I think most people dont know how to use 17. In this situation its different because wawa is trying a specific thing and OB has a specific answer for it (wawa trying grab / counters + barrier, tohan beats it). Thats why he got hit so many times, youll notice 17 getting HBDed is not that common otherwise. To use 17, its not that difficult but it requires awareness. - When you call it in neutral and your opponent is rushing towards you, just wait. Sometimes it will get hit but its better to take the pressure than get HBDed, it will work most times tho. - If youre calling it while being pressured, press 5L or 2L the second you see it come out. It always absorbs at least one hit so youll be able to hit them before they hit you every time. thats all it is really, offensively its different. Im not sure how wawa could have used it different offensively and its cool that OB was ready for it every single time like that. Maybe call 17 into nothing to bait DP since OB is likely reacting to the assist.

I just realized how godlike this set is, Jiren vs Hit from TOP, Trunks vs 17 just like in the Future, and Gohan vs the warrior he once was. And by the world’s strongest player and the 2nd best Hit below Jin Kisaragi.
I watched the entire thing and I gotta say it’s like watching two gods of fighterz fight against and that comeback to 9-9 was crazy I be playing fighterz but y’all are playing a completely different version of fighterz👌🏾

At this point I'm more interested in what the other person plays than himself. Don't get me wrong, his trunks and gohan are sick, but it does feel incredibly stale the more I see.
He's been playing Lab Coat and Android 16 a lot more and he barely uses this team now. I honestly miss watching this variation just because he added Lab Coat lol. The 16 is a blessing to watch tho.
Then the next strongest characters will be overused and we'll just get a new meta, lol. That's _always_ been how it works since the start of the game and any other competitive game

After some nerfs and Bardock dropped, we saw a whole lot of Bardock, SSJ Goku, Kid Buu, Cell, and not as much Adult Gohan. S2 had GT Goku, Bardock/Kid Buu, and SSJ Goku. At one point it was all GT Goku, Gotenks, and Yamcha. Maybe with some Adult Gohan sprinkled in. S3 had UI, Kid Buu, and GT Goku because his A assist didn't get shot. Or you saw Roshi and eventually Baby on every team because of their broken assists. Stop the cap, bro. At the highest level of play, team variety was _always_ basically nonexistent and dominated by what was meta
