John Kerry he spent "4 months" in Vietnam on a swift boat all of his injuries were self-inflicted he got three purple hearts a Bronze Star & a silver star.. I remember him shooting a blooper into a pile of rice on land because he panicked he heard gunfire a piece of shrapnel came back basically the size of a pin he kept rubbing it up & down when he got to Sick Bay the Doc. said why are you here I was in a firefight🤣 the Doc. threw him a Band-Aid & said here you go stop your crying..Along the River Kerry jumped off the boat chasing after the enemy I don't even believe he was VC or had a weapon on him he was severely injured as he was running John Kerry shot him in the back. This kid was like 17 years old...I believe he got a purple heart for that..When he got back to Washington all the veterans through he was going to defend us instead he made us sound like brutal animals saying that we cut off heads cut off their ears raped little girls..I can see now they made him a perfect Democrat because he was a compulsive liar & stabbed everybody in the back they said you will be perfect for the job..When Hunter Biden was working in the Ukraine ripping them people off so was John Kerry's son & Nancy Pelosi son I believe Chuck Schumer's son also.. all Traitors will go to jail in due time..🙏 including John Kerry..Give back your Metal's John you did not deserve any one of them..👉🏻🤮👈 This man was a true hero and he deserved every metal he got through heroism not being a sissy boy like John Kerry.. anytime I see anything about the Vietnam War I have to bring up his name because he truly makes me sick to my stomach..Great Video..👉🏻💪👈

I would like to correct one aspect in the last segment. Though Carlos Hathcock did train Navy SEAL snipers. CDR. Richard "Demo Dick" Marcinco was the 1st Commanding Officer and creator of SEAL TEAM 6 which was not commissioned until 1980. Well after the Vietnam war ended.
Lastly, although Special Operations has grown in leaps and bounds in both technology and tactics, politicians still haven't figured out how to win and stay out of wars. Which is why we continue to make the same mistakes over and over.
It's time to follow the Special Operations example and stop mass producing politicians.

During WW2 the Soviets Murdered between 6,000 and 9,000 Polish Officers in the forest of Katyn. That was an international War Crime then, as it is today. In the Vietnam war Americans Captured, tortured and murdered 24,000 Vietnamese Youths between 18 and 24, under operation Phoenix. That has never been described as a war crime.

Most of this video is valid, with some "typo-like" errors. The legends like Benavidez and Howard are incredible and real. But they were in unique units, like MACVSOG. MACVSOG oversaw units taken from all branches. Special Forces folks were in the Army C&C part. SEALs, Marine Force Recon, etc were in theirs. The title of this video is misleading in that it didn't get into much detail on the "normal" SF actions, but focused into unique actioins, units, and personnel.

06:41 Check out The Green Berets At War, by Shelby L. Stanton.
I want to make a videogame based on that book, because it is an inexhaustable source of missions and organisations. The Medal Of Honor section itself could be the basis for an entire videogame.
    - The close distances in firefights make Vietnam ideal
    - No one has yet done a Vietnam game with proper jungle, undergrowth, etc.
    - The missions in The Green Berets At War write themselves
    - The organisations like Mike Force, Strike Force, Hunter Killer Teams, the various operational zones, etc.
    - The limited technology means you have to use your own senses and experience. No drones or satellites.
    - Instruction instead of testing.
If anyone knows a way to the finances to make that happen, drop me a reply.
20:21 "SEAL Team 6, the elite military unit responsible for assassinating Osama bin Laden, had previously been advised and trained by Vietnam Veteran Carlos Hathcock."
I didn't know that. He had a book out and there was a movie made inspired by him with Tom Berenger called Sniper.

All the 1st North Vietnamese leaders were once Americans allies during WWII against the Japanese army. US President Franklin D. Roosevelt sent a small group of US special military personnel to Vietnam after 1 year after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. These US military personnels train the 1st Vietminh soldiers how to use assault rifle and booby trap. The Vietminh save several US pilots, who plane was shot down by the Japanese army. US President Franklin D. Roosevelt recognize Vietnam Independence from France but never to live to see it. But his Vice President Truman took a different approach by supporting the French to recolonize Vietnam after rejecting Ho Chi Minh letter of support for Vietnam Independence from France. This cause Ho Chi Minh seeking support from communist Russia and China. In 1950, US Democrats President Truman sent the 1st US MAAG personnel to Vietnam to assist the French Army in Vietnam. This is how America 1st got involve in Vietnam. On May 7, 1954, when France lost thier rule over Vietnam after losing a major battle at battle of Dien Bien Phu to the North Vietnam. America military never left from Vietnam because US Democrat President Truman, JF Kennedy, and LB Johnson made sure that United States should dictate into Vietnam afair. In 1963 US Democrats President JF Kennedy and LB Johnson stage a military coup assination on South Vietnam President, Ngo Dinh Diem on Nov. 2, 1963. This gives United States the power over the country of Vietnam and the Vietnamese peoples. And US Democrats President, JF Kennedy and LB Johnson appointed their puppet ex-Vietminh soldiers, Nguyen Van Thieu, as President of South Vietnam. The South Vietnamese President, who later cost 500,000 South Vietnamese killed or capture by the North Vietnamese army and their allies Pathet Loas and Khmer Rouge of Cambodia when he sent them to Laos and Kampuchia. And who told him to do so. United States. On Nov. 22, 1963, JF Kennedy was killed in Dallas, TX. US Vice President LB Johnson, was appointed as President of United States. The following year Aug. 8, 1964, US Democrats President, LB Johnson announce US military action to Vietnam to Americans peoples over the Gulf of Tonkins, which involve a US Destroyer was patroling past the 17th parallel DMZ line near Honoi the capital of North Vietnam. But according to US Nuclear weapon offier, John White on the US Destroyer Maddox. That their were No attack. But still US Democrats President LB Johnson push for US military action to Vietnam which lead to the Vietnam War. Only 500,000 US ground troops was sent. Out of all the US ground troops who was draft and sent to fight in Vietnam. 40% were Blacks males, along with non-college white male, high school drop out, war protester males, and convict. America didn't sent their best but their worse from 1965-1969 when Nixon became US President. Nixon order all US ground force out of Vietnam to began pull out. US Republicans President Nixon order a non-stop flight of B52 bomber to bomb Hanoi and Haiphong. Nixon promise the South Vietnamese the continuing of US military aids to Vietnam to defend themselve from the North Vietnam aggression. That United States would replace any US military weapons that was lost to the South Vietnam. The South Vietnamese army did retake back many lost territories in the South from Communist North. On August 8, 1974, President Nixon announce his resignation as President of United States over the Watergate Scandal. On Nov. 5, 1974, the Democrats won a landslide in congress. Both the US Senate and the House of Representative. The following year in 1975, the Democrats control congress cuts all US military aids to South Vietnam and on April 30, 1975, the Fall of Saigon to Communist North Vietnam and thus began the flow of Vietnamese refugees. During the entire Vietnam War, America brought pain, death, and destruction to the Vietnamese peoples of Vietnam. And today, several South Vietnamese young generation is still suffer from the affect of United States biological chemicals, Agent Orange which the US military spray all over rivers and forests of South Vietnam. And American still today still talk about how heroic they did during the Vietnam War.

Not in a million years were they ever going to let Bobby Kennedy become president. They killed him. How long do you think the powers that be were going to put up with ML King? They killed him too. Once the decision is made its just a simple phone call. Trump told the American public that he would release the remaining papers on the Kennedy murder. I promise you they sat him down on day 1 and told him that if he opens his mouth about it he would be killed. Meeting over. The papers were never released. He did what he was told. JFK was a very young President, who was intimidated by the military leadership. No one man can be blamed for Vietnam. It was very complex, and I doubt if anyone commenting here has all of the facts. Both Kennedy and Johnson had great dreams for the country, including civil rights reform. Johnson went on to follow thru with the great civil rights legislation that JFK began. Johnson hated that war. He referred to it as that "bitch" of a war, because it completely overshadowed his Great Society dream. I used to be critical of them, until I came to see that they didn't do anything anyone else under similar circumstances would've done. And we can never know those circumstances as intimately as it takes to make a truly informed judgement about them. Besides, who are any of us to judge? Who among us can honestly say we haven't made errors we wish we had a second shot at? I've got at least a few hundred myself.

This is a great video, but the writers need to use past tense throughout the video. The poor grammar makes it hard to listen to.

Isnt it hilarious that the enemy does not know that they have just knocked out your entire arms supply, your ammo, 90% of your actual fighting force and STILL doesn't assault your position bc they JUST DONT TRUST US 😅😅..they could have taken over our entire unit if they knew what the 1 mortor and sporadic small arms and machine gun fire did. Oh well next time i guess😅

sadly a lot of mistakes in this video. Roy's action where actually way more bad ass than reported here. Also, SOG is studies and observations group, NOT studies and operations group.
