I really like Layton. And today I wore Layton Exclusif for the first time. Man, I like it even more. It’s darker, deeper, more “adult” and more animalic. It really stands out of the crown. All the best from Germany ✌️
Great description of both versions. When I first bought Layton it reminded me of a powdery Thierry Mugler 'Angel' for Men on steroids. I very quickly owned both and agree with everything you say. This juice is super-powerful, and can become overwhelmingly heavy if you over apply, especially the Exclusif. I go for a spray behind each ear of the original and a half spray of the Exclusif on the front of my neck and it's a great combo thats lasts and projects all day and into the evening - defo a 10/10 on the sillage front, and it can be caught 'downwind' by other people about 10 metres away too!. I do find Exclusif too overwhelming to wear on its own. Great fragrance and defo worth owning.

Great review, boy! I’m personally like Exclusif more, but understand it’s more challenging for people used to mainstream designer frags. I think Layton and its Exlc flanker are complementary around the year. For me, Layton fits well in Spring, summer evenings and warmer fall days, while the Exclusif, being a more woody and significantly less sweet version of Layton fits better for the colder days of fall and Winter. Layton is more for casual events while Exclusif feels for more formal and dressed up occasions

I got Layton exclusive as a birthday gift. The most expensive fragrance in my collection. I think it’s awesome. I find that it can be overpowering so 2 to 3 sprays is all I need. I recommend wearing something more nice with this fragrance. Weddings, dates, parties, this sort of thing. Not an everyday fragrance to be spending the day at home.
I love layton exclusif, i use it often in the fall and winter, it's great for when you said, I'll go for in the morning even if I'm lazy and in a t-shirt and sweat pants too. Later in the day I'll go with something stronger and "darker" like oud for glory, spicebomb extreme, or another oudy fragrance.

Thanks for the honest and straightforward answer. Layton for compliments and easier to wear. Thats the real answer we all look for when searching A vs B fragrance. Hate it qhen i watch a whole video for no answer to be given and say its up to us lol

This is a lovely versus, done with PDMs before the 82% Alc. concentration I believe. Maybe before Exclusif was Parfum, but it´s not anymore. At 82% Alc. .. we have 18% left for perfume oil and water and Parfum concentration is only starting with 20% Oil. PDM shot itself in the foot with the best sellers, who knows why.
Has Layton exclusiv been reformulated? I have a 78% version
Great review. My Layton was a blind-buy with no regrets. It's amazing and lasts many many hours. Great compliments too. I might try the Exclusif next time.

Although some reviewers say it may be best suited to fall/winter times, I and others would say it's also suited for Spring & Summer too, albeit maybe a bit too strong on a hot summer evening, unless one spray is used, as it does project well. I do highly recommend my new addition: Roja Dove Elysium. Perfect for all year round and very unique. An amazing scent & worth checking reviews. Some say it even beats The King (Creed Aventus).

I bought Man On Fire by YZY 3.3 oz Eau De Parfum and it smells like Layton. I would love for you to pick up a bottle and see for yourself. The fragrance is now going for about $20 but it wears like a niche fragrance. Do a review if you think its worth it. I would really like your thoughts. Point on Review! I loved both, but I reach for Layton a lot more than Exculsif. Have a bottle of Layton and only a 10mil decant of Exculsif which should be enough for a few years. My wife prefer the original - think the Oud is a little too much for her.

I got exclusif tried both and exclusif is better and stronger in every way than the original which was surprising. Just my opinion but trust me you can blindly get exclusif and it’s a beast which it should be for the price
I had just purchased my 1st small handful of niche fragrances, and Layton exclusif is hands down my favorite so far. More of a night or fall cent, it is formidable and aggressive, and has a raw dirty animalistic finish that I absolutely love.

Layton is amazing, the Ex is indeed Expansive and feels like a "perfume" concentration of the EdP Layton, like Sauvage perfume to Sauvage EdP

I own Layton and was considering purchasing a backup bottle, love the stuff. I've smelled Exclusif before and really enjoyed it.. little more dirtier and animalic. Literally just purchased the Exclusif 4.2 as I think it will be nice to switch it up a bit, plus the price of the Exclusif in 4.2 was cheaper than Layton 4.2. Wtf? Anyway, I'll take it. I also own Carlisle which is great. So now I'll have my favorite 3 from the line!

Just got my exclusif 125ml on my b-day, It's a masterpiece! only the dry downs are similar. not mass appealing Love it!

Sampled both, decided to go with Exclusif. Original is good, maybe I wanted Layton which is a bit less unisex, so went with Exclusif. Still have sample remains if missing out the original
i dont know if its my nose but i didnt like exclsuif at all, i had a sample of layton and enjoyed it much more
I much prefer Layton. Like you said before Dallas, the menthol opening is 🔥. Overall it's a 10!!
I found layton about a month ago and decided its time to condense my collection and start settling down with a few favorites. layton quality is just different than stuff found in Nordstrom. been buying fragrances for 15 years and nothing makes me crave a scent like layton does. going to blind buy exclusif based on this review. i know i'll like it if it smells anything like the OG.

@@tfromthasix1956 I personally wasn't a fan of the exclusif. It didn't stink bad but it just didn't make me feel anything. Returned the bottle I blind bought and followed up with xerjoff naxos instead and its a true masterpiece

Sample naxos if anything. Its the most potent juice I own. Like, tap the sprayer to your nose and the residue from your last spray will stick to your nose for 2 hours easy. Honey tobacco fragrance. It's not something for the club. Its real sophisticated to me.

Bought Layton blind and hated it at first but couldn’t stop smelling it. I figured I’d try it on and it’s completely different on skin, the dry down is where Layton shines for me. Great Scent and projection and for me, it last 8 hours easily. One of my favorites now, I gotta stop playing and by Layton exclusif.

Layton to me smells very similar to crushing some leaves (are they actually leaves idk) of the cypress tree outside of my house... It's this sweet green resinous woody scent, slightly fresh, but it's very close, immediately reminds me of that every time which is weird since as far as I know cypress isn't even a note in the fragance

Totally the original for me. Got an instant compliment when I wore it the first time and loving it since.
Layton has gotten me more compliments than any other fragrance. I've tried Exclusif a couple times, and it always just makes me wish I was wearing regular Layton. A little too dirty for me. I like Layton as a daytime Spring/Summer fragrance and Herod as my darker scent at night or in the fall/winter.

Exclusif by far imo. LE is less versatile than Layton but more elegant and mature. Darker, dirtier and overall more bad ass...

Exclusif for the classes, Layton for the masses.
I tried Layton because I love percival and wanted to see what the hype was about and to me it smells like cough medicine or Vick’s vapor rub. Didn’t like it in the slightest bit. Does anyone else get that or did I test out a old bottle? It was at Nordstrom so I wouldn’t think that was the case?

Let's keep it real..... If you're a cologne lover /collector... U don't need the large bottle. You won't go through it unless you're a heavy sprayer using it everyday. Always go for the small bottles 🤷🏽♂️
I have like 30 scents all in big bottle - because i use them everyday - trust me if you want to smells good everyday not only in certain occasions you will need a lot of ml's

I can't remember the last time I finished a bottle of something. And if I did, it took me at least a year and change. NOBODY goes through big bottles unless it's the only bottle of cologne they have 🤷🏽♂️
@@Edward.E.Nigma. i am collector and user. If you re just collector you can buy 7ml bottles... If you re a user this bottle will last for mayby less than a week... That the different - trust me i have maaaaany empty fragrance bottles in my house in im not even spray scents that hard - i spray it in 5 points on my body and mayby respray after it's gone. But im doing this everyday, differents scents on different occasions, i respray them if they are not performing as long as my day etc
You get your moneys worth with the bigger bottles and they sadly change the formula as the years pass by.
Really depends how strong they are and if they are synthetic which PDM are. So they go off after about 2 years.

Do not get Layton Exclusif as your first fragrance from the PDM house. I just got it today as my first, it was such a mistake as I couldn’t handle it. The scent itself is perhaps too mature for my untrained nose as I’m new to the fragrance game, and tbh I got a headache from how long lasting it is. It’s not as mass appealing but will likely be attractive for people more seasoned in the fragrance game. Earthiness is a great adjective for Exclusif tbh I couldn’t put it better myself. Too niche for me as a newbie

@@midoalboraey1235 my experience was limitednin that after testing it once, I knew it wasn’t for me, so I repackaged it for a return. The performance was great, it still lingered on my clothes over 24h after spraying it. No problems with the longevity

I love them both equally. It's like asking me if I prefer a great entree or a great dessert. I can't choose. I like to wear Layton during the day in the spring/summer/early fall and Herod at night and in the fall/winter.
