Boy Replicades does such a nice job on these replicas. Great video, Glen.
Mine shipped, but I went with the original shape. I feel like my main reason to collect these is the unique cab designs and control schemes, so I always opt to get one fitting that criteria whenever possible.
Yea.
Why I need to order the original one next
Took me 2 whole days to figure out which version I should get. Kept going back and forth as they are both awesome. Decided to go with the dedicated. Figured I already have dragons lair and it’s the same cabinet. I do remember playing both versions back in the day. Dedicated was very obscure back then, but such a sweet cab. I remember playing the conversion more though. My old buddy’s brother that was our neighbor did the voice for Dirk the Daring. Remember him getting me a signed soace ace poster from Don Bluth back then. I’ve always been a huge fan of both games!
Great video Glen, 🦊👊🏼
Just ordered one today! Been waiting for this to release 😊 Awesome review / appreciate all the details you went over 👍🏽
I will say if you can shrink yourself down you got a good arcade going! Awesome collection.
Another great video overview Glen, it’s great to see these games in their original form. Great ending with Blue!
Excellent review, Glen!!
Very cool and well made! Love the Russsian nesting dolls effect at the beginning.
I was obsessed with this game as a kid. The one i played had black t-molding but red looks cooler.
Love it!
Enjoyed the video!
NWT with another home run!
❤winning review🏁
Great review! Do you know what is the next game they are going to do?
Order the original cab design. I’ve preorder so many I’m starting to forget what’s in my backlog. You hear anything on the coke machines?
I next need to order the original unit..
They are still on track the coke units
The machine looks nice, but after being burned on the rerelease of Dragon's Lair (I bought the original "limited edition"--and inferior--model from a couple of years ago), I'm reluctant to give New Wave Toys too many more of my dollars. Maybe if it ever does a Mr. Do!, I might give the company another chance.
I hear you ..I do. But man they just do such nice work
The original Dragon’s Lair has several features that make it uniquely collectible, particularly the replica beige LD player that only came with the very first run of the cabinet as well as the Replicade.
Zoltan was the first preorder to go live since I discovered the company so I obviously don’t have the original DL or Space Ace preordered, but I definitely wouldn’t be upset if I had one of the first ones.
@@GlensRetroShow Yeah, that's what makes sticking to my principles so hard!
@@ThorKCade The very minor differences don't mean much to me. And by that logic, New Wave could release an infinite number of "limited editions" with just the most minute changes--a color alteration here, a different decal there.
There's now always going to be that doubt whether your newly purchased cabinet is simply going to be improved/replaced a couple of years later. And that's poor form on the company's part.
@@pacario9625 I can certainly understand the lingering uncertainty, but my point is that the value as a collectible actually increases as subsequent variants are republished. The first gen Dragon’s Lair x Replicades may not have the benefit of all the refinements the company has added later, they were and are the only ones to include that replica prop. If you would rather have an Overhaul Edition, I don’t think you’ll have any trouble finding someone to trade with you….
And although the cosmetic changes to add the Cinematronics branding to the coin door and updated lid player could be seen as minor, the real reason for the overhaul editions was to upgrade the hardware to support second screen mirroring… is a pretty excellent reason for a rerelease.
Way late to the game here to appreciate them. I have Missile Command at least. There are eight others I would have got, so perhap$ better I am late to the game 😉
Lol I hear you
If you don't mind the blemish here or there. I understand right now they have a sale on slight imperfection units so maybe you'll still be spending your money. Hope I didn't just make it that way for you, but missile command is a great one
I have the original version but my volcano buttons dont light up
The original version they do not light up, instead you get the light up difficulty selection next to the alphanumeric display.
