    Watched this video trying to figure out why my vacuum has little to no suction. I removed the Jandy valve and found no cloggs. I tried fitting my house through the line with no luck. I finally decided to reassemble everything and switch my valve between my skimmer and vacuum over and over with success. Large piece of tan bark from the near by garden must have been blown into the pool by the recent wind and somehow sucked up through the vacuum. Lots of debris was stuck with the tan bark. I cleaned the basket from my pump and all back to normal. Hope this helps someone

      Typically when you hear that type of high pitched hum (whine) it may be that the bearings are going bad. It just may be coincidental that it happened after backwashing your filter.

    Any tips on weaker suction on the vacuum due to the line gets a bit longer at the far end of a 22k gallon pool? Also, If I turn up suction, the vacuum has the tendency to suck in air on the surface as it climbs to the top of the wall and above water.

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před rokem

      It could be a couple things, first check your pump impeller to make sure there’s not debris clogging yet. It’s inside the pump behind the pump basket make sure when you check it there is no chance that your pump can turn on because that could incur your fingers. It’s also possible that you may have some vacuum hoses that have cracks in them and need to be replaced. You also said that when you increase the suction vacuum comes completely out of the pool. I would suggest not increasing it quite as much just do it a tick at a time on the suction adjustment valve at the suction side of your pool equipment until the vacuum moves better around the pool but also doesn’t climb completely up the walls of the pool

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před rokem

      Suction issues can be caused by a few things. First make sure your filter media is clean. That can affect flow. Next make sure your pump basket is empty (yes I've had clients after a huge storm call me with suction problems and it's that. Lastly make sure your impeller is clear - that can affect suction as well. Watch this video: czcams.com/video/sHfHfgpEeto/video.html

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před rokem +2

      This particular pool is equipped with therapy jets that blow out on a step in the deeper end of the pool. There’s a separate booster pump that propels the water through and that pipe that you’re looking at that looks like it’s capped is to create the air bubbles, it creates a suction, and then the air bubbles Flow through that water going through the therapy jets, which creates more vibration

      I’m assuming P3900 is a Polaris and that’s a return side pool sweep. Unfortunately I don’t have much experience with those. When I vacuum my pool, all the debris goes to the spa! It recently started happening so I’m not sure what is causing it.

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před měsícem

      Seems like you have your returns set for the spa so set your returns back for the pool. And also if you have any dirt or debris coming back through the returns when you vacuum your pool, whether it’s the spa or the pool returns typically that means your filter, Media is saturated or too dirty and can’t hold anymore dirt. I’m going to guess that you have a sand filter so I suggest you backwash the filter filter backwash and recharge it if it’s a cartridge filter clean the cartridges and inspect them because it’s possible if it’s a cartridge filter, you might have a torn cartridge, which is whydirt. Is getting through.

    I'm a new pool cleaner in Austin. I've had an issue I could really use some help with. We're in the middle of leaf drop. Which is no problem, I've got a power vac. My issue, I've got pools with tons of dirt and leaves. I vacuum the leaves and displace the dirt. I can't line vac the dirt because it won't pick up the leaves. Are there bags that will pick up both the leaves and dirt at the same time. I use a Power Vac, but the bags are Hammer Head. I can't get anyone at Power Vac to call me back. I've been trying to design my own but haven't been successful. Any ideas would really be appreciated. I just want to leave my clients with a beautiful looking pool.

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před rokem

      That’s a tricky situation, I have not heard of bags that the dirt can’t get through. I have seen people who create there their own self contained portable filter/vacuum system or they take a smaller single cartridge filter attached to a cart with a plug-in pump motor that also has a leaf catcher basket on it and they vacuum the pool. That way the leaves get caught in the leaf catcher basket and the filter filters out the dirt.

      @Pool School Thank you so much for replying. I've called Hammer Head and Power Vac countless times, looking for solutions. Haven't heard back from either. So , I really appreciate it.
      I have a separate leaf catcher that I hook up while doing a line vac for dirt, but even those will only pick up the smaller leaves. Tonight, I'm going to try stitching in a filter from a window air conditioner unit into my power vac leaf bag. My problem is dirt displacement. I have 7 to 8 pools a day. It's not possible to vac and line vac in the same visit. I go back the next week and I'm looking at the same issue. Every time I put my vacuum in the pool, I see the dirt being pulled up and pushed back into the water. It's become so frustrating. Maybe one of my experiments will work, and I can patent the bag. No more line vac hose hassle

    How do we install two pumps for pool

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před 7 měsíci

      Unfortunately, that’s a pretty involved question to answer in the comment section. It depends on what you want the pumps to accomplish. I’ve never heard of two pumps on the same line but if you have separate suction lines and return lines to different parts of your pool or for different functions of your pool you could use multiple pumps. That’s about the best I can do with the little information I have about what you’re wanting to use them for.

    What if that does not work you don't get suction for the pool vacuum

    • @PoolSchooler
      @PoolSchooler  Před 3 měsíci

      There could be a few reasons you still don't get suction. The first two have to do with the pump. You could have a full pump basket and/or a clogged pump impeller. This video will show you what I mean: czcams.com/video/sHfHfgpEeto/video.htmlsi=8_nmvHVTRpBHTOtu
      Another reason could be your filter needs to be cleaned or backwashed.
      Lastly, closed return valves could affect suction and could be dangerous if the pressure builds up.
      Check these things and see if any of them help. ALSO make sure it's lack of suction and there's not something stuck in the vac or vac line that's causing the vac to not work.
      My guess is that it's a clogged pump impeller.
