- Xiaomi recently revealed the MIUI 14 update and we installed the MIUI 14 beta on our Xiaomi 12 Pro and in this video, we show you the new MIUI 14 features in action.
We installed the MIUI 14 Global ROM because that will resemble the MIUI 14 India ROM and its features.

Probably not, at least not from apps like App market & themes for sure.
Disabling power menu in lock screen is definitely a handy feature for security reasons, mainly theft reason, all os should have it .
Using evolution x custom rom. It also restricts power menu from showing up in lockscreen. Maybe pixel os has it too
Nahh just holds the power button and volume up 🤷 to get into recovery (kinda switched off)

They need to bring back the MIUI 8/9 notification panel. It was GORGEOUS.
It used to change the colour and animations up there according to the weather conditions. Brilliant it was!

@@kko9329 Not just the buttons, there was a whole weather preview above them with an animated scenery.
The reason most custom roms didn't have full support for Material You in Android 12 was because Google didn't release the API for it by then. I think Samsung was the only one that created their own theming system (probably the reason why we see slight colour difference between Samsung apps and Google apps accent colours), while others were waiting for Google to release it. Although it is available now, it's sad to see that they still don't support it.
Not only Samsung. ColorOS did a similar thing too with their ColorOS 12. Wallpaper color picking feature. It changes the notification shade and some other apps' colour. In COS 13 the Material You style theming is in beta phase which coats the most used apps in the "material you" style
Funtouch os also have this in Android 13.....and i am using it
@@samyadas3925 Yeah it has but it's limited to only some combinations. It's not exactly the material You style theming that you see on Samsung and Pixel devices. You can call that feature in your Vivo/iqoo in a beta stage.
Motorola has the Material You element since Android 12, it changes the notification shade colour, picks up the wallpaper accent and spreads it all over the ui like phone settings app, moto apps, gapps, widgets and multiple ui elements.
I don't think it's related to google not launching the Material You api as Motorola phones already have this in Android 12, I think companies are taking their sweet time optimising their custom ui to embrace material you

Weird I wasn't able to find ANY of this options on my Xiaomi 12 with MIUI 14!!
As a MIUI user, I am actually quite excited for the new update. I can see MIUI is implementing more customization options and features. They are also making tweaks to the UI to make it look more modern. I really look forward to the update, and thanks for the video :D

Many feature in miui13 arent in indian rom(atleast in my device). I hope it wont be like tht in miui14

@@kaito7132 I am a MIUI fan... you can call me bot if you want.... I like MIUI cauz, MIUI is simpler than other UIs & only bloatware I can not remove are Security & Themes app (Some Mi apps are useless to me...) but I don't use default launcher ... so that's a different thing... I lose some of animations cauz of different launcher, but it's better hide apps icon which are of no use, so they don't clutter app drawer... Themes are free & I like free themes & fonts ... it doesn't have confusing things... settings app is just way easier than any other UI.... I know I am admiring it too much & seems that I am a blind fanboy... but I am just here to tell that we all get our feelings attached to the UI we use... cauz in everyday life UI is what gives us a great experience... if anyone doesn't like MIUI, I won't say that they don't have a good taste... it's all equal... I don't use a midranger or flagship phone, I use a budget tier one... it got less features & a lot of things are missing in the MIUI I use... (I am still on MIUI 12, Redmi 9, indian version) so... I know nothing about fancy features... all I know is that I use a theme which makes me feel that I am using a stock android instead of MIUI & when I get bored of one theme.... I start using another... I haven't faced any bugs or app crashes or battery drain issues... cauz I use limited apps, I don't use CZcams usually (it's just in rare cases).... all I have faced is missing features & I only commented cauz you were talking about bots .. so that's why I said all these things... I hope you call me bot too!

I was using the MIUI 13 EU version on my POCO X3 pro a lot of the features you talked about here was in that. Great UI it appears wonder how stable is it going to make the apps feel like.

The best feature by far was the power menu disable option.....
They can do it in Samsung's and Oppo's way if they wish too... the phone can't be turned off unless lockscreen p/w or Biometric is used.

@@d1vyvnsh Settings >Lock screen >Secure lock settings > Lock network and security.
Enable it and device will asks pin/password to switch off, restart etc when phone is locked
It's not as convenient as the one on Oppo as that will literally ask you for bio-metrics or pin when ever you try to power off, irrespective of it being locked or unlocked.

Power and volume control under the lock screen are really necessary things for me ..
All well and good if they bring this update to India early enough. Even miui 13 was more or less stable in my experience but the greatest issue so far was the delivery of the updates. Imo, last two years has been the slowest years in terms of xiaomi updates.
I'll take slower updates over buggy ones anyday.

@@me.arbaazkhatib given all the fiasco surrounding some poco and redmi models, I don't see much good qc going around for the updates, then why THIS much delay? I really like xiaomi as a brand and myself personally haven't used anything other than their phones in the last 3 years but this is just sad.
@@dragonforcegaming7555 tbf, they did start fixing it, miui 13 was stable enough, and MIUI 14 is going back to basics and trying to fix the mess they caused.
Miui 12 was crap though.
@@omnihein9322 MiUI 13 still was a huge mess on many phones. The camera app used to crash completely on phones like Redmi Note 10 pro/pro max, POCO X3,etc. Just hoping that MiUI 14 does a good job. I really don't want to see FuntouchOS in MiUI's earlier position😅

Disabling power menu on lockscreen and ability to select text from images is a really welcome input.

Sad part is it still does not support the Android 12 /13 widgets and only allows it to be displayed on app vault.

That voice shutter was already used by some old Android 5 devices like Vivo, Xiaomi is actually reviving it again they are pretty much smart putting old features as a new in miui14
The main issue with MIUI Global Stable since the last couple of years is the move to Google Contacts and Google Messaging... The apps are no where as user friendly and intuitive as the native Mi apps and also bugs and have sync issues. To make matters worse, there is no response to app feedback.
Call recording is banned in many countries and that's one of the main features that comes with Mi dialer. To avoid the Huawei treatment, Xiaomi decided to use Google dialer and messaging apps on their global versions.
Being able to copy text from images is very useful. I hope to see this in OnePlus.

Being a Xiaomi user , I'm really excited for the new OS update. All the features you mentioned seemed helpful to me and i always wished MIUI to have those features.

The Incognito mode is a good addition to privacy...but given the reputation of Xiaomi in this particular sector, I don't think most people are gonna use that.
I think OneUI's and ColorOS's way of privacy is much superior. In ColorOS 12 we got individual control over the camera and microphone in the notification panel itself.

So what is that reputation Xiaomi has in that particular sector?
This is a modded rom called Xiaomi eu rom, and this a mod of the china miui which translates it and adds some china only features. It has existed since miui 9(I am not sure how long) and is not representative of the Indian or global roms that we have in india
Btw the incongnito mode is just enabling dev quick tile options so you can do it on any phone.

one thing only one fricking thing i want from xiaomi is that lock screen customization its necessary and good feature because many phones are now implementing it.
i mean there is lockscreen customization but there are very less options, like we need more styles with colour slider

you can use the themes app for that, when i had MIUI device, i could customize a lot with the themes app, even changed the status bar with it
Themes App Is The Worst.
Because if i apply some theme device performance and battery gets affected thats why samsung lockscreen customization is a lot better

A bit difficult to understand but with subtitles I was able to, thanks. Gladly you were not like many other CZcamsrs that post title in English and when you click the only word in English is "5G" or "subscribe"
All the features, i mean all are available in special edition of miui 13. I am currently using this special edition rom which is super smooth and has all the features.
Performance improvement is a myth
With each os update it takes extra storage in system and others section
It makes crazy slower than before
Miui 12 was so much faster than 13, not gonna lie
bez miui 12 based on android 11 which was very stable and miui 13 on android 12 which was buggy itself.
You'll get better performance...if you buy a better phone...🎉🎉🎉

Redmi Note 9s here and it's all great. miui 13 isn't any slower/faster than 12 but overall a bit worse for my use.

The besttt feature of all is the no access to power menu when device is locked 😭

1:49 I am using Mi 11 lite 5G NE running MIUI 13 and it has this gesture support for google assistant for quite long.

Im currently still on MIUI 13 Global (Android 13) with the Xiaomi 12 Pro since MIUI 14 isnt avaliable for my configuration yet, but many of these features sound very interesting.
Need the best smartphones of the year in each category, Eagerly waiting when it will be make is soon bro.
Weren't these features on MIUIEu and Chinese miui for ages? I'm using a modded miui 13.0.8 for Mi9 and most of these features exist already.
I think he has confused Xiaomi eu rom with global rom as most of these features were available on eu rom since miui 13
@@lianus8724 Probably because he's comparing a Chinese based rom to the global one. If he's using Miui 13 Chinese version then the features should be mostly identical.

I'm using Xiaomi EU-MIUI 13 on my Xiaomi 12X for couple of months now, it has most of the features you talked about. Like the demo video, haptic videos, Charging animations, The left side menu, Extract text from images by press & hold. So, I don't think these features are new in MIUI 14

I can make any dual app on MIUI. It helps a lot. In vivo I can only make fb or whatsapp dual app. This feature sticks me to MI phones always.

In case you don't know, eu is based on the china version and has modded features, so few of them you showed will not exist.

I should be finding out next week what I like about it as my first Xiaomi will be arriving. I was able to download the 181 page manual last night. It appears the phone may have a couple of features I'll be looking forward to using.

I already used All these features in my Redmi K20 Pro when MIUI 13 was launched.
EU ROMs are based on Chinese beta ROMs , you can visit and read it, it's clearly stated there.
And all these features are MIUI 13 features.

MIUI 14 best new features are:
the power button lock,
new wallpapers & settings icons,
compacting/rearranged settings is also cool but the quick settings panel needs work, a real refreshed revamp, one UI is more intuitive & fluid in day2day usage, scrolling & tapping on MIUI is just so clumsy in daily usage

MIUI 13 for me only has the torch on the left screen. And I already have Google Lens in the camera. Odd that others get new features in the new launcher update while I was using these features in the previous version in the EEA variant. Happened with MIUI 12 as well.

Disable power menu in lock screen and incognito. I'm stuck with my op9 pro for now and a few more years. I can't wait to go to back to xiaomi phones. IMO they have never disappointed me. Be it hw or sw.
My Favorite MIUI 13 feature has to be camera.... where with update the front camera can no longer be used in my note 10 pro by any apps... which even adds an extra layer of protection and privacy

Hope they fix theme issues for global ROM. Cause when I apply a theme, it doesn't change whole system. Even control center!
