    are beautiful. I am SO glad to find out to put food grade resin on the cups as the other videos I found suggest spray or Mod Podge which are not food safe. Thank you.

      Thank you!! I’m so glad this helped! Yes I realized the hard way that food grade resin is key if I am making a cup I will drink out of! Happy crafting!

      Resin is NOT food safe.

      Renee, I wouldn’t go as far as ingesting resin, but if you are making cups, trays, or coasters (anything food or beverages may come close to contact with), it is best to use an FDA compliant resin.

    Is this microwave and dishwasher safe with the resin? I'm totally fascinated with this project, thank you!

      Thank you for watching!!!
      I would shy away from microwaving anything with resin or even mod podge. I hope this helps!

    That’s gorgeous!
    How much do you sell that size mug for?

      Thank you!! I currently do not sell mugs. It would depend on how much you want to profit and the quality of your materials used.

      Hello! Thank you for reaching out! I am using alcohol ink. My favorite brands of alcohol ink are Tim Holtz and Jacquard Piñata! I hope you have fun with alcohol inks!

    AWESOME! I have a bunch of cups that I'd like to makeover? Do you recommend sanding them first, or just spray paint them?

      Hello! Thank you so much for watching!
      I always sand my stainless steel tumblers before spray painting because it holds the paint better with a rough surface, but I have never tried spray painting a glass or ceramic mug. This sounds like a great project! I might be a little hesitant to sand glass or ceramic with fear of the cup chipping. You can always spray paint the cup and add an FDA compliant resin or a sturdy sealer over and that should preserve the paint pretty well 😊 I hope this helps!

    Help ! Did you put only one layers of resin ? Is it sufficient ?

    • @craftbuggy5307
      @craftbuggy5307  Před rokem

      Hey! It depends on how smoothly my resin goes on. I try to keep it to one layer but sometimes I need two layers. I hope this helps!

    I just watch your video on using alcohol ink to paint a coffee mug. What resin do you use that is foodsafe? Great video!

      @craftbuggy5307  Před 2 lety +1

      When I coat anything in epoxy, I only hand wash. There is a dishwasher safe mod podge that I hear is amazing, but I have never tried it. I hope this helps!!
