Is Barry, teaching us how to cook!? I am so proud of you Barry!
I love it when they scrape their bowls clean instead of wasting them XD I get annoyed when some videos don't do that like nooooo there's more left XD
Thank you SORTED!! I made this for breakfast and it was GLORIOUS!
Yesss. Avocados everyday, so good.
For my avocado toast, I take an avocado and a can of chickpeas and blitz them together with lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Then serve on toast with a fried egg. It's delicious and lasts all week!
Sounds nice, but I can't imagine it looks a pretty colour! xD
RDubs15 lemon juice helps it keep the color
theloveandlogic it's about as pretty as regular smashed avocado lol
mandi me is right - lemon juice does help it keep its color. When you store it, cover the avocado with lemon juice and then press cling film onto the top. It won't stop the oxidizing, but it'll slow it down :)
That is so smart omg. I can save heaps on avo on toast thanks!!
Can you find the ingredients in the dump you take 18 hours later, or is it your only plan to make stupid comments on the internet. Who gives a shit, if not you?
thats annoying... i wanted exactly that for breakfast but i only had old bread. Life of a broke student :D
FreakShowKirby microwaving bread can soften it a whole lot :D
Cool trick, i´ll definitely try that! Thank you :)
FreakShowKirby also you could always make it into croutons for your salad :) (oil of preference, salt/seasoning, toast it, break it into pieces, perfect croutons and no foodwaste)
Don't just microwave it. Google how to properly "revive" stale bread. Water + oven = bread good as fresh :)
EMitkus of course this would be the "propper" way but if you just have a small piece of bread left and you want to soften it a microwave is much better :P a whole loaf or half loaf gets better with the oven if course but if you are gonna toast it anyway it doesn't matter :P also she said she is a student and may not have an oven :)
I made something similar on Tuesday and I am so proud that I almost add the same things to the avocado mash ! (only added tomato). Watching SortedFood for like 5 years (or more ?) was not a waste !
For some reason I always thought poaching eggs was much harder but after watching this yesterday I made this for my breakfast this morning it was so easy and so delicious!! Thanks guys. :)
Healthy. Easy. And delicious. Thanks for sharing!! ♥
What I really love is avocado seasoned with ground papaya kernels instead of pepper. They are still kind of pepery, but it adds a nice touch...
My studio apartment doesn't come with a toaster and that grill tril sounds SO HELPFUL. THANK YOU
Thank you so much this look bomb
I made this today, and it was sooo good!
looks so good!
Simple quick and a beautiful breakfast recipe... Will try it!
I making this for Mothers Day - Thanks Sorted Food!
Ciabatta is such a nice choice for this dish, crusty, rich and sturdy! Lots of room for beautiful toppings.
Omg.made it was so good!!!! Thank you!!!
Esse sotaque britânico é maravilhoso 😍
This sunday it is mothersday in the netherlands, so this timing is perfect!
I just made this for my mum for Mother's Day! She absolutely loved it. Thank you!
Unfortunately I don't really like avocado nor coriander, so I didn't taste it myself...
Awesome!
This looks really good.
this looks amazimg
That looks delicious
that's really fast and simple) love you guys;) great recipe
That's perfect for Mother's Day in two days!
Just made this for tea and it was my first time making poached eggs... they're actually pretty easy! This was really tasty, can't wait to mix it up next time and add a few extra things :-)
Avocado is such a glorious thing. You can never have too much of it. It can go with pretty much any sort of cooked breakfast. It's just legendary. Add it to BLTs, add it to toast (honestly a light bit of Vegemite with it is so amazing), stick it on the side of your bacon and eggs... one of the true fruits of the gods.
Going to make this now
Yummy love avocado 🥑
awesome video guys! now i have my breakfast planned for tomorrow
Such an Aussie staple!
You guys made it look soo easy to poach the eggs..will give it a try this time..wish me luck..anyway, such yummy recipe..thanks for the video..take care stay safe guys😷🌷
A friend of mine has the "coriander tastes like soap" gene so we usually substitute fresh parsley (I'll garnish mine with a bit of coriander, though.) We also like a dash of heat (cayenne or sriracha) in the avocado. I love these recipes. Lots of opportunities to Level Up on our own.
This recipe makes me really sorry I'm allergic to avocado. Looks so good!
that looks so damn good, definitely making this somewhere this week!
I've not had avocado for years. Last time I tried it, it reminded me of eating candles haha. Should try it again though, taste buds change and all that. Good job lads, nice poached eggs! 🍳👌
Adams Eats unripe avocado have that kinda "soapy" taste :P they should be nice and matt when you cut them open, when they are shiny and wet they are not too good (but with enough seasoning they can work)
Oh yes I realise that now. Just not really thought of trying them again. Maybe I'll do a video of me trying one again. I did read once too, that there's 4 different varieties of avocado as well!
Adams Eats love your channel !!!
Sushi Wasabi Thank you so much! 😀
Helvetica09 hmmm so that must be why I've never understood the whole avocado craze, I've only tasted unripened avocado!
Perfect time to make this guys!.. I need to impress 3 investor for my restaurant with avocado toast tomorrow!..
Mmmm yummy.. All those various brown bits and skin of the avacado really elevate the whole thing!
So good!
I'm about to make some right now. Need my healthy munchies after my wake n bake mmmmm
Hmm das sieht sehr lecker aus , müssen sie unbedingt ausprobieren, ich habe auch versucht zum kochen das gleiche und ich ❤️ i love it
incrível!!!!!!
Wow thanks thats so helpfull i dindt know how to mash an avocado 😱
I made this for my family for mother's day they said its the best avocado toast they'd ever had. Thank you!
Note I added a bit of salt to the avocado before spreading I think it helped
Great Avocado recipe. Big Like for this yummy video ;-)
SMASHED AVO? I'm an Australian! Too rich for my blood, I'm saving up. #Auspol
Cameron Barlin substitute with 3 spiders and a dash of milk and blend until pastey
Literally my breakfast every day...
Was literally my breakfast and lunch today
14 % checking in! Parsley, the way forward in food.
Nice and yes places change you a fortune for something so simple and easy. Viva cooking at home :-)
I like how they always compliment the food, but never compliment Ben
I just made it today
:) love you guys Sorted Food you guys are awesome... Ben Barry Jamie and the other one ( Mikey ) :D
yum😊
When poaching my eggs i prefer to give the bubbling water a good swirl and I then drop my egg into the middle. That way the whites of the eggs sticks to the yolk and gives a really nice look, in my opinion.
I just added some red onion to the avocado mix. Quite a good combination.
So nice
"This is a portion for one" ... I guess I'm half a person 😂 looks delicious will give a try when I am next home and make it for my mum 😊
Cool 😊😊
im making this
I wish I could see a super cut of Barry tasting food. I laugh every time.
you guys have saved my life 😂
I live for this channel and I just realized I wasn’t subscribed......now I am 😂
I always have lime in the freezer in case gin tonic happens. - Ebbers School of life
I'm starting to learn how to cook at school, and I have problems with cutting julliene and other basic cutting techniques. it would be lovely if u could show how to do it.
good job
I've got to stop watching these videos when i'm hungry.
I swear Quick Meals week has been more breakfast-like than Breakfast Week
@SORTEDfood my poached eggs always seem to end up in white ribbons floating around the yolk, how do i keep the white as a solid unit? much love x
About to give it a go! no coriander in the gaff tho, will use basil instead and let you know lads x
To cut an avocado more efficiently hit the pit win your knife so it gets stuck in and rotate at pull it out. Then once the pits out make a sliver in the tip of the peel and peel it. This is so much easier and you'll waste no flesh at all
I do this, but add balsamic pickled red onions, and its sooo damn good.
You guys should come to Chile, we have the best avocado in the world!!!
No you don’t I do. They’re in my fridge.
Philippines left the chat 😂😂
i love the now cook it series although at the end of every recipe you are missing something (sorted)
Omg I'm early! Time to come up with a joke!
Just kidding, I'm not much for yolking around
I'd say that's still a great YOLK
That's a solid yolk, although I prefer mine runny
Made this but now I can't afford a house ????
Is that a Funhaus reference? Nice
Avocados are expensive.
@@muhamedjones122 Not where I live (Missouri) in the winter - at Aldi about 79 cents each.
@@tdoran
Well see you live in Missouri. I've lived in both New York and California. Avocados are like 3 for 6 dollars.
@@muhamedjones122 If they cost that here I wouldn't know what they tasted like!
That accent ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you put the eggs into the water (whilst in the shell) and stir them around for 15-20 seconds it gives them just enough extra firmness to help them cook when you crack them in. Other tips are, use a deep pan, so that when the eggs enter the water and sink, they cook as they drop; it also gives them a wonderful shape. Finally, USE FRESH EGGS, it makes it so much easier. With these tips you can totally bypass using vinegar and/or salt (which people can use too much of, ruining the eggs).
this was the first now cook it video that felt more like a cooking lesson, the others just felt like standard video recipes
I think a nice add on to now cook it would be some tool maintenance tips, specifically knife sharpening and such. :>
This recipe made me remember my brother seriously calling avocado "Tree Mayonnaise" for a good amount of time...
3:43 Ben is channelling the body language of Gordon Ramsay
Ben poaching eggs with vinegar is freaking me. I thought he always said a fresh egg will "find itself" without any. o.o
Cryo i learned it with vinegar aswell... it is the "professional" way i guess :)
I know, it's just that whereas James insists on poaching eggs with vinegar, Ben has always opposed that, saying a fresh egg doesn't need it.
Cryo maybe james finally convinced ben?
Maybe it's for our benefit?
Probably just a "safety" for those new to the technique (ie, what this series is about).
Better way to get all that flesh out of the avocados is to cut those halves into quarters, slide the heel of your knife under the tip of either side of the avocado's skin, and peel back!
awesome tip! i do the same with mango
This is actually the right way to peel it
Did you ask the avocado?
Thx for the tip it works really well!!
You should try it with chopped tomatoes and if you want bacon
Is there more to the Now Cook It course besides these videos?
Yes! Plenty of skills and preparation tips all on the website: www.nowcookit.com. You can also sign up & track your progress,
Don't get me wrong i love SORTEDfood. Being a chef myself it's so humbling still learning new things to better my craft as well as having my eyes opened to amazing food from around the world. However the worst part for me is, after eagerly waiting each week to see new content from the professionals, you put up content and i can already see elsewhere and have been able to access for a while now. I get it, it's probably a massive task filming and planning and everything else which comes with being an extremely active and popular channel, but saying you're releasing 5 videos a week, but in all honesty it really only feels like you're delivering 4. I hate to be pejorative because SORTEDfood is one of the top channels in my opinion. Maybe you see where i'm coming from.. Anybody?
it is hilarious how he said the avocado is delicious like it wasn't a normal Avacado
Does Ben really need to put coriander in EVERYTHING??
no that would be paprika :P
I rather he put a "shake of cayenne" in everything.
Ashlee M I see what you did there...en-joy!
If you tap the stone with your knife, you can just twist it out. That way you don't lose any avocado flesh when scooping.
weanwhile..
James is having a poached egg in wine singing I'm so fancy
Hey guys, a question about lemon/lime juice: is freshly squeezed juice really so much better than the bottled stuff ? What is the difference between the two ?
Nobody ever seems to use or recommend it although it seems to me that it is the perfect way to always have some at hand, like dry herbs. Thoughts ?
Thank you !
💕💕👌👌👌😍😍😍
Avocado on toast is sooo yummy! Just keep in mind that eating avos isn't very eco friendly, so make it a treat 💚
Do you eat meat? That’s waaay worse if so.
How do u get it into paste
Just as articles come out about horrific avocado injuries... Hmm.... 🤔
Those are about people who don't know how to open up an avocado. You can cut up your hand pretty badly
JA F Well, if it's your first time opening up an avocado, you don't intuitively do that. Case in point, first time I did it I held it with the stem up and tried to peel it like an orange. Stupid? Yes. Common? More than you think. Hotel? Trivago
JA F There'd been a case of someone stabbing through their hand whilst trying to get the stone out 😂
I am dead at your trivago moment 😂
Ben speaks through his hands
shaddup
What could you use instead of coriander?
