T-Pott spends a lot of time discussing base cards with PSA 10 grades. I get it. It's for liquidity purposes and avoiding small sample error. But what about overall population?

T-Pott was dubious of Pacheco's robust market. Pacheco was the 251st pick in his draft. Just 11 picks before Purdy. As a result, he didn't make several checklists, even as a base card. He also has no autographed product, which further suppresses the potential population. Want a super nice Pacheco card? One is going to have to settle for a SSP with no auto. Or perhaps even a Prizm silver holo with a PSA 10 rating.
Even at the current pricing, Pacheco has a superior upside argument to Kardarius Toney. Chiefs offense is going score. It's an irresistible force of nature. Just a matter of who benefits. WR1 (Toney) and RB1 (Pacheco) should eat. Toney has a lot of rookie product. Pacheco doesn't. Pacheco also has an error card ("Isaih") with Elite. Best case scenario is a lot of upward pressure, perhaps even a parabolic one, if he becomes the "it" guy.

Gronk cards have held pretty well over time. I think Kelces do too. Theres not really any consensus top rookies for Gates or Tony G, so I think its more about the lack of desireable cards when it comes to them than it is their popularity.
I have been going hard and heavy on Derek Stingley Jr since March 2023........#3 pick in the Draft....LSU Tiger of course.....he comes from DB U (LSU). With the Texans getting CJ Stroud and Will Anderson Jr....i think there is a good shot and his stuff skyrocketing.

I’m focusing on rookie QB cards that are #’d low like /4, /10, /25, /50 just not sure which brand to go for besides Prizm and Select.

The buy last year was the Leaf Metal Draft 2022 Anthony Richardson cards. Most have doubled or tripled in value (price) since the set was released. They continue to climb with supply being very tight. If he plays well this season, expect the cards to double or triple again.

Great content as always...I think now is actually a great buying point for Tua with everyone so hesitant and down on him. People forget he was in MVP talks before his injuries. Definitely get the concern tho. So do you never buy rookie qbs unless they're first round picks? Always seem like they're way over priced e.g. Pickett...
Tua dies on field after a massive seizure from a blow to the head either from the ground or player this year.
No matter what the pick, the best time to buy football has passed. Late November-early January is a great time to buy players for the next season. If you're buying right now you're really banking on a guy getting super hot.

Vegas odds also composed of peoples bets. Remember, Vegas is in the business of making money. Those odds change as people place bets and some of those bets are based off personal feelings (favorite team, home teams, etc) with no statistics involved.

Thanks for the break down-good stuff. But like you said even though those position players could be a good buy and their value could go up, the shelf life is short lived and would need to move them soon after the value increases cuz it won't last long! I have a JaMarr Chase downtown-Hold it or sell it? wait till he is gets back to the superbowl? I have a question about a card, my all time best pull was in 2020 from a NFL prizm blaster. I didn't even know at the time what a monster this card was until someone told me plus he was hurt and value was not very strong. I pulled a retail dark blue prizm Joe Burrow RC which I was told is extremely rare not #d but heard it was out of /20 or /25 no way to know for sure the pop. My question is about getting it graded. I have seen other prizm burrows that were graded a PSA 10 that looked off center to me and some that were 9's that could have graded a 10. I don't want to get it graded and get a 9 because the difference in value between a 9 and 10 is in the thousands. So it sits in my collection not graded but I really want it graded, but not as a 9-what would you do Mr. Market mover? I appreciate your insight.
Look at the card real close to make sure there is no surface defects. That is the difference in some of those 10's that are not centered. I do believe that most of those cards are not perfectly centered. Printing defect. That take , the good with the bad.

TPott, I've already started prospecting, and Jared Goff was the first NFL lot of singles I bought this year. I also bought a good amount of CJ Stroud, Garrett Wilson, and some of my favorite Browns player Nick Chubb. I plan on buying a lot of Amon-Ra to go with Goff, and probably a few Josh Allen and Joe Burrow cards. I think Herby is a lot like Dan Fouts out there in San Diego, putting up great passing numbers, but he's not won anything, and I'm not sure he ever will. And if I'd speculate on D, I love Aiden Hutchinson, so I guess I'm hoping for a good Lions season along with you! I love prospecting in all sports! It makes the hobby more fun. Awesome content as always, these QB breakdowns are always my fav. BUT theres NO WAY you can say "I told you so." regarding Mac Jones after just 2 seasons, the last one where he played injured but more importantly w/a DC making the play calls as the OC. Let alone his rookie year he was by far the head of the 2021 QB class, which hasta play into affect, too! Now, if Mac has a down year this season, then you can say that all you want, but I absolutely believe he's going to have a huge bounce back year under Billy O'Brien who's always been one of the BEST QB coaches in football (Brady's QB Coach in his 2010 MVP season). Mac is very familar with him as they worked together after Billy O took the Bama OC job in Jan 2021. Cannot WAIT to get this season going! Keep up the great work Tea-Pot!

I think Mac Jones is a great buy. I'm in the minority but he had Matt Patricia calling plays and very little around him. It helps having Zappe giving competition. Most importantly, he is cheap, the upside is so high. Jalen Hurts is a great buy, Eagles had an awesome draft. I think they have a great chance of winning the super bowl. Which only increases the demand. I'm selling on Picket, Fields, and Rogers.

I think Goff will be the reason the Lions can’t get past a certain level. His card prices will probably mirror the same trajectory as Ryan Tannehil/Kirk Cousins. Prices will go up as their teams win more games but eventually collector’s will realize they just aren’t top tier guys. In my opinion this is the year to buy Fields. Why? The Bears will be a much improved team, not going to complete for a Super Bowl but they are a very young team with the most cap space in the entire league. They have completely rebuilt the offensive line and receiver core. Our #2 most targeted wideout last year is competing for the 6th spot on this years WR core. Two solid tight ends, 3 very promising running back. Buy Buy Buy on Fields.
Cousins had the most 4th quarter comebacks in the league last season. I think he has the most potential upside on this list. His RC's are a much lower pop and the one thing about Cousins, he's NEVER injured! They are already dirt cheap and if he comes out the gates hot, I can see a quick rise. If Jared Goff is getting hobby attention, Cousins historically has been significantly better. I just think his personality has hurt his image, although last season he loosened up, looked like he started to have fun and started to fit that leader role.

Agree with all but ken walker and you have a little too much bias with your Lions division. Bears will have a tok 10 D this plus field has a legitimate receiving corp now. Bears and Likns will be at the top if the North and Fields prices will explode

5 QBs rushed for 700+ yards last year. Why? Every defense is geared to stop the pass. On 1st down, many defenses come out with 2 high safeties and a nickel package as their base.
What does this mean? The running game is open. For that reason, I'm targeting RBs to accumulate and sell over the next year. My main targets have been Rachaad, Zamir, and Pierre Strong.
Pretty easy to get all the great product one wants for Zamir White and Pierre. Rachaad is much more difficult. Don't think he signed a lot of product.
As a Chiefs fan, I have a lot of Pacheco (zero autographs out there), Skyy, and, of course, Kadarius.

Heres my predictions...Lions are gonna suck, Hurts gets hurt, Geno is gonna suck, i think deshaun watson is gonna do good idk if he'll do great but people are underestimating him same with Jordan Love hes gonna do ALOT BETTER than people think, the jets are gonna be AMAZING look at there roster + Aaron Rodgers, the BIG QBs this season are in my opinion... TUA, LOVE, LAWERENCE, RODGERS, RIDDER the QBs that are on the fence HURTS(injured), Daniel Jones ( he got overpaid), Geno Smith(1 good year time to struggle) the SURPRISE QB...Sam Darnold. Burrow, Allen, Mahomes are gonna be the same
Regardless of how you feel about Russell Wilson he is a hall of famer, and his prices are so low now its a buy for me. Historically black qbs do not sell the same as qbs with the same or even lesser careers from the same draft class. Mahomes is a outlier, and the best qb playing.

I totally get your point on Justin Fields. From a Bears fan, the main factors are: 1) Hope the Bears finally get a generational QB which we have NEVER had. 2) His stats last year are not fair to look at because he was throwing to a bunch of WR 3/4/5s and also offensive line was awful. Now he has a WR1 in DJ Moore and offensive line is much more solid this year. I agree that his prices are too high but a ton of hope from Bears fans is on him really.

Trust me, I was as critical of Goff as anyone for several years, but he really impressed me last year.
Did you miss the 2019 Super Bowl? He made it. Admittedly played poorly in that game.
He has the ability. He was a number one pick for a reason, it’s just the pressure that worries me. Last season the Lions were underdogs with no expectations and he thrived. Can he repeat this year with high expectations? I hope so!

I think you are wrong about Deshaun Watson. The guy didnt play for almost 2 seasons. “Cooked” I think not. The guys way too talented. As far as Russell Wilson I believe he will have a bounce back season. After Denver gave him the bag he gained some weight and tried to be a pocket passer. I think Sean Peyton will have him playing like the old Russell.
