Can we get an Impella overview soon? Thanks for you easy to understand videos!!
@@candygirl09ize It is on the todo list. Not sure exactly when I'll get to it. Hopefully sooner than later. Glad you like the videos!
Ordered a sticker! Needing to print notes now! Thanks for all you do!
@@meaganthorne0130 Absolutely my pleasure! Glad you enjoy the videos and I really appreciate your support! ❤️
I'm supposed to start taking care of IABP patients and this is all still gibberish to me but I'm understanding it bit by bit thanks to you.
I had a 4 hour class today and I swear you explained it better in your 15 min video than she could. I just love the way you teach. It is very effective for me. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. Almost 2 years into my icu career now and I still find your videos as the best learning tool
the way you explained part 8:45-12:45 just blew my mind, thank you, you're amazing!!
Woohoo!! Glad that was able to help! I was worried how it came out as it was A LOT of info in there but I did my best to try and have it make sense!
Just recently found this channel, I'm an ICU nurse in training from the Netherlands. And seeing that studying has become so much harder as a parent of two young kids, I passed the 40 year mark and al has to be done in between working/family hours. I am so happy with your very concise and complete videos. I helps a lot!
Well I'm really glad you found the channel as well and that the videos I've made have been helpful for you!
You’re a natural teacher. I love your work!
Fantastic. You are a real good teacher. And you set up the construct in a really understandable format. Kudos. Thanks.
I’m working on my FP-C. This is an amazing resource.
I’m so new into this, so I read my book and the come here for the good explanation of what the hell the book is talking about!
The best IABP waveform explanation! Learning/ relearning a lot on your channel. Mahalo Eddie!
Yay! So happy to hear this leelee! Really glad to know they are so helpful!
That last slide reminded me of the mailroom scene when he standing with a cigarette trying to talk about the mail. 😂😂 such a good lesson but I gotta rewatch that! ❤️
Hahaha, or that meme with the strings connecting all the ideas! Glad you like it, but yes, a lot to digest in this lesson!
There was a lot of information in this video! I had to watch it twice to really grasp the concepts but I understand them better having done so! I hope to be transferring to the CTICU in a few months so I am loving these videos! Great job!
Yes, it was a lot to digest in this lesson, and the next one is kind of the same. Good references to look back to as you get more hands on experience too and it will start to click more. Best of luck in your transition!
Awesome lesson. Thank you very much, especially for a picture with assisted/unassisted waveforms.
You are very welcome and happy it was helpful for you!
Hey Eddie! Love your channel and hope to see it go further! I purchased a sticker to show my support. Looking forward to future lessons!
Awesome! Thank you so much Chenille! ❤️ Glad you have enjoyed the channel and videos. 😊
Perfect timing! We just learned this in critical care nursing
Sweet! I love it when the timing is right! 😊
You are a genius! I learnt a lot and took heaps of notes ! Every word counts! Thank you ❤️
You are too kind. Really glad it was helpful for you though!
I love your videos. I am recently a new flight nurse with straight ED experience and have had a couple of flights already with IABP. Your videos have truly helped me get a better understanding of difficult critical care concepts. Thank you so much! Just became a member so I can take advantage of your notes lol keep up the amazing work, boss
Awesome! Congrats on the new flight gig. I've always heard great things about it, but never got around to it myself. Really glad to hear my videos have been so helpful for you and thank you so much for your support with membership!
@@ICUAdvantage one question for you...how do I access the notes for the videos? I believe I am doing something wrong.
@@LevoNeoEpi honestly CZcams doesn’t make it easy. Go to the icu advantage CZcams page then click the community tab. There you’ll see the posts for each week with the link to the Dropbox and the current password.
Thank you ♡
i love your channel. Invasive Cardiovascular student here and honestly your explanations aid in more clear explanation. Thank you!
So great to hear this! Thank you and glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the video. My daughter is presently in ICU utilizing this instrument. Understanding what the numbers mean has been a blessing to advocate for her as I am now here most of the time with her. We had a little scare when the balloon moved 3.5 cm causing some issues, but it was quickly discovered and rectified. I am learning about this and the impella as well as things are of course, subject to change.
So sorry to hear about your daughter and hoping for a speedy recovery for her! It sounds like she is in great hands.
My daughter has been blessed with a healthy heart and an extremely successful transplant on 08/02/22, her new birthday! She will be leaving ICU for a regular room tomorrow. Our God is good! Thanks to all of you who are dedicating your lives to the medical profession. You do make a difference and are appreciated for the long hours and sacrifices you are making. My daughter lives on because of others like you! 👩🏼⚕️🧑⚕️👨🏾⚕️
It was very helpful. thank you sir🖤.
My pleasure!
Great video, as always.
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
U are the best!
You are too kind!
Hi Eddie! I love your videos. I just got trained to care for IABP patients & this was super helpful in preparing me. Do you think you could also do a video on impellas? Thanks!
Hey Clair! Happy to hear you enjoyed this video. This is a part of a multi video series I did on IABP in case you didn’t know. 😊
As for Impellas I do have it on the todo list to get around to as soon as I can!
Thanks 🙏🌷
Welcome!
Very helpful! Thank you very much! Could you please make a video about impella?
Glad you liked it, and yes, I have them on the todo list.
U r legend
Lol, thank you!
Hi Eddie! I love all of your videos! Do you have any plans to do a video/series on EVDs?
Hey Shelly! Happy to hear you are enjoying them. I do have EVDs on the todo list 😊
So if A-line is connected, the MAP would be the total average of all Assisted/Unassisted pressures ? And if so, which BP reading would you rely on to titrate medications ? MAP or average of Augmented peak and EDP? Thanks
Critical care paramedic and this makes everything easier.
Cc plz, you are explaining very well, but it's too fast for me, thank you for your efforts....❤
Great video! can you do Impella device with nursing must knows next?
Impella coming soon!
Thank you! You're amazing!
I only don't understand why we inflate the balloon with the helium?
Thank you! I believe the reason we use helium is since its so light, its rapidly moved around, aka, little delay from when "signal" to inflate is started and when the balloon is actually inflated.
Can you do a quick run down video on the ever so elusive oxygen dissociation curve. I feel like there are not many good videos that explain this in clear terms.
You may be pleasantly surprised sooner than you think 😉
I am confused about that augmented peak diastolic...is it really the augmented peak systolic? About the 8:15nish mark.
How the mean/MAP is measured in the IABP? Which systolic and diastolic blood pressures are used?
It's not just a basic calculation, but total area under the waveform
Is there a normal range for the Augmentation pressure?
No normal per say. Ideally should be above systolic, but it just gives us a value to how much pressure we are creating in the aorta from the balloon inflating.
Just saying, I’m the first one commenting on this video. Great video btw.
Glad you liked it!
Albert Einstein said, “ if you can’t explain it clearly enough then you don’t understand it well enough.”
Yes most definitely. See one, do one, teach one philosophy as well. Theres something about having to explain something that helps you understand it more yourself too!
Remind me, it’s been a while. We titration vasoactive drips based on assisted diastolic pressure?
Good question. Should be using the mean/MAP.
Yea that was a LOT to take in for sure…
I'm the second comment on video 😂
Almost 😊
If you ain't first, you're last!
@@DaveBaldwin1 😂 shake and bake
Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much for this Cristina!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Rita!!!!
