I used to frequent NoHo, specifically that Magnolia East of Lankershim in the late 1990s but it was mostly for the line of vintage clothing/jewelry shops that were there. I haven't been back in awhile and was looking forward to seeing if they were still there. A lot has changed and while I understand that real estate pricing favors restaurants and bars over mom and pop vintage stores, it's a little depressing for someone like me who loves shopping vintage and/or thrift stores. A lot of old Hollywood actresses and costumers would leave behind these beautiful dresses from the 1940s - 1970s for vintage shop owners to resell. An era has passed, I suppose.

NoHo is my hometown 😫 the arts district was non existent years ago & now they have all these great places to eat and visit. Really wish it was like this when I use to live there.

I used to live right around Magnolia Blvd in Noho when I was in college, there were not too many stores or restaurants back then, now it is incredibly busy.

It should be, though. Great food, fun places to see like Player 1 arcade/bar, events like the Vegan Food Fair...way better than it might sound...live theater watching opportunities everywhere, and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences sculpture garden. It should definitely be part of your LA trip.
Nice sights and sounds of North Hollywood, I have passed through but never really got time to explore the zone.
I should plan on exploring it indepth next year.

Is it worth bringing a car if I move there and could I afford to live with a $50k-70k salary as long as I have roommates and add that with the car maintenance, gas, and insurance prices? How is the public transit there because I hear mixed things about it?
Yes. It is definitely doable. The public transit is ok, but it's more convenient to get around in a car.
