I have personal experience with a lawyer of Allahabad High Court. What was promised to be settled within 3 months was not settled over 2 years. Fed up with the lawyer, I withdrew the case. I learnt that my lawyer was hand-in-glove with the lawyer of the opposite party and, hence, the said delay.
