- Jayakumar SS is one of the dedicated wildlife conservationists who work to solve the human-snake conflict in their communities while risking their own lives to protect some of India’s most dangerous snake species. This video shows a rescue of a big King cobra from a car. Jayakumar needed to take the snake out of the vehicle and guide it into the snake bag. King cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the longest venomous snake in the world, it can grow up to 5.5 meters! King cobras with length of 4 meters are often seen around Agumbe in Western Ghats of India. Venom of King cobra can kill an adult elephant with a single bite (it has huge venom yield).

"it's nothing it's just a snake" 😂😂😂😂
Yeah I know! I mean even in Australia people are mesmerized by the catch & release snakes.
Imagine if all the professional snake catchers Al over the world joined up to fight the poaching & illegal selling of these gorgeous animals!
Exactly! A snake is a peaceful animal which will not hurt you if you don't hurt it :)
This are the people they we need. Respect and thanks for the rescue!!!🐍
Thanks for watching! We agree!
Beautiful snake and amazing rescue and very nice filming. Being an indian i am glad the you guys filmed one of our majestic snake!😊😊
Our pleasure! This King cobra was amazing! We really enjoyed our time in India!
Awesome!!! Much respect to the rescuer he did an incredible good job.
We agree! Here is an interview with him: m.czcams.com/video/FgpkgiVQneA/video.html
@@LivingZoology Thank you for the link
Instead of snake catchers, they should be called snake savers. Beautiful work. Thanks for this beautiful video.
Yes, that would be a nicer name! But snake catcher is also not meant in a negative way. Thank you for watching!
@@LivingZoology I didn't mean to say that 'snake catcher' is an inappropriate term. But yes, people should realise the good work that they do.
@@robinsir We agree!
That is such a stunningly beautiful animal. Snakes are dangerous, and should be respected for that, but also should be respected for being a beautiful creature. So cool
We agree, this was especially beautiful snake! Even though it is potentially dangerous, it did not want to bite anyone.
Truly this is a snake deserving of its name; it has real majesty and eminence.
We absolutely agree, amazing snakes!
I know it’s like so cute how it has it head up when it comes out of the bag. I watch many Aussie catch & release snakes & don’t think any slide out with their head up high like that! They are sooo fascinating!!!
lo
truely a king n always a king in all respect ,all efforts must be made to protect them
Can't thank everyone enough that deals with venomous snakes. Sending many prayers 💙 🙏
Thank you very much for watching!

Yeah, in this full video the big boy became unhappy a couple of times while being removed from the car.
But still all he wanted is run away, not attack. He’s not aggressive at all.
I’ve seen king cobras in person in Thailand. I love them, they’re so beautiful. They just need to be treated with respect, that’s all. They don’t want to harm people.
King cobras are incredibly calm! It is always amazing to observe them 🙂

That was great, as expected
Thank you very much!
I appreciate that these guys go and rescue snakes but they need to take some lessons from Ajay Giri from ARRS. He is the absolute master when it comes to rescuing king cobras.
Thanks for watching! Kumar rescued snakes in Agumbe long before Ajay and they worked in the same team! Here is a video with Ajay: m.czcams.com/video/5NjKcg8kMxI/video.html
Wow, awesome!!!
Thank you!
Wow. Seen a RBB in a kids toy basket, RBB stuck in outdoor furniture, but never seen a large animal stuck UNDER Car! I mean they probably do in Australia but how?? Like WHY?? A car is hot & could kill the snake??
We were surprised to see such a huge snake in a car! Here is the full video! czcams.com/video/Wy7fn-wo2aU/video.html
Excellent job getting him from under the vehicle. I think I bit all my fingernails off watching that.
Thank you for watching! Great that you managed to watch the video until the end! :)
Thank u very much,
You are most welcome!
Who ever would have thought a smart phone would assist snake wrangling. 😊
Thank you for watching!
The correct way to release em ( with compassion) into their natural habitat as close as possible to where it was found
Yes, it is always the best to release snakes as close as possible from the place where they have been rescued.
Great video... Can someone tell me more about not moving technique? I've never seen anything like this before. Does it work with every true Naja that it will ignore you when you are not moving?
Thank you! King cobras are very sensitive to any movement, that's why it is better if nobody moves. The snake can get scared by a fast movement and move unpredictably. True cobras, mambas and many diurnal elapids react to movement around a lot and it is better to do move slowly.
Massive, beautiful creature!
We think so too!
Very nice video 👍...
Thank you! Cheers!
Omg the snake whisper amazing
Yes, very skillful! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful snake
It is, thank you for watching!

King cobra is found in southern part of India
King cobras live in Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats and also in forests near border with Nepal for example.

That guy has big big bells. Wow that snake was insanely huge. I would be screaming like a little girl.
Yes, this was a big King cobra!
ಕನ್ನಡ ಸೂಪರ್ 🤩👍

I love Kings....
They are awesome, we love them too!
"Stay don`t move" -I would run away at this point.
We just moved a bit and it was enough! :)
Even a snake picture scares me.. 😨
So great that you managed to watch this video! :)
2:09 don't scream it's just a snake?? 🤯🤯 boy! I would be on the opposite side of the garage to avoid screaming 🤣🤣
Haha, our friend tried to make the owners of the house more calm :D
Where is it
In India, Karnataka.
Arghh , I am at work when you stream 😩
You can come to watch the video later! :)
@@LivingZoology I caught up with you 🙃
And now I wonder .... how did the owner find out that he had a king in his car??
Not important, perhaps, but I try to put myself in that situation and I am not sure my heart would stay intact if I met a king (no, any snake) getting in my car 😵💫
@@abocas We don't know that actually. We just received a call that there is a snake in the car. The King was probably hunting and decided that it will be comfortable to hide in the car :D Nobody saw the snake going in. Luckily they managed to see it before they started to drive the car.
Wow
Thanks for watching!
How did it go inside?
That is a good question 😀 For some reason this huge snake thought that the car is a good hiding spot…
Seems ,this King cobra is the native of karnataka, instead of releasing again in the forest, why not give it to the snake museum 😉
The snake belongs to the forest where it lives 🙂
What color is it? Reminds me of “the dress”, sometimes it looked blue, others it looked golden.
Thanks for watching! Not sure about the color 😀
2:08 ohh really 😢😢
Thanks for watching!
just WOW 😨 is a massive snake and they handled everything so smoothly.
You can scratch from your list: play chicken with a King Cobra 😂
Yes, this snake was really WOW! Amazing and huge!
Gentleman wrangling it must have excuse the expression 'balls of steel!' That beastie was soo big and fast!. Nuff said.
Thanks for watching! Yes, it was a big cobra 🙂
👍
Thank you!
wow
Thanks!
asian king cobra...🥰🇧🇩
Yes, from India :)
crazy
It is, right?
would this be an indonesian king cobra? It looks to me to be too dark to be a malaysian king.
...though I don't know much about king cobras (I need to learn more!)
This happened in Western Ghats in India :)
Wow! Kings are very intelligent snakes. I'm always impressed by their size, intelligence and their growls. Always listen to the locals. The camera guy wouldn't be quick enough to move away from the King; it's strike range at that size is incredible.
BTW. Is this the same man who welcomed Chandler from Florida into his home?
Thanks for watching! We love to work with Kings, they are very intelligent and peaceful. No, we try to avoid working with locals who deliberately invite people to India to make stunts with snakes.
Why it is necessary to leave in nearest area from the captured location? There are chances that it may come again.
Snakes should not be released too far away from the place where they were caught. Ideal is the tradeoff between releasing too close to people and too far from the home range. There are studies showing that releasing snakes too far often leads to their death as they don’t know where to find food, water or shelter.
@@LivingZoology Thank You for Clarification.
Don't move! Don't know about that one🏃
Thanks for watching! 🙂🙏
My respects 😮. I don’t want your job. 😱😱😱
It is not a job for everyone!
Agumbe shivamoga sagara
Thanks for watching!
Where is this exactly?
Got it: it's Karnataka
Yes, it is in Karnataka!
I cam here from a short. Thank you for Link
"Don't Move around,......Its, nothing just a snake. Dude like wtf"
You snake people are funny, The Snake handlers of Bulawayo said the same thing and I looked at them like with Bombastic side eyes,
Thanks for watching! 🙂
Ofcourse, you have rescued the dangerous reptile at one place and released it in another place. What about the fate of the poor village people who have to roam in the forest for their livelihood.I think If those poor people die you are happy. Instead, you can hand over them to the snake Park . That would be a good suggestion. Think over.
Snakes have their role in nature and should be protected.
It looked scared
The snake was of course a bit scared, but nicely released back into the forest.
Don't move lol
Don't move!!! King cobras react to movement a lot, that's why. But when it was about to slither onto our legs, we had to move :D
In india place
Thank you for watching!
I will become a member of the cop em up club
Did snakes do something bad to you?
@@LivingZoology snakes have done many things through out the world, they are lethal to humans. God says we have domain over animals. We can not exsist with masdove king cobras in our homes. Our dogs cats and chickens are at stake when these killing machines are aroind. I love my dogs way more than any snake that is tempermental and lethsl to even the biggest. Snakes kill millions all over planet earth. Did they do something to me? Yes they have killed through out the world, so yes i could be next
Nope, modern man can do a much better job of culling than a grizzly bear
Does this have anything to do with this video?
@@LivingZoology why do we need animals that can kill people, there are wonderful snakes that aren’t poisonous and still eat rodents and other animals so why do we need them? We don’t, innocent people are killed by poisonous snakes and other such animals every day
@@mariarogers3104 Every animal has its role in the ecosystem, you cannot say that some organisms are useless. For example, King cobras hunt other snakes. They keep populations of rat snakes, Spectacled cobras or Russell's vipers in control.
@@LivingZoology okay send about 1,000 Texas indigo snakes to East Texas because our stupid Texas parks and wildlife released 4,000 Timberbacks not one half mile from my place
@@mariarogers3104 You can co-exist with all kind of snakes, it is worth a try. A bit of education, takes some time though.
As for those mentioned indigo snakes, they are in big decline due to human interference. Although they are sort of harmless, that won't save many of them. It is not for us, at least it should not be, to select and favour nice ones while persecuting and killing bad (or dangerous) species.
