you’re both developing unreasonable expectations.
See I read clean romance novels. I don't think there is an issue with those. I didn't realize there were unclean ones until I read one. Now I always check before reading.

May God help you not get tempted to go back watch them because they are addiction, once you are in, you will face a blockage to abandon them. Avoid them as possible as you can.

I've been looking into the topic of boundaries before marriage a lot in the past few years and it was great to hear your insights. The things you mentioned are very much in line with the points I've heard so far from a variety of people so that tells me that they are indeed well based in scripture and that I'm on the right track. I've been struggling for over 10 years as well with Porn. I got set free miraculously 3 times in this time. Fell back into it, but countless times relapsed while doing it on my own. I never could do it on my own. But recently when I experienced deliverance again, I got freed. The urges aren't completely gone. It's manageable, but I really gotta renew my mind. Sometimes I cry out of loneliness, but try to refresh myself again in Gods love. Thats the difference vs when doing it on my own. On my own I couldn't do it. I couldn't sleep for days, got heart racing, tensed up, suicidalness, severe depression. Maybe go seek deliverance, as Lust can oftentimes in a Porn addiction be caused by spiritual bondage or Demons. Fasting may help too and try to renew your mind. I now also really really hate that sin. I think that's where the holy Spirit renewed my mind aswell. If a temptation comes, I just tell myself of that rabbit hole I was in and can lay the urge easily aside again. God bless you!

You can recognize something as a mistake/wrong, regret it, yet still accept that it happened and move past it. God can turn anything into an opportunity for good, but that doesn't mean everything that happens is good.
Regret/shame are what prompt learning and improvement.
But again, no mistake is so large that God cannot handle it. A regretful past does not make one irredeemable. Regret, repent, and follow God toward betterment.

Thanks for this video. Im a 29 going on 30 Single male. Iv never had sex, it almost happened once but I couldn't go through with it. I was exposed to pornography in like 6th grade i was 12 or 13 and that started an addiction for the next 12 years until 2020. God has brought me quite far in this journey. While I havent viewed "hard core" pornography in a few years I struggle will sexually themed stuff usually its images or videos, there's no sex or nudity in these images/video's but its still sin im not sugar coating it. I know healing from a 12 year struggle is a Journey not a quick fix.
The struggle also stems from wanting to meet a Godly woman and wanting to be with someone and it mixes with old memories and its like my brain wants to "fix" the lonely feeling its one big bad concoction. Its like ill be completely fine for a month or so, even longer than one thing triggers another and im back to struggling for a week or so. Anyways thank you for this video again.

Sex isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it shouldn't be touted around as a necessary thing after marriage either. I've seen that lead to coercion and general manipulation/disregard for others. Plenty of people aren't interested in it, and that's perfectly fine.

Please don't use necessarily. Sex IS a good thing and a GIFT, it is beautiful. Sex outside of marriage is bad yes. Also scripture says to enjoy our wives (and the other way around) and how it's important to do it regularly. Satan will do everything to get you om the bed before marriage, and he will do everything to get you OUT the bed in marriage.

25 and waiting til marriage, I've received a lot of backlash even from the men who claimed to love, because they have not decided to wait they begin to make me feel like I'm doing the most but hear this, what Jesus did on the cross of Calvary was more than enough and staying pure is what the Biblical standard.. I do agree with this a lot, I am a virgin, and plan to stay that way till marriage, but also remeber to not beat yourself up if you slip on any of your boundaries or have sex, we all sin everyday, god will still love you and forgive you. What matters is that you stay on the path of being more christ like and keep your faith.
I want to say this…just because once you are saved and become a new creature does not mean that the sin you have committed previously doesn’t have consequences. I believe personally that if you have sex before you are married you will suffer serious consequences and they get worse the more you do it. Even if you get saved after you’ve had 100 bodies your consequences don’t just disappear. The ones who saved their purity for marriage (are virgins) will have the most blessed sex which makes sense since they obeyed. I wanted to make that distinction.

I'm only 17 and I wish I was still a virgin. I struggle with the idea now that I have to hold someone else to that standard when I couldn't hold the first to that standard. I can't even play it off as a one time thing because I struggled my way through more than 2 months of this and when it all came crashing down, that was one of my biggest convictions. to anybody reading this, please don't do what I did.
Once you repented, it doesn't matter anymore. You were just reborn and sins are forgiven once you acknowledge and stay away from repeating them. God is gracious and oftforgiving

I chose at a young age to avoid romance novels- even the religious ones!- and never watch a sex scene, even foreplay scenes, until after I was married. Even now that I am happily married, I still avoid sex scenes just because I prefer my husband to be what I’m thinking about, not some random set of actors.
I’d encourage all single unmarried young women to stay away from any entertainment that will give you Hollywood fantasies, expectations, and also baggage you don’t even realize you’re accumulating. Sex is a beautiful thing, and when you walk into it knowing only the few raw facts, you have the freedom to be completely yourself and do whatever the two of you enjoy.❤

I will have to say to be firmed with your boundaries while dating is very beneficial to you. Wait those for marriage and give to the right person. I recently broke up with my boyfriend, and many intimate memories really triggered my emotions and brought me sadness. We had deep kisses and touchings(on some areas, red light). At the beginning, I set up boundaries with him and no deep kissings. He said he didn’t come for sex, he did it because he liked me. He said his hands won’t go somewhere else. He read the Bible. Later, he told me that we would have future then I lower my guard. Unfortunately he changed his mind and we broke up. I become one of his ex, those intimate memories cause me so much pain. Wait for the right person. Even how intimate physically, it doesn’t mean we had real connection in love. Girls, be mindful. Sincerely speaking.
Gods law is love. His rules are so hard to follow these days but they protect us from so much pain. My future wife this waiting will be worth it some day.

Personally, I have been single for life. I had a crush which I havent recovered from (didnt have a relationship with). With all that stuff that needs to be done, this significantly decreases the dating pool. I don't want to find someone who is "good enough" because that will be very bad for both me and her as well. So, I will be stay single. I will cope with my friends, my hobbies and my career. This is something that I wanted from a small age, but I know that it will never happen. And dont start telling me crap that everything is possible and it will happen etc.

Just a reminder that God convicts each one of us for different things. Some people may feel convicted to not kiss due to temptation or desire while others may not feel that conviction so they don’t need that boundary. It’s perfectly fine to have different rules for yourself than others and your aren’t a bad Christian for not having the same exact boundaries as other Christians, it just means that God convicted you differently:)

I love the commitment to the relationship and your willingness to work together. That is the foundation to such a strong relationship and why you guys work. However, saying that you want to limit the amount knowledge around Sex goes against your religion and connection to God. Following strict laws is exactly what Jesus was trying to avoid when preaching the gospel. He wants His people to be free from those laws so he educated all those who followed "The Law" to make better decisions. That is why he died for us. Understanding religious and tribal mentality is key in this instance. The more you give up for the tribe/religion the more you are not willing to use logic to defend it. Your inerrant viewpoint sounds more like a Jewish Pharisee than a Christian. The kingdom of God awaits you in your quest for understanding!

Jesus came to show them that not all traditions should be followed as they are more harmful than helpful. If you are starving as a fishermen, then you fish... except for one day of the week... see what I mean?
