Where did you get the pill case ?

You mention the pouch is airplane travel friendly. From my experience, any kind of tool, e.g. the pliers, wouldn't be allowed on the plane? Just something to check before you travel with it.

I have worked WITH fuji and have had fuji for many years... I switched to Sony when i stopped working for Fuji and now I am on the A7R V as my main body often with my 24-70 GM2, and although my hear always will be Fuji, my head and part of my heart now belongs to Sony... I do have an X100VI and still try all the new stuff when it comes out, but I simply can't see any benefits being with Fuji as my main camera.... :)

We don't have rain in the UK, we have liquid sunshine. Occaisionally in winter we have crunchy sunshine and sometimes even chunky sunshine.

I enjoyed your vid' and articulately expressed impressions of England's S coast Tobis. I chanced across your vid' stream after recently acquainting myself with a Leica Q2 after trading in a ton of photo gear that - now I'm old and decrepit, was burdensome and unwieldy. I had a Leica M2 for 20+ years from sometime in the late sixties and regretted giving it away to my ex partner in life. I still regard the M2 as Leica's best ever camera. The Q2 I got thinking I'd get to grips with its menus more easily, and it reminded me that a Leica looks like a camera ought to look. A pensioner now, with few means, I wouldn't be able to buy into Leica's M system today. But, good luck with your ambitions in that direction.

GR1 is a damn good bag, love mine. but i carry my axiom s2 canvas more. take that for whatever its worth.

My EDC work is a 16 Bullet Laptop. Incredible bag. I would like to splurge and pick up a GR1 Heritage in 21 or 26 litre. If i do, I'll definitely use your link.

I have this bag and even though its a beautiful bag its definitely heavy. I love it but impossible for me to use in warm weather. I also now have the 26L slate. Love the way you say "the missus" and "shitty forks" sounds much like myself. Oh if you need another one I can get you a nice discount. Cheers from Canada.

Unfortunately this bag is shockingly heavy, which impairs its usability imo

Xt5 and I believe xt50 are made in China also and I haven't seen many complaints on the x100vi either may be just you having bad luck.

The heritage is a really nice bag. The classic gr1 was always my grail bag and I was gifted one 6 years ago. There is currently a sale that brings the black 26l for $299. While tempting, I have a really nice broken in regular gr1 26l for EDC and video work and a 21l i use just for rucking.

Your sound levels were very low. It’s like you had a wet towel over your mic.

Dein Weiß Abgleich sieht komisch aus in dem Video. Zum Thema, ich hatte den Heritage mal ne Weile in schwarz (erstes limitiertes Model), in Navy, in 21 und auch in 26. Er ist mir persönlich zu schwer, hat zu dicke Shoulderstraps und ist durch das Canvas nicht flexibel genug, sollte man mal mehr als reinpasst, dabei haben. Und ein sehr stolzen Preis hat er auch noch. Aber er ist verdammt sexy, da stimm ich in jedem Fall zu. Es gibt aber imho bedeutend bessere und leider noch teurere Rucksäcke. Aber das ist alles immer persönliche Präferenz. ;-)

415 Euro für einen Rucksack, naja. Wenn Geld so dermaßen kein Thema für mich wäre …

A bag standing up by itself is a massive plus when you are travelling by public transport and sitting or standing.

My go-to for backpacks and accessories is Bellroy and for camera related Peak Design.

Not interested in the Q3 with its foldout LCD. Just not elegant and doesn’t fit in with the esthetics that define the Q2.

I watched your Rucker as EDC video a several times before pulling the trigger and bought a 1st gen 20l Rucker for my EDC. It's damn near perfect, despite the lack of laptop compartment. Now planning on getting a GR1 21l :)

Auto focus on Fuji is garbage and the menu settings are absurdly confusing but it's the most enjoyable camera I've used. Really feel like you're holding something special.

I think you’re more of a camera collector than a photographer. At least these shots were so mundane.

What is viewfinder cap on your camera?

Personally having shot film at 35mm and also Nikon full frame, moving to Fuji was the greatest thing for me. I would argue that 35mm wasn't the standard because it was the best. Medium format was in the past, but 35mm film allowed for more compact cameras and was more affordable, yet it gave enough quality for the size. However, with AI denoising and post processing software, we can get the same image quality and even better from a m4/3 lense as well as 2/3 to 1" sensors in phones. If 35mm was the smaller brother that was affordable to the medium format in the 60-90s, the m4/3 and APS-C is the same for FF cameras today. I would argue that full frame is being stuck in the past and used for more profits, revenue and generating hype, whereas APS-C can do everything that a photographer needs except in extremely low light (which will be set to change with AI chips and post processing). But I really thank you for doing this experiment, comparison and this explainer video to arrive at a very similar conclusion as many of the older photographers. And yes, I love the more silent mechanical shutter of the Fuji too. 😊

The only thing I don’t like is battery life. And the fact that half pressing the shutter release almost always produces a photo instead of the desired exposure and Focus lock. That’s two things.

The jpegs out of the Q2 are among the best there is along with the SL2s. The difference between the FUJIFILM and Leica jpgs is personal perspective. If you keep shooting both, over time you will gravitate toward the Leica jpgs as yo begin to realize the subtle but important quality difference. Leica has a natural realism, depth and rendering that is unsurpassed by any camera manufacture. The only thing we need to do is set the white balance - if you want it warmer for example - set the exposure and shutter speed. Photography as it is meant to be. The thing about Leica is this, the rendering is timeless and that's very purposeful. Images from a Leica will stand the test of time. Images from Fujifilm perhaps not depending on how stylized the individual user decides to make them. Fujifilm is not subtle and you notice this when you use Leica for a while. The only other manufacture that comes close to Leica in terms of SOOC jpgs would be Nikon. The D700 or D3/4 for example. People tend to need more and more and more. More colour shift, more contrast, more drama. It's the way of things these days. Elegance however is in the lesser detail. Again, timeless. That's what Leica does.

So i have the Leica Q2 and have been using it for my travels for a about a year now. The lens is absolutely amazing, but for travel I think I am done with it, and plan on going back to my Fuji x100V. The reason being, you have to underexpose almost every image, which renders the JPEGs unusable, and you have to edit almost EVERY SINGLE photo. This is fine if you have unlimited time, but when traveling I dont want spend hours on my laptop heavily editing the days pics. What are your thoughts Tobis as you have used both systems?

It’s been twenty years ago, but my wife and I took a trip to shoot a video project just three weeks before our first child was born. Seems crazy in hindsight! But it was wonderful. You lives will forever change for the better soon.

I really enjoyed watching the series. It has a really nice, relaxed vibe to it. I will be doing something similar with my family in August, when we do our roadtrip around the South of England. Will be bringing my Fuji X100V. Still undecided if I want to do a vlog and if so, what camera to use. Anyway, thanks for the videos and happy you enjoyed staying in my beautiful country (NL)!
