    I will never forget this game watching with my father. Last NBA game we watched together before I went to military training. He's a Durant fan and keeps trash-talking me while I'm preparing our lunch that time (PH time). He became a Steph fan after that game (bandwagon) hahaha. Good old days. My old man passed away 5 days before my graduation. I always watch the highlights of this game whenever I missed him. Miss you so much Popsie.

    There's another important detail leading up to this game that a lot of people forget. When Steph scored 51 on Orlando the game before, which was on a Thursday night, he broke Korver's record for most consecutive games with a 3. In the hours that followed, Bleacher Report published an article about an interview Oscar Robertson had on ESPN Radio on Thursday morning. In that interview, Mike & Mike asked Oscar what he thinks about Steph and the modern NBA, and Oscar said he didn't understand all the hype about the 3 point shot and said the main reason Steph is succeeding is because coaches are afraid to tell their players to defend. So yea, you could say Steph had a little extra motivation coming into this game

    • @mechanicalman1068
      @mechanicalman1068 Před 2 lety +62

      Yes. The comment by Oscar Robertson was dumb on it’s face, but was missing another point. Guard him too well on the perimeter, he’s going to get around you with unreal ball handling and make an impossible basket in the paint. One of the best in the league scoring in traffic in the paint. That part of his game, for some reason, gets overlooked. It seems like Robertson and all those who say he’s “just a three point shooter” aren’t watching the games. And as if someone who makes 900 points a year off threes is “just” anything. Please…

    I'm just honored that this happened in our generation. I never play basketball under the rim like how it was used to be played, but seeing someone shoot, and changing the game with his playstyle, just makes me happy that I play basketball.

    I think that Steph has been the best/greatest shooter of all time since the 2012-2013 season. I even think an argument could be made he was the greatest shooter (in terms of raw shooting talent) the moment he stepped into the league.

    Bruh I remember being annoyed I was unable to watch the game because I was on my way to Applebee's with my family but I literally walked in there at the exact moment that final play happened watching it on the TV over the bar and it was dead silent and then everybody in that restaurant went crazy when the shot hit, heard the double "BANG!" .. and that was all I needed to see to know that man was truly the 🐐... 🙌🏾👏🏾

    I love Steph. He’s the greatest. Haters want to diminish his skills and say he’s just a great shooter, but he’s so much more with his dribble ability and vision for the game. Straight GOAT and well earned. He’s up there with MJ in my opinion, the two greatest basketball entertainers in the history of the game. They were both just great and respective GOATs of their generation.

    To this moment i will never forget that day [ 27 feb,2016 ]. I was a hardcore k.d fan and I was happy okc leading but steph's injury which seemed unfair at least to me changed everything . Then happened the mostt unexpected thing i ever thought. That guy Comes into the game 15 min later . i was like omfg. i mean a small injury players get subbed out but this guy is unbelievable. then he starts shooting like a monster. his elegance , his composure then i told myself this guy is right here is my role model . this guy right here is the greatest. there will be neverrr another player like him. ever!

    The moment Andre Iguodala grabbed the rebound, I kept thinking: call a time out, call a time out, why aren't they calling a timeout? I see the shot and I say to myself: I can't believe that's the shot that the Warriors are going to take. And then seeing the shot go in was the almost amazing thing. A feeling I will never forget.

    Wow, I haven't seen this video before... thanks to CZcams for putting it on my home page.
    I remember this game so well. I've been watching the Warriors since 1973 and I remember posting online in November of 2009 (his rookie year) that Curry was certainly the future of the Warriors. On this day, a good friend of mine was having a farewell party as he was moving from SF to Seattle for work. He organized a two-stop night in Oakland, and we watched this entire game at Drake's Car Wash (really a sports bar).
    The place was going more and more crazy as the night went on. I still remember that instant when I saw Steph picking up his dribble for the BANG BANG shot and thinking, "Oh s*it, this is it!" I actually had my phone camera out and rolling for it. The announcer made some estimate for the distance that I knew was way low because I had just re-familiarized myself with the court dimensions. No announcer would be so far off today... they can't be!
    This game went from my instant regular season favorite to everyone's, and now you're adding on "The moment Steph became the greatest shooter ever." I just gotta thank my pal for getting us all out that night.

    For some reason the commentary sticks with me from this game, because on certain shots it almost felt like Mike Breen called out "bang!" before the shot was even through the hoop. Over the years I've continously rewatched these clips and paused at the exact moment he said it, and the ball wasn't in yet. He knew that he wasn't missing. Miraculous.

    Shoutout to everybody who was a fan of Curry before all the hype about him. I’m 21 now but when I was in the eight grade (13) I was a huge Curry fan. He made me want to be an NBA player along with MJ, Bron & more. Curry is the most pure shooter in NBA history. That’s says a lot considering we have Ray Allen, Kobe, Reggie Miller, etc. #DubNation forever

    My favorite Steph Curry 3 might always be that one against the Clippers but yeah, that one against OKC is where he cemented himself as the GOAT to me. That Clippers shot you could have looked at that day and said "well, that was some lucky bull" but he stepped into that OKC dagger like he was in a mission to jam the blade through your heart and that's pretty much what he did. The air in that building was gone after he hit that. Those OKC players were in straight up disbelief just like the rest of us.
