Anything attached to UMG is going to need lots of pausing to simply not get blocked in all countries. I don't care if you pause allot. It's good to go back a little when you do pause. Some songs, if you pause enough you won't even get a copyright claim. But if you're not worried about the copyright claims, I think you'll find that you have more freedom in the metal /rock side of reactions. Metallica and Nightwish reactions seem to do fairly well, whether you pause or not. But, just do you. :)

Yah I posted this story on another reactor's channel a while ago. I was 15 when this song came out and I had just recently discovered Metallica from Master of Puppets. I was too young at that time to go to one of their shows, and there was no interenet - I had no idea what they looked like. When MTV announced their first video would be World Premiere at 3PM the next day, I rode my bike home from school that day as fast as I could to get to see it. I rushed in to my room and turned on the TV to watch it just in time - I was so excited like a kid in a candy store.
Then as the video progressed, my glee got darker and darker and by the end I was speechless and horrified. It was like getting smacked over and over again and gone was all my excitement to see them. That's how much that video moved me.
A few years later, I saw them live on their Black Album Tour, and they showed a video clip of Lars saying he loved making that video and he loved how people just stood in shock not knowing what to say. That was me.
He was talking to a politician when he said " He is a product of your profession, not mine". He was right.
All these years and I thought he was talking to the doctor.
Tim is 100% right. The general was asking the minister/chaplain if he had words that could comfort the soldier - some words to say - and he just reminded the general that it was them who made this horror, not word of God. He wasn't being smug, as much as he was diverting the blame to the right profession.
His dad didn’t actually travel around with him. It was just one of the many nightmarish thoughts he had after being injured ... about feeling like a freak in a carnival show , and he had a vision of his dad travelling around and displaying him for people to stare at.

First time I saw this I was 16, lol that was 25 years ago..still love it to this day!!!
When I was 4 yrs old I got Guillain-Barre Syndrome, your immune system attacks your nervous system instead of the virus/bacteria that it's supposed to be fighting. I was paralyzed from head to toe for 3 months in ICU. All I could do is move my eyes. I was on a ventilator because my diaphragm was paralyzed and I couldn't breathe by myself. I couldn't swallow so I had a stomach tube that hung out of my side and attached to an IV stand. They poured liquefied food into to feed me. Spent several weeks in a regular hospital room before they let me go home. I had to learn how to crawl, walk, my abc's, numbers, etc all over again. It was like being an infant at 5 yrs old (I went in hospital at 4 and came home after my 5th b-day). It is very frustrating not being able to communicate. I would cry when something hurt and the nurses would just go around my body looking for something being wrong. Eventually they all got on board with asking me questions and I would blink for yes and no. Took 9 hrs one day for them to figure out that my arm was hurting because it had fallen off the pillow on to the bed, plus it was hot being between my body and the pillow! That was the day they started with a system vs everybody just doing their thing. #ArmyOfDarkness
I’m so sorry that happened to you. I hope you’re better now. If it had to happen, I suppose it’s better for it to happen when you’re a small child than when you’re older. Then again, when you’re so young like that and unable to understand why it’s happening to you, maybe that would make it worse. I don’t know. Terrifying either way and I’m truly sorry for you.

The overall song is based off of a story of a World War 1 veteran who was hit by land mine and was trapped in his body couldn’t speak, see, or hear as the lyrics say “left me with life in hell” and all he wanted was to die

I see a few people already told you that the movie footage is from a movie called Johnny Got His Gun. Metallica bought the rights to the movie, so they could use the clips in the video. The full movie is available, here on CZcams, for free, It's 4 hours or so if I remember right. I was the same as you though. I grew up listening to this song, but i never REALLY listened to it. When I actually sat down, and really heard the lyrics, I couldn't stop crying thinking of that poor guy. No way in hell would I want to live like that.

The jammin version would be a great one to review sometimes the video clips distract and takes away the essence of the music.
The video clips give good context of why the song was written, so it depends on the reviewer..there are reviewers who strictly do the music. Obviously this guy wanted to see the full version and not just the music...but much like alot of his generation doesn't understand the words...eventually near the end he realises but it's like he didn't even see the beginning clips of the movie cause his first few comments had nothing to do with the movie...and one scene nobody ever mentions is the girl...Obviously his girl (girlfriend) waves him off at the train platform....although they don't show her afterward it's a powerful piece a girl seeing her man take the train to go off to war...in this case worldwar 1
Music should speak to your mind and your feelings. If it doesn't make you feel something when you listen, then think about it when it's done, is it really speaking to you? Pause as you see fit, thoughts are a big part of new music.
