A little strange comparison at first thoughts, but I get where you are coming from. And in the end for me it comes down to the last couple of minutes in your video, which is why last week, I sold my Q2, Sony and lenses and settled on a Q3 as my only camera.
I agree, the Leica Qs just have that ease of use, luxury build quality, cool German design aesthetics and the images have soulfulness and depth that you can't get on any other camera. It literally looks like stills from a high budget Hollywood film.
The new X100VI is going to have IBIS. I’m leaning towards preordering at the moment.

The best Sony kit to compare to the Leica Q would be a Sony A7CR with a 2.0 25mm Zeiss. Thats something that can compete with the Q3.
Amazing IQ, almost as fast as the Q lens but the size is great.
Leica should introduce a Q model with interchangeable M lenses. 28mm is so limiting imo. That would be a great little camera then and far more versatile.
I find the video very interesting. I take 90% of my photos while traveling and want to be even more minimalist when I travel in the future. I have the a7IV with several GM fixed focal lengths (24/35/50/85). I'm currently traveling in the Salzkammergut (Austria) with only the 24 GM and 50 GM. At the end of last year in London only with the 35 GM. The equipment is outstanding, as is the image quality. But as a daily go out camera nowhere near as good as a Q2/Q3.
OG Q sensor is just amazing, with film like grain and subdued yet natural colors. I paired it with k&f concept 1/8 diffusion filter and it is amazes me every. Single. Time

I think that Sony alpha and Leica Q are complementary… and that’s good for me because I want to take a Q3 in addition to my Sony a7c with a long focal length 😉
If you have a problem with the arw raw files so convert them to dng raw files because it is open source using adobe software and this will help you with whatever editing software and it is for free if you don’t use the photoshop or either Lightroom of the Classic CC version.
What this video is proof of is that the Leica marketing works
I have both. I like the simplicity of the Q. Video is great on the Sony. Both have their uses. Both are great!
The first set of images ie in day light - surely the Leica ones were a little too dark? This was particular striking with the the bus station images 12.23.
I know what you mean, but its a matter of preference I guess. I usually expose for the highlights with my Leica (highlight weighted metering) and I kind of like the darker (sometimes more mody) and contrasty look. But still true, sometimes the images turn out a bit too dark. Well spotted though!
Love taking Q3 for casual shooting as it is lighter & more compact than my 7R5 which is getting to bulky and heavy for whole day use

You should consider A7RV, it shutter sound is much better than the A7IV. And the EVF on A7RV is outstanding as well, I think it may even better than the Leica Q2/3.
People confusing lens vignette with character.. pair the sony with zeiss batis or voigtlander apo for 3d
When are you going to get the Q3? :) That's what we all want to see.
The WB seems a bit warmer and the lens is closer to the subject in these comparisons. I see almost no appreciable quality difference. Now compare the iPhone ;)
I also have both two cameras, but I get used to switch two cameras for different use. And I agree with the procedure of editing, Leica is much more easier than Sony with my ipad pro's Lr

3 D effect? Get a A7R V and add a good version of the Zeiss 35mm 1.4. The Leica won't product that level of 3 D pop.
PS: who cares what other think about the brand name? Makes no sense.
These 2 cameras are at the opposite. One is a fabulous pro tool , the other a pure luxury toy giving pleasure to use. So use the first one for job -it’s far more versatile -and the other for week end and pure pleasure but don’t t compare them they are not comparable… like a Tesla can t be compared to a Porsche 911 :).

Horses for courses. Not quite comparable in my view but still interesting. What annoys me really about my Sony is the horrible menu structure and and in general the mediocre user interface compared to the simplicity of the Leica.
Also product cycles of Sony are are complete nuisance. Right now they are around 2 years at best and the resale value just goes down the ditch. Fantastic value for 2nd hand buyers though.
I checked the resale value of the Q line and prices for 6 year old first gen Q are still around 2k. That’s 50% of the original retail price for a 6 year old camera. Q2 same story not to talk about the Q3 selling even above retail due to short supply. Bonkers.
Do a video comparing the Sony Rx1xII with the Leica
This is the real comparison. For some reason CZcamsrs compare the Leica q2 with the Fuji X100V. This is a ridiculous comparison, IMO. The Leica q2 should be compared to the other (only?) fixed lens, full frame camera that also sports an exquisite Sonnar T 35mm f2 lens from Zeiss.
I sold all my gear and got a Leica Q2. I love it.
I have an A7IV as my main camera. I then bought a Q2 just for fun. Since I got it I've only used the Q2 and the A7IV has gathered dust.
I have now limited myself even further and swapped the Q2 for an M11, which makes even less sense. 😀 Now considering selling the A7IV.
It cannot be explained in terms of functionality or usefulness or price. The Leica just brought my Joy for Photography back
The Leica Q Series is not produced in Germany. It is produced in Portugal.

You are comparing Sony a7IV with Leica Q2, comparing price with a brand new Sony A7CII vs used Leica Q2? Aren't you doing a "Trump" here?
:D not familiar with the "trump" reference" but I hope the comparison of the a7cr and Q3 that followed was a bit more sensible. ;)
