Hoyo and Kuro are companies, not philantropies. They must make money, people invested in them from their own pockets and expect a return.
But to make money they must create value...and currently, while Genshin is great and improving, I see no reason to spend in a company which needed the competition poking their asses to start showing a little bit of respect for its costumers.

Hell, here's a topical example: Kokomi is my absolute least favorite character in all of Genshin, one reason being her design. I've gained _nothing_ by having her on my account. But if she ever got her old "Mimi" design back as a skin, it'd be a Day 1 purchase and I'd pull her off the bench yesterday.

aside from skins we need a better whale sink in the game. its just healthy for the game. I can give some examples that probably cant be implemented now
      1. make weapon banner guaranteed for the first copy of the weapon then 50/50 with pity
      2. add more elements
      3. Lock gear exchange in ToA
      4. add more weapon types like two handed axes, hammers, spears, snipers, dagers etc. ppl will need more 5 star options that way.
      5. add asterite sink. examples 60 asterites to rollback echo to lv 1.
the idea is to have something that whales are willing to pay more for while not ruinning but encriching low spenders /f2p experience

Result .? I got frustrated when i got the homa staff and used real money to get the Yelan Weapon.
I got it but at what cost ? 2 Homa staff basically at hard pity. Which means : 450 € spend.
I was so ashamed of myself i didn't admit it to anyone for a while. It's also expensive in Wuwa tbh....but when i SPEND i know where its going.
I didn't spend much on the game so far but if the game stays good, i'll be a light spender in it and im sure that's enough. Just knowing i can reliably roll on the weapon banner is reassuring.

4:03 I have to disagree with "outdated hardware". Respectfully I think you do not know what you are talking about in this area, and is quite misleading and blaming users outright.
Recommended settings are put as to much how they can get away with technical support. If your code is inefficient, it will run sluggish.
    I run both a new ryzen7 + 4090 + ssd AND I5 8300H + 1050Ti + ssd, and both are stuttery, despite both running at 120+ fps.
Some optimization are released 3-4 weeks after launch and it improved the game a little bit.
Recently I found 2 reddit posts about optimization. The first one is disabling a usb suspend setting, and the other tweaking engine.ini.
I did both and the game now runs buttery smooth.
The stutters are caused by multiple factors, one of which the usb setting was being remote polled by tencent's ace anti cheat.
Wuthering waves is a huge blessing, as it brings competition and better service for both games.
Unless you know UE4, and test games with both low and high end for a living, please refrain from making such comments.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm puzzled every time someone points out that a MASSIVE player base has a large amount of undesirable people in it. We're acting as if it's a new thing. Yet we have so many other examples, like the WoW "community", or BTS Army, or BlackPink Blinks...you name it.
That being said, the launch was bad. I have an R7 5700X + RX 6800, and it was painful on launch. Also, the 3-4 year old game bit is weird. The recommended hardware specs indicate that this is simply not a demanding game. So, imo, you can't just relegate this to "poor hardware". As far as I'm concerned, the game had some optimization issues, and that's before we ever start talking about the mobile experience. I feel like they did drop the ball on that one and to be honest, they might still not quite be there for mobile players...if that's a platform they actually want to capitalize on.
In any case, whether it's doomed the game or not depends on how Kuro measures success. As long as they make enough to keep working on, and improving the game then I'm a happy camper and I'll keep supporting the game for as long as I have fun playing it.

Even if i set all settings to lowest and limit fps to 45 - i still have those drops. Fps framerate graph is very bumpy, but using fps limiter from Afterburner suddenly makes it smooth as a butter. Turning on the DLSS makes the game literally laggy. I am inclined to believe that those who say they still experience issues isn't really the game's fault but most probably 9/10 chance a device/setting/end-user issue.
That said the compensation we got plus WuWa's complete generosity had a massive ripple effect on people's spending habits in game.

Disagree on the "probably 9/10 chance a device/setting/end-user issue".
I think the game did have some actual optimization problems. Now, I no longer experience said issues, but I'm unconvinced that my "R7 5700X + RX 6800" combo would have been unable to handle this game when other more demanding titles run smoothly at various settings. I built my own machine, and I consider myself at least somewhat technologically informed and able. As far as I'm personally concerned, the game *had* issues.

Highly disagree with your point of majority of players having outdated hardware data.
Even some streamers like Mr Pokke had a decked out PC that can run Elden Ring and Sekiro had some troubles with wuwa on launch with the constant crashing. So it is definitely not a hardware issue.
Your points on saying how the players expected too much from KuroGames is a weak argument and point. Because that is the market they are trying to target. Being an overworld gacha game that is trying to scoop up unsatisfied Genshin players, if they fail to appease that market. That's on the company, cause that's the market they want to delve in.
I personally dislike how Hoyo handle Genshin, and I do have prior experience with KuroGames with Punishing Gray Raven. But there was an optimisation issue that both Global and CN players noticed and voiced out on.
As for your point on how someone's 6 year old's device can play wuwa while others can't? There is a Reddit post that managed to figure out what was causing the optimisation issues. The game's anti cheat. And after much investigation, the OP even found out that players with certain high spec PC or devices can face optimisation issues due to system memory. So high RAM can cause such issues.

short answer: yes, long answer: absolutely
this game is a very mixed bag for me, in terms of quality and optimization. i'm a day 1 player and calcharo main, and i played on mobile for about 2 months cause i didn't have a pc (i literally bought one just to play wuwa cause i couldn't stand mobile anymore) and this game is awful on mobile. it feels like this is a game meant for pc, with specs that demand a long term, higher end specs to run it smoothly. i have an s21 ultra (128gb storage) and my phone became a small sun after 45 minutes of playing and would experience issues to the point where i couldn't even log in at times cause i was just battling lag, stutter, awful controls and constant server drops. while i didn't get the mobile breaking bugs that were crculating, i came close to quitting cause of just how bad it was on mobile but i refused to miss out on currency and freebies that i forced myself to keep going in preparation for it to eventually come to console.
i'ma say, i'm not exactly a fan of a game releasing in such a poor state and offering enough compensation for people to turn their heads away and forgive them just enough while they patch themselves into something feasible. it's already an issue in the gaming industry, and i feel like people praising the compensation is just giving the message to companies that they can continue to do this. while i'll never say no to free rewards, it didn't impress me. the game should not have released in the state that it was, it needed more time in cbt to address and fix the issues that ended up making it into the launch version. also, coincidentally, their first livestream was not great, so the launch was just double whammied.
i like this game, i really do, and i really, really want it to succeed and provide healthy competition while also learning from the other gachas it's competing with, but everyone and their dog that's hoping and praying it's not going to end up like every other gacha game, where you just log in, do your dailies, maybe farm a little, and log out in 15, 20 minutes is very naive. it will become that eventually when you run out of content depending on how fast it takes you to get through it. it's combat is really good, but that's not enough, imo, to keep the game going, and i hope kuro branches out and experiments with this game because they are getting the revenue for that to be possible.

The system requirements debacle was so hilarious because it happened before with PGR global first event but for a very different reason but all the same cause, reading issue. For context, when a new patch is released there will be two debut banners for the new character. First one has a hard pity of 60 but lower drop rate for the debut character. Second one has a hard pity at 100 but soft pity starting at 80 and has a higher drop rate. Both banners guarantee the debut character at hard pity. Veterans will always tell you to always roll on the first banner for debut characters. Well guess what happened, those same people who never read rolled on the second banner. I know I have an old PC, but the fact that I can play Ghost of Tsushima (on the lowest setting of course) without any issue beside a minute of loading when I first open the game while WuWa is a stuttering mess (also on the lowest setting) show you how a buggy mess WuWa is at launch.
And you know why Genshin memebers attack WuWa? Its because Genshin haters have been attacking Genshin way before WuWa even came out by saying things like Genshin will die when WuWa came out. Considering the game came out the way it is, Genshin's players now have a bullet to attack WuWa back. As much as I hate tribalism, WuWa got what it deserves.
6:52 If I understand your point correctly, a game that doesn't let its player play with with an outdated hardware is bad while its good if it in reverse? Huh???

Yeah, launch performance was terrible even for my laptop that surpass recommend spec, but they compensate (in other word, stating that they care about player) very well, so no one hates it. And the Gacha that doesn't aim toward milking as much money as possible. Sure, they won't grow as fast as Mihoyo (and the likes) but Kuro will surpass them eventually because a company aiming for short-term success will experience a short-term succeed, but a company aiming for the long-term success will succeed in the long-term. That's good business, it's been like this for thousands of year. I dont even think of checking the 5.0 since its kinda useless for me to install just to peek since im 100% sure that ill end up dropping it again. its a mixed bag for me tbh, my pc handled WuWa launch terribly lots of issues and huge drops in performance but surprisingly my 3yr old mobile phone despite being stuck in low-medium settings it played fine with minimal performance drops the main issue was battery drain and it was to be expected a SD870 is pushed hard with WuWa
So the compensation rewards was a real treat for me especially the plenty of astrites, additional pulls and the free 5* selector (FREE VERINA!!)
The way Kuro handled it solidified my position that I will support them the way I supported PGR they know how to treat the playerbase well
PC has become better with 1.1, I do find myself playing on mobile a bit more due to schedule/work and surprisingly it plays better as well

I played genshin since month 1 of release and to be honest I was blown away by the "generosity" of genshin when it comes to 5 star why you ask? I came from Fate/Grand Order (context when I started no pity but had Pity next month after I started F/GO at 330th pull so many 5 star weapon & character that range from useful to dirt poor level) then when I played Star rail on month 3rd-4th of release I was given a waking call cause of how much better the banner system in that game and see first hand the pitiful state of genshin's quality of life, then when waiting for WuWa I played Nikke and saw first hand what a decent developer's anniversary gifts are (it didn't help that I still remember the 3rd year anniversary when 1.5 anni of nikke is happening), then I played WuWa the game keeps giving me 5 star first 5 star Verina in 10 draws for beginners, then Calcharo, then Jiyan, then Encore for free, then Lingyang and another Encore from losing in character banner for Yinlin but they do give me Jinshi her signiture, and Changli with signiture, without spending anything (I also got Zhizi yesterday) and I immediately know Wuwa isn't gonna be making money anything close to Genshin I still remember the Staff of Homeless and how terrible that is and how scary the weapon banner in Genshin is WuWa Will not overthrow Genshin(atleast for the time being) but it won't die easily a good developer is usually awarded by loyal playerbase And for these reasons I will play wuwa till the game dies it move to my top 3 games I will not uninstall (F/GO is 1st cause I have a Stockholm syndrome with it they abuse me too but I never spent any money on the game and I still have almost all the best supports except waver and summer skadi and have decent DPS with my np5 Muramasa send HELP and probably send some dragon claws too while you're at it preferably the Dragon Claws)

I tried to ignore the forced co op minigames, tower defense and windtrace but all I was left with was pull new characters and farm artifacts. When I lost my 5th 50/50 to a C5 Jean during Arlecchino's banner, I basically said screw this I'm not forcing myself to play for peanut pulls. Luckily I look forward to story, Illusive Realm updates, and even managed to get two limited 5 stars (Yinlin & S1 Changli) and their weapons so Kuro has grabbed me already.

If wuwa had released with no performance issues it wouldve been WAY more acclaimed and wouldve hit hoyo games way more.
