Hey. A great idea. Weld a bar of steel across both bolts. Remove nuts. Pull up bar. Grind odd bolts and repeat. One man operation.

I’m building a replica fall guy truck to jump it off a cliff this July 4th. And your video was helpful as I have to remove or at least set back the bed to remove the dual tanks, hitch, and prep for paint. Thanks for your video. I like the humor added. Nice job!!!!

Best to use a breaker bar to break em loose. Impact will turn your square holes round.

Thank you so much for the lesson, "don't use your truck bed as a land fill" lol

The long bed has more bolts unfortunately. It really helps a lot if you remove the tailgate first, they weigh a ton. Don’t forget to unscrew the fuel filler necks from the bed too.

Lmao I was watching this because I need to add a new fuel tank to mine and when you got to the killing spiders part I laughed pretty hard. I did the exact same thing last night. Dang creepers.

I was able to do it without pulling bed but pulling the bed is a lot easier

Hit the top of the bolt with an air chisel real quick before hitting the bottom nut with the impact. Do not chisel enough to do damage, just enough to help break it lose

Weld a nut on top ofthe carriage bolt and put a wrench on it

  • @michaelabraham9177

If you've got room to put a nut splitter on those bedbolt nuts you can remove them quickly using an impact wrench on the nutsplitter

    Awesome video!
Could you hit the bolts from the bottom w a punch and drive them upward so dont make hole bigger driving bolts down...just askin...

Have watched your Front QA1 install.
I just saw this video, I see you will probably be doing the rear QA1 Coil Over conversion as well. I am doing this right now. Am taking my time doing it as to clean and paint as i go. The front will have to wait till January or February.
Good stuff though. My wife and i removed my bed with the assistance of my cherry picker.

@@hammersgarage Thank You! While it is all apart i am also doing the Right Stuff Rear Disc Brake Conversion.

  • @thecollectoronthecorner7061

Just liked and subscribed. I use a angle grinder and grind the heads off the bolts and use a punch to drive them down. You going to have to buy new bolts anyhow. Im not getting under neath and trying to get the rusted nuts off.We have several chevy trucks. We have video on our channel.
