With the amazing reveal of Shadow the Hedgehog being confirmed for Sonic Movie 3 I wondered who would portray him in his big screen debut. So I took 2 popular choices and decided to animate them. @@zachattack1279 LOL Not at all, kirk thrornton is a GREAT voice actor but I can't stand his voice for shadow at all, it's not good or fitting for the character as it makes shadow sound too old and raspy. Robert Pattinson's voice for Shadow SOUNDS cool and awesome as a whole while being overall young for the character.

I think Robert Pattinson is really good choice g=for Shadow. When he say's "Vengeance won't change the past" he almost sounds like Jason Griffith's Shadow, and I think it's fitting.
To me he kind of sounds like a mixture of both Jason Griffith and David Humphrey! :D
I agree, just with the movie version they will make him sound more epic at first and be abass rivaling the whole sonic team and be far more powerful and impressive than eggman. And they will probably develop shadow in the movie as he goes so who knows. But yea I agree Robert is closer and better to the og shadow. I do think keanu would be werid but he’s just more likely because he’s very famous and would make paramount more money after using Elba to voice knuckles.

I think a younger sounding voice such as Robert's would help sell Shadow. He's edgy, yeah, but he's mostly brokenhearted and lost. There's a science to sounding like a badass, but it takes a je ne sais quoi to make the audience cry, and Shadow's inevitable breakdown in the movie cannot leave a dry eye.
plus Pattinson’s portrayal would go well with Ben Shwartz’ Sonic. they’re both younger VA’s. Keanu would mail the role, but his voice feels too mature. Maybe if there was every like a stand alone Shadow film that wasn’t associated with that universe, Keanu would fit perfectly

Keanu would work well as a modern Shadow given how Sega likes to make him aggressive and vengeful, and Robert would be great for the OG Shadow who was more soft spoken and misguided. Either way, I'm sure Sonic 3 will handle Shadow well, given how great Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were.
These two are the perfect actors for shadow. But I feel that Robert Pattinson would be the main pick for shadow followed close by Keanu

@@Gadget-Walkmen I agree, just what about for knuckles. Elba sounds too good for knuckles and he still got to play knuckles for the spin off and the movie. He doesn’t sound much like the knuckles. We know from the video games and he just got in because he can do a cool deep voice for knuckles that people like, so then for shadow who is probably gonna have a bigger role than knuckles in sonic 3 will probably get keanu because he’s more popular and will make paramount more money for putting his name and stuff. It’s just facts what they are more likely gonna do. But who knows for sure. Btw this is my opinion, who knows for sure. I’m just stating what I think, so pls don’t argue. That’s what they did with sonic 2 so then that’s what they will probably do for sonic 3. @@sycrayt124 As I said, the voice actors don't have to sound like the characters from the games at all. Idris ibla sounds NOTHING like knuckles from the games but it doesn't matter as his voice FITS knuckles in his own way which is way it works and same thing will work if Pattison just needs to have a deep dark voice for Shadow's serious tone.
And I don't know if keanu or Pattinson will play the role but based on this clip they both would be good but I just prefer Pattinson overall.

I've felt for the longest time that Keanu Reeves would be a great Shadow voice, and I still feel that he could pull it off really well, but Robert Pattinson absolutely kills it. The Batman voice fits Shadow so well, that I'll honestly be disappointed if Robert's not cast for the role.

If the leaks are true, (i feel that I need to hear through official sources, like paramount, the creators, or the actor himself too know if keanu is definitely voicing shadow, it just seems too cool too be true.) I'm actually torn, both are really really good. I think it will ultimately come down to what aspect of Shadow will the movie focus on. A more rough and spiteful Shadow could fit better with Keanu, but a more melancholic and resentful Shadow fits better with Robert. But overall, I'd say Robert sounds closer to the og voice actors in the games.
True, true. I think keanu is more likiley to get chosen because he’s very popular and famous and they could make shadow a bit different on the movie and eventually change into the shadow that we know. Like how they did with knuckles and eggman. But I agree with this a lot.
