    Aubrey was a Speech-Language Pathologist, Donnie was graphic designer, but we both had a dream to travel the world and experience cultures. After three years of being married and dreaming about if something like this great adventure would be possible, we decided to quit the rat race and take on the world. We sold everything we had, quit our jobs, and took off! We don't know how long we will get to do this, and we do have a goal of getting jobs in the UK eventually, but we are going to live it to the fullest while we can!

      My wife and I just went YESTERDAY. We also got our tickets same day. It wasn't easy, we went to the site, clicked on get tickets and had to keep refreshing. Between our laptops and phones, we had 6 sessions open. Some of them cycled down to zero but the trick is to be in the top 200 at 9am exactly. So if it's 8:45, and you are number 25, forget it, you'll cycle down to zero. At 8:45, you probably want to be about 100th on the list. You'll end up being in the top 20 by 9am. We just figured this out, hope it helps :)

      Been there twice. The first was before tickets were sold strictly online. We had to wait in a very long line, two hours. The second time was after the ticket policy changed. We purchased out tickets two months in advance and walked in the museum at the appropriate time.

    About the tickets: if they're sold out for the period you're there, don't lose hope. Specially if it's just one ticket. Check the website every day and a ticket may be available. That happens because sometimes people give up on tickets after buying them. It happened to me. I was already in Amsterdam when a ticket became available for my last day in the city! So CHECK EVERYDAY AND DON'T LOSE HOPE!

    Nice Video! I´m German and thinking or reading about Anne Frank always make me ashamed and proud at the same time. Its just a strange feeling, and its so important that we never forget what nationalism can do to people.

    • @PassportTwo
      @PassportTwo  Před 4 lety +1

      Christiano Wildinger that’s fascinating really! I think a lot of people wonder the emotions Germans feel about their past but are afraid to ask because it is an uncomfortable subject. There is so much to be proud of but a big dark spot in German history which would seem to create a unique mix of emotions. (Not that the US also doesn’t have some dark and bleak moments in our history for us to have to think about as well)

    • @igorabasjidze1194

      Without nationalism there would be no Germany at all. Be proud that u r German because in order to be successful u need to embrace your dark side as well.

      @@kevindolce2562 this is just a cliche. If u live your live to long being ashamed it'll crash your mind and soul eventually. And how can u be "feeling proud of never let them happen again" if one can't say for sure that it'll never happen again? National Socialism didn't die on 30 April of 1945. Just take a closer look around u. As long as US troops are stationed in Europe and a specially in Germany u can reasonably have some hope that it wouldn't happen again. But how long do u think it'll take for the nazi's to gain their territory back again if by any chance Americans will decide to leave Europe? It's not a rhetorical question.

      You missed the point then. It isn't that you need tickets, it's that you need to by tickets MONTHS in advance or else you won't get it. Thus, why Aubrey was able to go in and I wasn't, we tried to by tickets too late and it was still 2-3 weeks in advance.

      dude, I respect you ok. I don't make any content, all I'm saying is that the Anne Frank house is probably the biggest tourist attraction in Amsterdam. I found this video searching for the Anne Frank house. This attraction isn't just something you see on the street and go "hey, that would be pretty fun to do!" you plan for it. people don't travel different places not knowing what they're going to do there. Thanks for the info but I was expecting something like "don't take flash photos" or "bring a pen and paper". Sorry to disturb you.
