Beatles are so overrated. Plenty of more talented artists who because they didn’t fit the certain mold the label’s wanted, were ignored after they made sure to steal whatever made them unique. .

Paul McCartney used to employ a Little-Richard-like "woo" in a lot of the Beatles' songs. And of course his flamboyance paved the way for people like Prince many years later.

Little Richard was one of the true pioneers of Rock. Back then almost everyone was an 'original', but Little Richard was a 'stand-out original.' I also noticed another original sitting at the tables, Billy Haley and the Comets. 😎

4:37 what an absolute legend and one of the most important people in the history of music. This is ridiculously good! Look at his beginnings where he was working for Greyhound buses and someone was like "Hey man you can sing pretty good" and the rest is history. One of the most talented singers the world has ever seen and his music still has an impact today in 2022.

Classic! Little Richard, RIP! Little Richard taught The Beatles how to "woooh" like that and they returned the favor by covering "Long Tall Sally". Little Richard was a singular figure in the history of rock and roll. When you're ready for more from him check out "Good Golly Miss Molly", "The Girl Can't Help It", "Keep a-Knockin'", "Rip It Up", and "Jenny, Jenny" along with many others. And for more music from the fifties in that style, check out Big Joe Turner "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "Flip Flop & Fly", and "Corrine, Corrina"; Larry Williams "Marie Marie", "Dizzy Miss Lizzy", and "Bad Boy"; and LaVern Baker "Jim Dandy", "See See Rider", and "Tweedle Dee"; and Louis Jordan "Caldonia", "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby", and "Keep A-Knockin' (But You Can't Come In)" -- Fire!

Early rock n roll is so good. Imagine being a teenager in the 50’s and you were brought up on songs like How Much Is That Doggy In The Window. The world must’ve felt so grey & dull compared with hearing this for the first time. Like a shot of colour & life. I’m so envious of that generation who experienced the birth of rock n roll. I didn’t do too badly though, my generation got grunge & Brit pop so not all bad lol.

Him and Jerry Lee Lewis (The Killer) were the Jimi Hendrix of their time. Didn't you see in the video, sitting at the table, were Bill Halley and The Comets, "Rock Around the Clock." This is from a movie, that featured a bunch of the early pioneers of Rock and Roll from the mid 1950s.

Little Richard was one of the key figures who succeeded in bringing Rhythm & Blues to integrated audiences in the mid-1950s, thereby giving birth to the musical & cultural revolution called "Rock and Roll." Along the way he, more than anyone, defined the rock vocal style, influencing generations of singers in the rock, soul, and funk genres. One of the real giants of 20th century popular music.

Thanks for reminding me how good Little Richard was! He really had charisma, great dance music too. Hard to find high quality film of him in early days, have watch the man! I expect someone else has pointed out Bill Haley was in this scene, sitting at a table? Nice one JayVaughan! Glad you liked it too!

That was Bill Haley at the table with a curl on his forehead of Bill Haley and the Comets.
Little Richard was out there, with the attitude, makeup and hair.
