- Fully WATERPROOF FPV DRONE - it's an impressive, fun and very cheap upgrade for your fpv drone
#fpv #drone #waterproof
This is the fully waterproof fpv drone, step by step build with explanations, and of course we will make a test flight with a dip in the pool

- It would also be nice to have silicone around the camera lens. There were no problems when using a Polar camera, but Nebula needs it;
- Leave a small hole for access to the barometer if you want to use GPS with your waterproof drone. In this case, everything will work correctly. If this is not done, the RTH will not work correctly, or rather, the drone may fall from a height if it was measured incorrectly;
- if the drone is completely submerged under water, turn on the "horizon mode" - in this way it will remain in a horizontal position and will not turn over;
- the signal may be lost under a large mass of water
I like how this video is made. Really high quality video. If you run the crossfire vertical and a longer antenna vtx you can easily get out of the water when there is a pool noodle on top. But if you live in a windy area then your setup right now works better. Just less chance of retrieval.
Thank you for your comment. But all the problems turned out to be different - so everything is fine, everything works, but I built the drone quickly and made one mistake - I did not completely cover the receiver with silicone
And chlorinated water is also not the best idea 🤣
Thanks for your support 👋
@@WIL_FPV receiver I use heatshrink and fill both ends up :) also use conformal coating on the rx before that. So doubke waterproof. But yeah chemicals are bad.. You can find full salt water and pool water waterproofing method at flydaze (he is pro waterproofing dji03 etc) dips in the seq for a swim.
Wooww i like your drone bro❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi, nice video 👍, can you share please the video with the tuning? you said it is in the description, but I can't find it! thanks
thanks 🙏 oh man, sorry my bad. u can’t find it because I forgot to add this link, sorry. Done ✅ please check it again
Much waited video , thanks my friend ❤
Hey AJ
I hope u will find it useful - especially for Raincouver
@WIL_FPV absolutely yes 🙌
This is awesome.
oooh yeah, a lot of fun. 10-20$ and couple of hours and huge update is ready
Great video nice rip at the end!
Thank you 🙏 very much
nice dip!
Yeah 👍🏻 so much fun for $10 update. And couple of hours your time of course
Thank you for comment 🫡
Wonderful video! I am curious, did you leave the bind button uncovered or did you coat it since your drone was already bound to your controller? Also did you add plugs or silicone over any USB ports? Thanks, looking forward to trying this. I think I will use an AIO board to make the process even simpler.
Yes, that's right, I did bind the receiver to the radio first. And only then covered the receiver with silicone. BUT! the receiver itself wasnt covered, first I placed it in a heat shrink and made silicone protection from two sides.
Yes, I used rubber plugs for USB ports. And even covered a little with silicone. Actually, these rubber plugs are included with the silicone.
Thanks for these questions, I overlooked that in my script
Am with ya brother 🤜🤛 almost ready for wet test , im nervous 🤣
Ahahahaaa, thanx for ur comment ;)
At 3:10 what are you saying please? Is it you need to leave a 'hole' I.e. not cover in silicone?
Sorry, English is not my first language, and not my second, not even my third, ahahahahaha - I try to do my best)))
Yes, indeed, I put a thin stick, like a toothpick, to the barometer and covered it with silicone. As a result, there was a small hole and access to the barometer.
Why is this important? When we built the previous waterproof drone, but the first waterproof with GPS, we covered everything completely with silicone. The problem was that the drone was recognize the wrong ALT (atitude). Everything works, everything is fine, gps shows the direction, but not the correct altitude. Thats why, the RTH seemed to be working, but could disarme the drone at high altitude. A tiny hole for the barometer solved this problem.
How much weight did it add to the drone when you added the silicone? Did it make a difference for your flight time before and after putting it on?
I think this weight is so insignificant for a 5 inch drone that I didn't even check it. The flight time is the same
I've always wondered how the batteries are waterproof? They have a film all around them. But where the cables come out, it's not waterproof??
So, the battery is not covered in any way, but nothing happened to it either - it works. In the video, I cover with silicone only the power wires in the place of soldering to the XT60 connector
@@WIL_FPV okey thanks for the answer.
@@swissfpvshots u r always welcome
But I extremely recommend to avoid pools like the one in this video because of the presence of chlorine - no so good idea
Is it ok in salt water as well, as long as you rinse it afterwards?
it's absolutely a good idea to rinse afterwards, it's also a good idea not only after salt water, but after a chlorinated pool as well
did you do anything to the vista or did you just put it on the camera ?
Actually, nothing, just that place where solder wires
Where is the specific of water proofing of the caddx vista?
I have no clue, only practice tests
w video
What if my esc has heatsink? How can I coat it?
I have such a heatsink, I just covered it with silicone more carefully - it still flies after 8 months
First
well done
Hi! I have months asking for it. Where did you find FPV Worry Free???
I bought it on Pyrodrone. And as i know it is available on NewBeeDrone as well

@@WIL_FPV Thaats Amazingg! Thankss!
By the way, thank you so much for the PAVO20 videos, it helps me with a lot of questions about it and now I already receive mine and start making jobs to clients with it, It´s like the perfect size to start and build trust. thanks a lot for your time and effort making this videos.
@@andres.freelancer Awww, I'm so glad you found this video helpful and useful. This drone is still one of my most popular - of course, according to the conditions. This is an absolutely usless think for a bando, but if you want to fly in a city, maybe amoung people and want it to be safe as possible - yes, then PAVO20 is a great solution
Thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it
the vista is waterproof?
yes, it is
Any way to do this with the o3?
Yes, for sure - first of all you need to do o3 unit naked. after that the same process. But u have to understand that the temperature of VTX so high and probably it could work wrong in hot regions 🤷♂️
@@WIL_FPV yeah kinda thought that would be the main issue. Thanks
@@callsign_whitefox5146 I would also like it all on the o3
The main issue with the O3 is the braided covering on the mipi cable. It is difficult to waterproof and water absolutely will wick up the tiny wires inside that braided covering and into your camera and vtx. Either stick with the Vista or check out FlyDaze FPVs waterproofing method for the O3. It I much more involved, but if you must do the o3, then you need to go that route.
@@William_NS do you think thats needed for just a little rain?
Dopiero się kapnąłem ze to polski kanal probsy czy sie myle jednak 😂
It’s a deep question 🙈
