Although I am Roman Catholic. I enjoyed listening to Anglican songs. They have some beautiful songs.
we do sing this in our church which is catholic
@@andrewmatheson5888 okay. Good to know. I am from Fiji and I have never heard of that song being sung here so forgive me and also I got confused because I searched for Anglican songs and this popped up. CZcams confused me.
All people that on earth do dwell,
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice,
Him serve with fear, His praise forthtell;
Come ye before Him and rejoice.
The Lord, ye know, is God indeed;
Without our aid He did us make.
We are His folk, He doth us feed,
And for His sheep He doth us take.
Oh, enter, then, His gates with praise,
Approach with joy His courts unto;
Praise, laud, and bless His name always.
For it is seemly so to do.
For why? The Lord, our God, is good;
His mercy is forever sure.
His truth at all times firmly stood
And shall from age to age endure.
To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
To God whom heaven and earth adore,
From men and from the angel host
Be praise and glory evermore.
AMEN.
Thank you for the lyrics 🙏🏼
Thank you for the lyrics so that I can practice correct tune seeing lyrics. Wish you all happy Sunday service.

@HURREM sultan all people
@HURREM sultan I was able to leave Christianity/Catholicism to become an Atheist. I thank my lucky stars I wasn't born into Islam, because there's a good chance I'd now be pushing up daisies. No disrespect intended, just stating facts, but I still have love in my heart for all people.
@HURREM sultan yes, because we are on the narrow path unlike others
@@rotaryskratch18 Brother, may we know why you left your faith? It seems that you still like hymns?
How glorious! I love this arrangement. 🎵
May England never lose this Christian tradition. It is the foundation stone of the free world.
"Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,"
(2 Thessalonians 2:1-3)

so beautiful
Beautiful Indeed... I also get emotional when listening to these types of Hymns 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This hymn is supremely shallow. It attacks the human psyche with an emotional sledgehammer, intended to discourage careful investigation. “Inspired” people fight like spoiled children against wise instruction to examine the source of their “inspiration”.
TheSauce Group Not trolling. Reporting. Trolls are just trying to get a reaction, but I don’t need that motivation to report that there is nothing redeeming or respectable about you or your cult. There is no respectful or nice way to characterize this nonsense.
I am just trying to correct the damage that was done by centuries of undue respect.
You put that so beautifully. Thank-you!

Lovely rendition. I love the amazing sound of the pipe organ. The joy on the faces of the people in the congregation and the beautiful rendition of the descant by the choir are all awe inspiring. This lifts me to the heights of heaven. May God be praised forever.
There’s so much to love about the Anglican communion. If we returned to our roots of preaching Christ and him crucified, rather than contorting ourselves to fit the spirit of this age, our church would be in a much better state spiritually and in terms of membership.
It is tue for all Christian Confessions! 🌷🙏
I spent 7 very happy years in the Anglican communion during college and graduate school, but I couldn't take the direction it was going and converted to Eastern Orthodoxy some 30 years ago. I have never regretted the decision, given the way the Anglican Communion has gone even further down the tubes in terms of fidelity to the historic Christian faith. But I still wax nostalgic for the Anglican spiritual aesthetic in music, ceremony, and architecture. At its best, there is nothing quite like it. I would note that Prince Charles has a deep love for the Eastern Orthodoxy of his grandmother and visits Mt. Athos regularly--he is very beloved amongst Eastern Orthodox Christians. In some of our old prayers, we pray for "right-believing kings and queens" and often joke that when he inherits the throne, it will be him that we are praying for, since the communists killed off all of ours...
What direction was it going? I am an Episcopalian and part of a Cathedral Community. We do only great hymns, glorious anthems from a fine choir, and an outstanding organist. No junk whatsoever! I guess you have to look around.
@@normastevlingson1659 He already answered your question: the Anglican/Episcopalian Communion has "gone even further down the tubes in terms of fidelity to the historic Christian faith." Anthems, choirs, and organist are one thing; the Christian faith is another, and has been abandoned by the Anglican/Episcopalian Communion.

timothyj1966 Ah yes, the doxology.
Doxology!
@TheRenaissanceman65 Actually, it does. This melody to this hymn is called the "Old Hundredth" (so called because "All People that on Earth do dwell" is a metrical adaptation of Psalm 100) and the above doxology is very commonly sung to it. Metrical hymn melodies are designed to be able to have multiple hymns sung to is. This is an 8 8 8 8 hymn melody, so any hymn where each stanza has 4 lines of 8 syllables each can be sung to this melody. In the doxology, "heavenly" is pronounced "heav'nly" with only two syllables.
To Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The God, whom heav’n and earth adore
From [man] and from the angelic host,
Be praise and glory evermore.
@TheRenaissanceman65 Those words are sung with this melody.
I’m praying for All people on Earth to be righteous and faithful, loving each other despite our differences. This hymn settles it. God save the Queen and God bless us all.
As an American Roman Catholic of Italian heritage, this brings a chill down my spine for its beauty and magnificent praise of God. May God find for us the way to reunite those splinters of Christendom into the single family that it once was.
Your comment makes me so happy. There is a great divide between our branches if Christianity yet we all worship the same god. Thank you for seeing past our earthly bonds of hate and into your heart of love. God bless you from England
@@jojoclaff9313 No hate whatsoever! Just a joy at the prospect of possibility of reuniting as many Christians as possible. It seems so simple for, at least, the High Anglicans, Catholics, and Easter Orthodox. May God's will prevail.

Powerful hymns. It's sad however that those great cathedrals are being bought over by people who don't sing hymns...
I love the four part harmony and especially the trumpet fanfare and the organ combined at the end. The key is G major and the tune called the Old Hundredth. State occasions like this are unrivalled. What a soaring top G from the trumpet! WOW!!

Great hymn of the people of God. Glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, is our Lord and God. Thanks for sharing.
Goosebumps! Goosebumps! Goosebumps! Oh how majestic!
In the Episcopal Church in the United States we sing these hymns with organ sometimes accompanied by trumpet. They are as wondrous as these although the churches are not as large as these in Britain. I feel that we Americans have at least a partial claim to these majestic hymns. As long as we treat them with respect and worship sincerely.
To be enjoyed by all in a religious AND secular context. This is what makes me proud to be British!
May all those who come into your wonderful country appreciate it as much and be blessed by its Christian heritage. I'm eager to return.
I'm American, I sang this every week for years in our Methodist church. I'm in my husband's denomination now, and hearing it here brings back such good memories.

Adam Smith This may be the most insightful comment on this thread. :(
I think the singing of these hymns for most there is just tradition and protocol. Unfortunately I highly doubt these songs mean anything personally to many any longer. I didn’t grow up singing traditional hymns. These are glorious and I wish more churches would go back to these. Now most churches are singing contemporary modified hymns and other contemporary Christian music that I did grow up on. I would much prefer these hymns over contemporary.
I have not given up hope.
Hear, hear!

Waaaooo!!!! I love this song ... All people that on earth do dwell, sing to The Lord with cheerful voice... We had to sing this hymn every day, among other Golden Bells hymns in the morning assemblies, Karia High School, Kenya. Thank you Mr. E.N. The tradition hymns raised me to be the woman I am today. Oh, enter His gates with praise. Halleluyah!!!

Concur wholeheartedly. As the saying goes, "They don't make 'em like they used to." Those touchy-feelie, glad-handing "contemporary Christian" songs from the likes of Michael W. Smith, Hillsong, etc, devout and well-intentioned as they are, just don't convey the same sense of holiness or divine power & awesome glory of God that these old-school hymnals do.
Great Hymns.I'm never tired of listening to them.Source of inspiration for me as I begin each day.

America broke free from British rule for freedom of religion and speech. Yet today Britain has become far more spiritual and values their Christian heritage, while America today wants nothing to do with it. Sad how times have changed and how far from God people have come.
They broke away because of taxation and the gripe of not being represented in Parliament in London. The UK already had freedom of expression and (apart from catholics who were not fully emancipated until the 1820s) religion. You should see some of the cartoons satirising public figures at the end of the eighteenth century and into the nineteenth. The depictions of King George III and the Prince of Wales in Great Britain were savage. I doubt many catholics fought the British in the Americas for religious freedom in 1776.How many of the founding fatgers were catholic?
One of my favorite hymn but can't believe it's sang this way by the Britain's.Praise the lord
Today 's England is result of past missionaries sacrifice. Now it is our duty to maintain this tradition to generation to generation.
