- This really was a minimalist packing challenge for me … In this video, I will take you on a journey as I pack for not just 12 days of travel, but also a wedding! And the best part? I'm doing it all with just a carry-on. That's right, no checked bags for me as I travel from Europe to the USA. As a wedding guest, I have to bring everything I need for the trip, the wedding, and everything in between in my trusty 30 liter carry-on bag and one personal item. But don't worry, I've got some travel bag organization ideas and minimalist packing tips up my sleeve. So join me as I show you what I packed in my Peak Design compression packing cubes, my travel toiletry bag, and what I bring in my personal item bag.

Great video! The other word for your Strumpfhose would be “tights” in the UK, and in the US I think they’re also called “pantyhose”
Instead of the caribener on the zipper, I use an old diaper pin. It has a metal cap that has to be slid up before the pun opens. It never gets accidentally opened, and most people have no idea how to open it LOL.

Stockings have two separate legs but if it is all in one piece it's tights in the UK or in the US, pantyhose.

I love to see your minimalist packing style. Safe travels and I hope you enjoyed the wedding. You'll have to tell us what you thought of a US wedding. How different was it from the weddings in Austria?
I had a great time in the US, thank you. Well, I think weddings are completely different than in Austria. Here, they usually start at 1 pm with the ceremony, and then everyone goes to get some drinks and later there‘s dinner and at some point they cut the cake and a midnight meal and then the party goes on until the next morning. In the US, it seems much more scheduled, and it started at 5 pm and was over at 11 pm, with wedding planners with their clipboards making sure everything happens in time and everyone is out of the location at 11 pm (which is a good time for me to go home anyways… 😂). I really enjoyed it, but Austrian weddings are less structured and progress more „naturally“ and are more relaxed I guess… 😅
😂Stockings, yes! And I think I have a pair...still in the package! Not great for farms 😂The dress is ideal! Pretty and non-wrinkly, and I hope you have or had a lovely trip!
I took them off during the wedding and now they are back in the package waiting for the next time I need them … in 10 years or so… 😂

Another great packing video! You might like the Phillips One Rechargeable travel toothbrush. Its way lighter than the Sonicare! Travel friendly, I purchased 4 for our family's carryon-only Europe trip this summer. Highly recommend!
Thanks for the tip! I have been eyeing the Philips one toothbrushes, but I heard that they are not as strong as the Sonicare, so I did not end up buying one yet… Do you have a normal Sonicare? How different is it for you?
@@MaggiFuchs Yes I have a normal Sonicare. The One is a bit more gentle, but it worked well (and didn't need a charge) for nearly a month-long trip.
Also, the charger for the One is a USB-A cord that plugs into a normal USB-A charging block (I use the Apple one).
Packing for a 12-day trip and a wedding with just a carry-on can definitely be a challenge, but I enjoyed watching your tips and organization ideas. We hope you had a wonderful trip and congratulations on successfully packing everything you need. Safe travels!
Great video, did you take your husband with you? You might look at getting a SURI sonic toothbrush, lightweight, only needs charging every 40 days and the heads are environmentally friendly too. I have one and love it but you may only in the UK!

Quick question about the toothbrush, there are many different models. Which one do you recommend?
I have a Philips Sonicare, but its an old version. But it still works great for me, so I see no need to buy a new one. But now Philips Sonicare has an expensive version with a travel case that can charge with USB and also a cheaper one where the stand can charge with USB, so if I would have to buy a new one atm, I guess I would go for one of those two. There is also the Philips one now, but I haven’t tested it yet because I heard it’s much weaker.

So far we’re happy as you can monitor the brushing quality with an app though it doesn’t have a usb charger but it comes with a plastic case for travelling.

I went to Kansas City. I was an AuPair there 20 years ago, and now my host-son got married. 😊 Never felt so old in my life… 😂 But it was great to see everyone again and spend a few days with all the lovely people I met during my time there. It has been a few years since I saw most of them. :)
