The original arcade cabinet used an analog stick for sure, so it makes sense that the Replicade would use an analog stick. They do some gorgeous scale reproductions. Very niche, very nice.
I got mine a few weeks ago, for some reason I thought it was going to have a rotatable stick, but it's analogue right? I know that was quite unique for the time.
You're very lucky Larry. Congratulations on your own. No it was never rotatable. I had forgotten it was analog though the stick does feel really good. A very quality build from the wave toys. Thanks for watching. Really appreciate it
@@GlensRetroShow No worried bud, I do love New Wave, just for their variety, You'd never see the others releasing Food Fight. (also, TBH I'm sick of '80s Namco games being endlessly regurgitated). Did you put the banana controller on yours? :)
I wish these companies would stop shipping their products with the content printed on the shipping box. I’ve had a few things labeled like this magically get lost in shipping…🧐 looks beautiful! I wish I would’ve preordered this one!🥺
Normally I haven't had that problem, but I once had a package from Mattel shipped to me and it disappeared. The replacement came a week later and I noticed the box had the Mattel logo on the box along with "Games & Fun" plastered all over it. I can only imagine some kid walking by my door and stealing it because of that.
The content printed may become a problem once many people realise that popular New Wave Toys. That content printed says "Steal Me" in the thief's eyes.
Cool review! I have some numskulls but joined the new wave toys club today with dragons lair and zoltar. Food fight looks amazing with that crt effect. Seems new wave toys is passionate about the hobby and provides value for money. Great overview Glen!
I also keep the boxes. I love this game. I loved playing it on an emulator even though it was awful to emulate due to the joystick. Really enjoying playing this game and it truly does look like a work of art on the cabinet design. I almost didn't pick it up since its a game i didnt have any experience with. But I'm glad i picked it up. The gum stickers look great, I recommend putting them on. The gum stickers are hard plastic and feel like its a part of the machine when i placed them on it.
I may have to buy a second one with the stickers on. I always like to keep one completely stock then the second one I have no problem. Modifying it was really cool cuz I thought they were really just decals but they're not their actual little pieces that are self adhesive. It's really cool the gum
This is by far probably the most beautiful machine they’ve made yet. I really hope that they do a remake of their streetfighter to cabinet or maybe even doing world warriors cabinet or something like that. That doesn’t weigh with the white screen aspect. Ratio monitor.
Thanks for the unboxing. This is the only one I don't own (besides a few variants). I originally decided not to order it during the pre-order, but you convinced me to get it when they go live on the website. Two things they didn't mention in the original pre-order (as I remember). I love that they are using that simulated CRT lens and that it has an HDMI port.
Just received my Food Fight cab and love it. Great addition to my collection. Ps:pulled the trigger on the GRS flight yoke after watching u on Bee’s channel last night. Ty, for all u do!
I do have to agree that the glare has a big effect on these CRT effect lenses it's much worse on the missile command. Any outside light source including the light at marquee, affects it. However, this one is such an overhang with the food fight marquee. It really doesn't affect it there and does look like a nice little CRT. I will say the graphics don't look as sharp, but that's also a good effect of a CRT but it's definitely the quiet taste and perhaps in the future they give you an option where either you can get it with or without or make it removable. That would be a nice option for everyone.
@@GlensRetroShow I agree, letting us chose to add or remove it would be nice. The lenses seem to be a polarizing issue, I can see the positives for sure, but the glare kills it for me and the fact that it doesn't blend in with the previous machines as well. Minor gripes really, I still feel like I get great value from NWT's arcade machines. Thanks for doing what you do Glenn, looking forward to the new spinner-joysticks.
There is one thing puzzling me Glen, those 2 screen either side of the replicade, how stretched they were, yet the actual looks to be 4 x 3, were they screen from the build a Cade by any chance.
How did you get that top coin door open with the LEDs? Might feels like its welded shut. And the directions say not to use the key thing to open it since it might break off.
Some of them can be pretty tight. One of my machines it really is difficult to open up. It's kind of hit or miss on how hard it is to open but both do open. I'm glad you got it to open
Wondering what the best places to put a wag of chewing gums, under the control panel, on top of the arcade near the marquee or near the vent? Any idea.
The coin was inserted into the slot. Due to a broken coin mechanism, an asshole put gum in the coin return. Real life happens like this. I wanted to put that gum in that return slot. Those holes are too small for fingers.😉

It's definitely nice eye 👁️ candy that is also playable.
And a fair price .. they do good work for sure 😊

I’m addicted to these things. Mine was just delivered today so can’t wait to unbox it.
Now if we could just get them to take stab at the 3/4 market 😉
Definitely be a good market to hit people are craving a good quality 3/4 scale device.
Glen the Guru does it again. Another great review from the King of the Arcade Community!
Thank you so much Carl O for watching :) I really appreciate it

That bothers me as well. I've ordered a few of these now and luckily haven't had any disappear at my mailbox.
Yes I can understand that
.so far no one has taken my bills ... Strange lol 😂😂 but seriously..it's a valid concern thanks 🙏 for the watch 🙂

Honestly, I have every NWT make and never had an issue.

I think you will really enjoy it. It's a beautiful little unit

Glen, enough crazies and it is normal. I keep the boxes also.
😊😊😊
Mine showed up today too. Thanks for sharing Glen.
Fantastic Tami have some fun ☺️
One of my favorite arcade games as a kid. Had one in our local bowling alley. Still very playable.

Agreed on the curvy screen. Like it on the MC cab.
I'm jealous ! Lol, I want one!
I want one sooooo bad. I pray every night I win the contest.
I love CRTs but the lens looks terrible if there's any light sources in the room, it catches them all and the glare is terrible.

Would it be possible for a non glare lens be used without impacting clarity? Glen please have a word with new wave about this 😀

I finally got it. Man, that thing was stuck. I just had to press even hard on the inside hinge on the left.
