- In 2016 the Queen Mary 2 ship of the distinguished Cunard Line cruise company's fleet underwent a 25-day refit in Hamburg.
Crowds lined the harbourside of the Elbe to watch the ocean liner docking at Blohm+Voss.
During her stay in Hamburg not only did she receive renewed propellers and paintwork, but also added indoor space on the top deck, as well as an extensive internal refurbishment. #QM2Remastered - Krátké a kreslené filmy

Yes she us a "Grand Lady of the North Atlantic." The biggest Ocean Liner in the world that can handle the tough North Atlantic" (She's no cruise ship) She is one of the last Ocean Liners & the worlds largest.
She’s the only one in service Queen Mary and queen Elizabeth 2 are hotels and United states Is rotting away in Philadelphia
shes the last Ocean liner to serve for the public, as an Ocean liner, most Ocean liners that had existed for well over 50 years are now serving as cruise ships
Such a Grand Lady! We sailed on her in October, 2004. This was a very special cruise as my husband emigrated to Canada on the original QM in 1951, as a very wee boy.

I still love this ship, very happy times spent on her, I think maybe cabins need updating again, she is special. I loved going across to New York and Asia on her

The queen Mary in Long Beach is too unstable to be put into a dry dock as of right now.
Nearest drydock to accommodate Queen Mary is in San Diego... engineers have said she wouldn't survive the tow
THE QUEEN MARY IS NOT A CRUISE SHIP, IT IS AN OCEAN LINER
Nautical Study: The QM2 may be technically a "OCEAN LINER" but she still looks more like a cruise ship. High Decks, no rudder, no traditional propellers system. I HATE THAT!!!!! She does NOT have the graceful looks of a traditional trans-atlantic ocean liner.

@@herondelatorre4023 she is an ocean liner. Her bow isn’t that a cruise ship. She’s designed to take much more stress than cruise ships.

@@herondelatorre4023 unfortunately, the demands of her guests are what have dictated her design, just as the requirements of passengers decided how the ocean liners of old were built. She is still a grand ship and the closest a person can get to experiencing the great transatlantic crossings over the ocean

Yes she’s now on Brest,France at Damen shipyard.

@@emilholmsten8600 No, she is just in dry dock because she has been sitting anchored off of Torbay. So she is getting new paints and other stuff
Now back at Southampton after drydocking at Brest.
She will return to operations in November now.

It was yes, the vid is from her 2016 dry docking.
She's alongside at Southampton now having returned from the Brest 21 dry docking.

I hope that they update the heating, air conditioning and air filtration systems to keep the air clean and Covad free as it circulates in the cabins and main rooms.
They say , naively that it is a Liner ! Its not . I wouldnt go on the thing again if it were in the river estuary . A force 4 in Biscay sent the ship into a virtual somersault Captain s warning of rolling and pitching badly scarred half to death most unlike QE2 when in same area in a force 8 , I had to go to the side of the ship to see if it was till moving , as it was so steady. If I could wave a magic wand, Dubaii would re introduce QE2 to seagoing service tomorrow. and this maritime abortion could be packed off to Alang

What ever happened to the beautiful lines of the Ocean liners of yesteryear? Taken away and made into a ship that resembles a floating ant farm....Shame on them!
Unfortunately, it’s the passenger demands which have shaped the design of passenger vessels since the days of the classic ocean liner, and this is how those demands have been met, while still preserving the ocean liner design
in order for a true oceanliner to be profitable in a modern market, they must have modern amenities found on most passenger vessels (cruise ships) such as balconies, etc to be profitable.
Anyone who thinks a liner should look like ones of old has their heads in the clouds. It is for the sole reason of profitability and competition in a modern market, that makes it necessary for Oceanliners in today’s world to have balconies
Yes I know progress has produced a more efficient ship for the cruise line to operate rather than the ship the passengers loved in QE2 and this monster ticks most of the boxes ... but not for me . I had a dreadful time on the thing . I am a boat builder and honestly was staggered when I looked at the poor quality of the welding around the Constanzi stern that must have been carried out by a monkey. The illfitting fake stern end to try and make it look like QE2 was about 12 inches on the skew . In every other respect I was disappointed when compared to QE2 , accomodation, food , internal arrangements and dont even ask about the foul Kings court cafe . surly staff , and absolutely abysmil sea keeping qualities that couldnt keep up with QE2 even if that ship just went on impulse engines only . qm2 is more than half way through its life and good riddance when its gone to Alang
