And so somebody else, usually from within the gang itself, tries to assassinate them so that the gang will embrace the drugs with the old leader out of the way

Montana's character is pretty similar to Vito Corleone's in The Godfather as well as Sweet from GTA San Andreas. Where all three are the leaders of their gangs and are the most moral in their situations in they all rejected getting involved in the narcotic buisness despite it being a lot of money because they know it'll ruin their own communities. And so somebody else, usually from within the gang itself, tries to assassinate them so that the gang will embrace the drugs with the old leader out of the way
