Batroun (Arabic: البترون‎) is located in northern Lebanon on the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the longest continuously inhabited cities in the world, dating back to the 14th century BC. It was founded by the Phoenicians and was an important port city in ancient times.
Today, the city is the center of nightlife in northern Lebanon. There are many clubs, pubs and restaurants here. The city is alive both day and night. In the summer, numerous concerts and festivals are organized here.
On the way to the city, we will discover the remains of the old railway that once connected the port cities of Lebanon.

In Batroun, you can find reminders of the city's rich past at every step. The most important monuments include:
- ancient Phoenician wall that served to protect the city from sea tides
- Greek Orthodox church of Our Lady of the Sea, located by the shore
- monumental Maronite cathedral of St. Stephen, from which you can admire the fishing port
- a traditional Arab souk (market) from the 19th century
- old Phoenician Fort, where the Diaspora Museum and restaurants serving traditional Lebanese cuisine are located
The beaches located in Batroun and the surrounding area are some of the most beautiful in Lebanon. The sea here is very clean, and water sports fans can take advantage of the wide range of attractions available here, such as jet skis and diving. We can choose from wild rocky, pebble and sandy beaches.
Batroun is also famous for its wine. You can go on a trip to one of the nearby wineries to learn the secrets of production and taste local wines.
