What is ASMR? It is both a sensation and a medium.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current, non-scientific name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally help induce this sensation, also referred to as "tingles", but also provide a relaxing, calming, soothing, therapeutic and even entertaining experience for the viewer.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect. - Hry

I got Operation when I was really young. The buzzer scared me so much that my dad cut the wires to it so it wouldn't work. Then I would just play with the game by myself and take the pieces out.
I would LOVE a Catan-Playthrough! My family and me are heavy addicted to this game, since decades, basically. And the extensions are worth every second which they are played!

2 things.

2. Who Does Nothing is sorta right. xD Bob Ross is essentially the father of it. But they are kinda similar in spirit sometimes!
Catan is great fun!! Wish to see the playthrough some day!
Edit: the dice are connected to each tile, each tile has a number from 2 to 12, and if you have the number of the tiles and a city/settlement then you get ressources from said tiles giving your material to upgrade settlements or buld roads or buy dev cards. It's great fun and really strategic actually! Then there is trading with other players that tends to get really fun y and leads to sone harsh negociations! Good fun!

Excited for the Rush Hour ASMR!
Came for the games, stayed for the relax and tingles. I'm convinced E.R. has in his DNA, the ability to give ASMR. Not saying that to kiss butt, just giving the man his proper acknowledgement. Many games here are new to me. Catan looks interesting.

Catan is my favourite boardgame, so many memories of trying (and failing) to make the longest road.
My girlfriend's parents are big into DnD and plan on having me visit at some point for my first playthrough. Thanks to a couple of your videos, I have a basic understanding of what goes on in the game. I couldn't be more excited!

I really love the game "Rush Hour". Used to play it all the time at this place I used to go when I was a kid. There's an iOS game called "Blue Block" which is a great, really relaxing version of it that I recommend. It used to be free, and it very well may still be!

No way! I fucking love rush hour, i used to play it all the time, that's awesome that you have one too, I've lost a lot cars over the years though.
Python Fluxx is so much fun! Even more so with some random friends and a few good beers!
If you havn't played it, I can't recommend "Battletech"enough. It's a miniatures war game set in the far future with giant robots. You can find a great starter box on amazon for between 50-80 bucks. It has tons of depth, but almost all of it is optional. You can have a game so light it takes 45 minutes or a game that takes days because you added the rules for artillery and aircraft and minefields and the economy system. And if you like the setting, there are dozens of novels and dozens more sourcebooks and handbooks full of lore. Plus the amazing mechwarrior spinoff video game franchise.

I've always wanted to try out the D&D system. My first introduction to tabletop RPGs was with Pathfinder, which kinda doesn't make sense because it's a bit more complicated, but it's what my friends were into at the time. I've also done gurps, mutants and masterminds, and call of Cthulhu, but never D&D. Speaking of, you should check out the call of Cthulhu tabletop game. It's fun, though it is definitely horror oriented, so I'm not sure you'd want to introduce it to your son right away.
E.R, have you tried the Arkham Horror board game by Fantasy Flight? It's great fun - lots of interesting happenings on the encounter/event cards to read out. Plus, there are a bunch of expansions (like Innsmouth!) you can get to go with the base game with extra boards, more ancient ones to fight and characters to play as! It can make the game a little hectic with multiple expansions in play but it's really good fun! :)

steve jackson was definitely an innovator of many games, but not part of the original D&D crew with gary gygax in the early 70s. Jackson created the second complete rpg, Tunnels and Trolls, as D&D's biggsst competitor a few years after D&D came out. His biggest contribution to games is mostly unsung, but it is GURPS, Generic Universal Roleplaying System. It has been incorporated as the template for both the Fallout and Star Wars console/pc games series, so it could be said that it is the most unintentionally popular rpg system ever.
Would you be interested in adapting some kind of D&D stuff into an ASMR RP? That'd be pretty amazing.

Ephemeral, have you watched 'critical role' before? If you like/used to like DnD, you should really check out critical role on geek and sundry's CZcams or twitch channel, cause its bloody brilliant! I wasnt too into DnD until I watched it, cause it also has one of the best dungeon masters imaginable (as well as the fact that him and the others are accomplished and hilarious voice actors and whatnot). But yeah it's pretty cool, you should check it out. Hell it would be awesome to have a critical role type dnd video series/once-off video but except in a asmr type way with asmr artists like you, that would be pretty badass!
