This young man is the hero beyond heroes! I lost my brother when he was 33 due to leukemia and it makes me just cry with happiness to know there are such selfless people in this world!
Ken is going to be an amazing doctor
As a 3 year liver transplant survivor I know just how grateful Layla and her family are. Thank you to all the families who choose to give life in their time of grief and all the living donors who go through tremendous pain to help others they may not know. You are angels on earth.

A beautiful story, both are beautiful souls. What strikes me the most is how actions pay it forward. His dad doing his best besides his illness and his teacher's story largely impacted his decision to be a donor, saving one life, and a doctor, possibly impacting countless others. The little girl will certainly grow up to be a good person too. Her parents are infinitely grateful.
It's beautiful that they became friends.
There's hope for everyone. When a story ends with such positive notes there's definitely hope. The medical fraternity, the donor, the parents are all the backbone of this wonderful story.

When my late husband passed very suddenly, we made the decision as his family to donate as much of him as they had need of. Trust me when I say, I think of those recipients, and pray for them daily.
I know my Jimy is smiling down... but this story is made more thrilling by the fact this beautiful child is growing and thriving.

I'm balling right now. I worked as a Microbiologist and Virologist for 45 yrs in clinical laboratories as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, assisting hematologists performing blood analysis for bone marrow transplant patients and donors. This end for Kyla is the part of the picture we never had the opportunity to see. I'm happy she has recovered and that Kenton was the donor. Was Kenton or anyone able to donate for his father, perhaps in the future it will now be an automatic process.

I not able to donate unfortunately... I have severe type 2 diabetes, with arterial, kidney, eye and nervous system damage. I am also a two time cancer survivor, with unrelated cancers-- something that rarely happens. I'm struggling to stay out of dialysis and not need a transplant myself. I do pretty well, with a dietician, oncologist, kidney doctor, etc on my medical team. People like this young man are the hope of every medical team! Angels without wings...

This is so wonderful ❣️ It shows how all these people working together, saved Laila's life. From her parents who took her immediately to the hospital, all the doctors who didn't give up, but kept trying different tests. All the wrong guesses, all added up to the correct diagnosis. Julia was awesome, sorting through all the test results, all the wrong guesses. And Kenton, with his great compassion, the doctors that knew how to do it, Laila who didn't give up! everyone that blessed her with their knowledge, love, and prayers... Everyone together created a miracle❣️ People working together made it happen❣️ Beautiful ❤

I know the Family and Hero would not see this but My Daughter didn’t have this rare disease it was Leukemia and she relapsed at 10 yrs old and had a Bone Marrow Transplant from Be The Match. My Daughter didn’t survive transplant but I am so grateful for her donor. More than the person will ever know. So this young Man is a Hero. The pain the donors elect to go through to save someone life is so brave. This young lady looked so much like my Daughter when she had to take meds the made her swell. Thank you for sharing this story.
