Layton was the only PDM I've had my nose on and instantly fell in love with it. Picked up the 125 ml at the beginning of the year for $200 and I gotta say, it is a workhorse in cold weather. You absolutely get what you pay for IMO.

@@dylanbaas495 i have some and i don't get that from cardamom. Been told by Aaron Terence Hughes it is Actually actual eucalyptus, and it is is pretty common in oriental fragrances to create projection but not everyone perceives eucalyptus as easily, which is why some only smell it as " vapo rub "

I am DEFINITELY on the warm weather scents side. I fell in love with fragrance because of its emotional effects and my having severe depression, so I highly value those uplifting, euphoric scent qualities.

Solid list Ashton. Herod is #1 for me followed by Layton, then I go more warm weather with Sedley, Greenley, and, yes, Percival. I love they Carlisle smells great from the atomizer, but it does something funky off my skin.
Great video. I'm right there with you on Layton as my favorite but I also love the original Percival. Those are my top 2 PDM fragrances.

I have Layton, Carlisle and Darley. I wear Layton and Darley in spring/summer. And Carlisle in the Fall/Winter.
Layton for sure. It’s mass appealing while still being high quality and without be boring. I think it’s also the most versatile of PDM. I even wear it on a summer date night. As long as it’s not a super hot night.

These are the 2 I own and I prefer Percival. Compliments galore compared to Layton, I think the general public prefer fresher scents in general

excellent review. to date i own percival, layton, layton exlusif, carlisle, and herod. extremely happy with all, and i concour with layton e, i wear it far less frequently. layton is my sig scent. may have to try some oujan, and i have zero fear of blind buying that one too.

Great video my favourites are Layton, Carlisle, Pegasus Ex, and Sedley - I like Oajan as well, but like Angel's Share more and they are in a similar wheelhouse, as you said. And yes, Layton is better than Layton Ex, but Pegasus Ex is better than Pegasus.

Orajan, Layton Exclusive, Percival, Greenley, Pegasus and Galloway are the ones I wear constantly. My favorites out of all PDM line.
I own bottles of Layton , Layton exclusive, Carlisle & Pegasus . I also own decants of the other ones . All amazing and heaps of compliments . Most compliments wearing Layton & Carlisle..
I always get compliments, when I wear,pdm Kalan.plus the bottle is stunning!!
I already knew the cold weather PDMs would be the ones that you gravitate towards. The ones you featured here are probably the ones I would probably be interested in.
I have 75ml been having it for 2 years still got a lot of juice. It’s a beast mode performer and you really don’t have to spray to much on due to how strong it is.
I'm fairly new to fragrances, within my first year of taking it seriously, so I was buying some pretty basic ones at the start. Then I bought Layton to introduce me into niche and high end scents. At first it was just too much. Smelled incredible, but there was so much going on there my newbie nose didn't know how to handle it. Now that I've had it a few months, worn it many times, and have grown my collection I can really appreciate Layton so much more. It's beautiful, and I'm absolutely addicted. A bit too much. Sometimes I put it on just to run around the grocery store because I love smelling it, and I gotta chill with a fragrance that expensive haha.
When I first received my Layton I hated the opening and still kinda do cos it reminds me of Vicks Vaporub, however once its past the opening, the smell is incredible, one of my faves definitely.
I'm in the minority I guess. Layton smells like Vick's to me, I can't get past that. My favorite is Pegasus
I love Sedley, it's my signature summer scent asking with Millisime Imperial

I recently found out my local mall have a specialty perfume store, so I went in to try ultramale. The lady starts recommending me creed, pdm and all sorts of niche stuff but as soon as I smell Herod I ignored all the other tester cards. I'm yet to smell anything so beautiful. Unfortunately I'm not in the budget to spend that much, but I still get whifs of the tester card now even though it was 3 days ago and everytime it's just daring me to splash on the whole bottle. What a magical scent.
Layton and Carlisle are my hands-down favorites. I consider both both Holy Grails. For something fresher, I am surprised that Greenley does not get more love.

I’ve only gotten my nose on PDM Kalan, Habdan and Sedley. And Sedley is definitely my favorite of the 3.

I love Layton, Layton Exclusif, Herod, Pegasus, Pegasus Exclusif, Oajan, Habdan and Akaster...but Godolphin is very underrated!

Agree with your choices, especially with your choice of Layton over the Exclusif. So glad I only bought a sample of that one. I really don't understand the hype concerning Exclusif, it just doesn't seem to work at all and I enjoy some challenging scents. It's a coin toss though for me for the number one spot between your top two, I love them both.
Really hard to do my top 5 but I would probably go Layton, Carlisle, Pegasus, Oajan and Percival but I love Greenley, Herod and Habdan as well
PDM Layton is the only one that I’ve tried and yes it’s awesome. I even bought a couple different clones of it from the Woods Collection and the Amber Oud Bleu Exclusife.
Layton is excellent, and I wear it in the winter but I also love Percival which I wear in the summer.
Blind bought Layton, wore it for one day, and fell in love with it and the next day I ordered a backup bottle. Friggin love the scent profile. Now I have so much of it I wear it frequently

PDM has amazing fall / winter scents. I currently own Layton, Pegasus, Herod and Carlisle. Difficult to pick a favorite as it really depends on the mood and situation but a toss up between Herod and Layton. In fairness to Carlisle, I haven't had the opportunity to wear Carlisle in cooler weather yet.
What about summer sedley?

Carlisle, Godolphin, and Pegasus are my favs.
Greenley, Sedley, and Layton Exclusive round it out.

Believe it or not I like both sides, seeing as Herod is one of my favourites. My all time fav tho is definitely galloway. The burst of fresh citrus just makes me smile every time I smell it
Layton, Percival and Herod for me. Layton and Percival work well on their own. Herod, personally, is nice mixed with Ultra Male or Baccarat. Dua brand actually makes a hybrid with their Herod clone mixed with their Baccarat Rouge and it’s amazing.
Agreed, Layton works in any situation in any season!

I got to be honest I think pegasus is my favorite - just the smell of almonds is gorgoeus, layton with that apple and vanilla just sneaking through - basic I know but they are just my favorites :)
I’ve only smelled Layton and Herod so far and they’re both amazing.

Herod, Oajan, Pegasus, Carlisle then Layton. Definitely my favorite niche fragrance house.
I wore Layton to work and a person made a comment that it "smells like frosting in here". Made me a little self conscious but I think its great.

I own Layton Herod Godolphin Pegasus and Percival and I have to say the more time I spend with each of them the more I appreciate every one of them. My favorite house together with Tom Ford 💕
I almost bought Godolphin yesterday. I really really liked it but I feel like the salesperson was pushing me toward Carlisle. So I didn't get it and bought Carlisle. I love that one too but still want Godolphin. What events or occasions do you wear it, if you don't mind sharing.
I smelled a few PDM scents in Nordstrom like 5 years ago ( Layton, Pegasus, Oajan, Galloway & Herod) and the only two that I remember are Pegasus & Oajan 🤷🏽♂️!
I do want to give Akaster & the entire Royal Essence collection a whiff one day soon !

Layton Exclusif is probably the best one for me, out of all PdM fragrances I've tried.
I have to say that Godolphin is severely underrated.
Sedley is my hands down favorite, I'm so in love with it, followed by Pegasus Exclusif, I too love it!

Have been using Layton as my personal daily over the past 3 years. Love it! Recently picked up Herod for the winter.
Oh Herod is GORGEOUS. You're going to get so many compliments with this one, what an elegant beast it is. You're going to smell...what's the word..."inviting". And that's a lovely thing to be able to do with fragrance. Not everyone finds a scent to add to their personal energy in this way, it's a fine calibration isn't it? To successfully match the idiosyncrasies of personality, aesthetics and body chemistry to the exact right fragrance offering out there is such a triumph, ha! In other words, you wear the fragrance not the other way around. It's why we all 'go niche' isn't it; to find something that really works as an esoteric wardrobe accessory and holds strange power. :)

@@AlexandStuff Oh no! That's disappointing. Some kind person in the comment section took the time to recommend Carner Barcelona's 'Rose & Dragon' to me, based on the notes I'd mentioned in a comment. I love a strong recommendation so I ordered a sample a few days ago and...on no, instead of a deep, leathery rosey oud the fragrance smells like a sour, metallic, rusty bucket. No, not the bucket itself; it smells like how I imagine the water to taste :D Horrible. I have to report this back to her now. :(

Parfum De Marly Pegasus Exlusif, its my favorite because i got a sample with my creed purchase before, i also got Layton Exclusif sample, i didn't like it at all, i appreciate that you yourself don't rate that much, i am now thinking of getting Parfum De Marly Layton thanks to your recommendation!

Do you think PDM Carlisle has a very similar Dry down to Kilian Black Phantom? I tried Black Phantom today & both smell pretty similar to me after a couple of hours.
I haven't tried them all yet but out of those I have tried...

not sure if this will be a popular opinion, but I've smelled the entire parfums de Marley collection (marketed for men/discluding the women's fragrances) and my favourites are as followed: Herod (amazing spicy warm addicting smell) greenly: bright fresh uplifting fruity fresh fragrance)- I like to call this grown men Versace Eros, because one of my first fragrances was Versace eros (I'm only 18) and the apple in eros is what had me hooked, so likewise I like the apple in greenly. Carlisle because its close to Herod (IMO) but doesn't have as much charm and doesn't peak my interest as much, then Oijan, its tied with Carlisle but I see myself wearing it a less than Herod and Carlisle, then Galloway, I love how it makes me feel and its not so dark and serious as the others, and lastly Layton, followed by Percivel- they are fresher takes than what Perfumes de Marly typically produces.

You’ve got to try Carlisle. If you love Herod and Layton I think you’ll love Carlisle.
Although if I’m being honest the first time I smelled Carlisle, there was a note that bothered me. But then I revisited and it became one of my top fragrances. I had the same reaction with BR540. But now it’s also a favorite.
Add Carlisle today and you've got pretty much all of PdM's bangers, all though in my opinion Layton can be worn almost year round.
I bought Layton in the COVID quarantine era. Before I got COVID I loved it. Post COVID and lingering scent and taste side effects, I hate Layton. Same with Office,Date Night and Aventus. My side effects have been getting better two years after, and I can’t actually appreciate them again. I still don’t like Layton because my mind tells me I hate it but I’m going to give it a shot. Maybe I should buy the Exclusif

I was very excited for Herod, but it doesn’t seem to project, or last very long on my skin. Maybe I need more sprays? I’m not sure. I’m going to try Layton soon.
