Lyrics:
I don't know where I'm going
But I sure know where I've been
Hanging on the promises
In songs of yesterday
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
Here I go again
Here I go again
Though I keep searching for an answer
I never seem to find what I'm looking for
Oh, Lord, I pray
You give me strength to carry on
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
But I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
Just another heart in need of rescue
Waiting on love's sweet charity
And I am gonna hold on
For the rest of my days
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
But here I go again
Here I go again
Here I go again
Here I go
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
And I've made up my mind
I ain't wasting no more time
Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone
'Cause I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams
Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known
Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone

There are certain 80's songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
I'd be honored if some fans of classic 80s rock anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor and IS THIS LOVE by Whitesnake in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Stay safe and keep on rocking in the '020s.

I just turned 60. I love this song too
21 years old and man... I wish I was alive in the 80s... or at least the 80s culture returned, best time in American culture.
you have no idea...
I was born in the late 70s, so I was a kid in the 80s. Everything about the 80s is a childhood thing to me. When the internet first came out, and I could revisit those 80s childhood memories, it was really neat.
But on one 80s video, I saw someone saying how fun it was to have been an adult in the 80s, and I bet it was! I would have been such a fun time to be an adult, or even a teenager. I turned 13 in 1990, so my teens were spent in the 90s, which, honestly, wasn't an espeically interesting time to be a teenager....it was all Nirvana, and grunge music.
It was GREAT! I appreciate you, appreciating the 80s. It was a great time. Keep listening to the great music!❤
Great years they were. But so were the early 90’s
The best times!!!

a TRIBUTE to the goddess of the '80s. Tawny Kitaen. She was my age and I loved watching her in this video, the hair and how she just looked overall and trying to imagine her life. Infectious smile and just a gorgeous human being. The big hair of the '80, such innocent times, and how most of got perm after perm trying to create the big hair look. Condolences to her family. May she rest in peace. Amen.
I got the spiral perm because I wanted my hair to look like hers. She really epitomized 80's beauty.
@@lisamattingly453 Yes, the spiral was awesome. Lisa I could not get it to take on my hair. I have super long straight thick hair and for whatever reason did not matter which salon I went to they would charge me almost 3 or 4 times the price and advise me that it may not take and better to have the other type of perm. I started doing it myself at home, trying to get her spiral and I ended up frying my hair and had to back off. She was just natural beauty, long legs, trendy and she had a kind smile. She made her beauty look so effortlessly and just a beautiful goddess. Too bad we both could not have been her friends and maybe we could have helped guide her along.
@@AzitaForever i had the opposite problem. My hair is naturally curly and was to my waist. It held the perm so long I ended up cutting some of the length to get rid of it after so long. 🙃
@@lisamattingly453 Wow! weren't you lucky. I was so envious of my high school friends like you who had that gorgeous curly hair. I wanted your hair so badly, you have no idea. Mine would fade out within 2 hours it would be laying flat straight frizzy in my face and the other 2 friends' hair was just like yours, still curly and even fuller.

I grew up in the 80s and - outside of Coverdale's amazing voice and the model's sexiness - I didn't think this was iconic in the least. Well put I couldn't have said it better
Well said
And have you thought of where you will go when you die? There is only Heaven or Hell, and we all live again on the other side the second we die here. I chose God by praying, "God, Jesus, Please come into my heart and my life. And please forgive me from my sins because I am a sinner and I have sinned. I am sorry. I do believe that Jesus came to earth and died on a cross for the forgiveness of my sins and he arose from the dead and is alive today. Thank you for hearing my prayer." AND IF YOU REALLY MEAN THIS PRAYER, you will go to Heaven to live with God when you die.
I prayed this in 2015 when I thought I was dying and miracle changes happened to me, and my life has been a million times better ever since. I know that when I die here, I will go to live with God in Heaven where it will be more wonderful than any of us can imagine now.

There, with Tawny being married to lead singer, David Coverdale at the time, she met Tawny and the rest of the band members of Whitesnake. Mom has told me that Tawny was not only beautiful physically, but she was an absolute sweetheart. She will be missed. R.I.P. Tawny Kitaen. My family loves you, we will always miss you, and I hope you are in a better place, a better time. 🕊️😢🕯️🌹
Thank u for sharing this
@@davidBarrel my pleasure. 😊👍
@@audreymattson5127 if you have any more stories like this... you are welcome ;) Did you choose to follow a musical path too?
@@davidBarrel I am only 16 years old, almost 17 but yes, I do want to be a musician when I'm older. Music has only been in my blood, and it's a big part of who I am since my mom has basically grew up in the music industry. She has met and talked with a lot of famous rock stars and blues stars, and had a band when she was in high school - played bass. Music seems to be the thing that I go to, in both the good and the bad. I really do believe that music is a language of its own, and like Don Henley once stated, it's the tribal drum that everyone seems to follow, and that is a blessing in and of itself. So yes, I have a lot of stories to share about my mom (hopefully I have as many as her someday) and it's an amazing thing.
@@audreymattson5127 yeaaah!! I'm glad to hear that, music is something that grows in you, it get's better with time and if you develop yourself as a musician you won't feel lonely ever, is the best company the best way to share yourself with another person also. Keep on, you are at the perfect age to put brain and effort in this. . Good luck Audrey ;) -Myself right now 3am figuring out how to play the intro of this song on guitar ;) cheers from Montevideo.
Each and every day, more of my childhood slips away. RIP TAWNY

@@cacb24 ha I’m the young one at 73 but I’m definitely with y’all on this song…love it
@@Soggywafflecakes If you were born in the 80's then you wouldn't have really gotten to experience it. Just being honest. You would have spent at least half the 80's at five years old or less. Now, if you were born in an earlier decade you'd have so many memories of so much more of that decade. I was born 1972, and so in 1987 I was 15 years old and doing all the fashion things people were doing at the time. I also remember my little sister wearing "jellies". And I remember the cars like Trans Am and Buik :)
Yeesss!
This entire album was made in heaven. I love 70s and 80s rock

Nostalgia road is the only road I've ever known. And the 80's is it. David Coverdale definitely caught the vibe, and thank god he did it. Now we can come back and listen for all eternity.✊🏻

“Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake was the #1 song on the Billboard charts today in 1987.
I was in the Navy getting over a divorce (married before i joined, trying to provide a living wage for my wife and kid). Yeah this meant a lot to me.

Fascinating to look back on this. My father used to play this in the car as a pump up on the way to my youth hockey games. I always thought this song was 70’s era, just now realizing after seeing the video title it was only 6 years before I was born. Cool realization 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
