Intamin Complete Roller Coaster History: 1979-2023 and Beyond

- Intamin Amuesment Rides may not be the oldest Roller Coaster manufacturer out there, but their evolution over time is perhaps the most fascinating of any company. Starting out with a small collection of children and family coasters, they would evolve to build some large wooden coasters, bobsled coasters, and stand up coasters, before pioneering a new launch technology. This would propel them into their new identity, building large scale launched coasters of many sizes including a few worlds tallest, mega coasters which would attempt elements never seen before, and inverting coasters with more inversions than anyone had ever seen before. This is all on top of a new generation of wooden coaster technology, many shuttle coaster evolutions, and a large series of dynamic special effects coasters. This video chronicles their full roller coaster history up to August 2023, over 180 different coasters, and nearly all breaking ground in its own way. A playlist is linked with all footage used in the video, as well as tags throughout the video of smaller videos broken down into shorter segments.

Unfortunately due to copyright reasons, two of the segments of the video have been edited to have the background music removed (the segment on Soaring with Dragon in 2016 and the beginning of 2023). The audio sounds pretty weak in these parts, but the original parts 3 and 4 still have the copyright audio if you wan the cleaner sound.
What an excellent 4 part series; you really knocked it out of the park with this feature-length documentary. You should definitely create a series for other notable companies (such as B&M, RMC, Schwarzkopf, etc). Thank you!!
Yeah I agree with you I wait the next !
Yes please! It doesnt even habe to be a major coaster, you can also make a minseries!
@@K-Engineering_05I love this gay channel
Some of the best coaster content on the platform. I really hope we see the same for other manufacturers. I was looking for something like this and I’m so happy you delivered
This is genuinely one of the best CZcams videos I’ve ever seen
You are criminally underrated, absolutely great video, super informative and you deserve so many more subs and views
It’s crazy how they have been at the forefront of ride technology for about 30 years and are still improving. For example Red Force’s LSMs make an extremely loud noise and only 6 years later they had refined their technology so much that they are now completely silent on Batman Gotham City Escape
Very nice to see the evolution of Intamin. Thanks man!
I really like how the music changes to fit each ride’s vibe. That’s a nice touch!
This deserves so many more views, I love the history of roller coasters and this video is amazing
Amazing video, Jacob!! I can tell you have spent many hours working on all of the Intamin videos and it shows. Thank you for putting them all together!! Started watching your work when the first video in the series came up a while back and I'm really excited to watch your channel grow. Good luck!!!!!!!!
Incredible video man, great quality and was looking for something like this! You got a sub!
WOW awesome work dude. That must have taken forever to put together. Excellent work and very much appreciated.
Wow! The scope of this video is tremendous and the content encyclopedic. Great aesthetics, too and good music choices. Excellent work!!
This is absolutely fascinating. Thank you!
As already been said and deserving so amazing time and effort into this fantastic video and others. Another sub gained and routing for this channel to grow into something very special. Good luck and thank you for the snazing content so far
That was amazing! I was so glad to see a video highlighting just how incredible my favorite manufacturer is. It seems like even some enthusiasts (*cough cough* Airtime Thrills) have decided that other manufacturers like RMC are better. I thought I knew most things about Intamin, but it was eye-opening to know they just built a 400 ft tall coaster out of nowhere! I hope that Intamin continues to have many more amazing years to come, just like your channel which I subscribed to!
Absolutely fantastic work. Excellent and well-researched!
My man just casually dropping a whole ass movie
Excellent video and thank you!
19:05 The intamin Impulse coasters (plus Volcano and California Screamin) used LIMs
Thanks for this video 🙌
Intamin has to be the best coaster manufacturer in the world, if not one of the best
Great video man
jacob this is incredible!!!
Just fyi, Rita wasn’t a secret weapon which is weird but people believe it’s because it didn’t break any records :)
Great video, although Rita at Alton Towers was a off the shelf design and was never a secret weapon
How on earth do you not have more subscribers? This is fucking great content!
great videos I watched all of them!
Awesome video
Great work 😮😮😮
I lived by Colossus at Thorpe Park (UK) soon after it opened. I still remember the feeling of those heartlines.
Totally repped the merch at boarding school. xD They had this cool design: 10xO (10 times Loop). Anyway, Colossus =
Great video
very well made
This is fantastic
Thanks!
Curious, what was the theme song playing for 1985? That was a nice head bopper :D
Note: volcano, and the first impulse in Japan both used LIM launches, not LSM
Thank you 😁
I live by great America In Illinois I love America eagle and thanks intamin for one of my favorite roller coaster and I also went onto milemmuam force ( sorry I not a good speller I’m 12 btw)
In 2024, Six Flags Over Georgia will open the world's first Intamin Ultra Surf coaster and will be the first SF park in the chain to get a new gen Intamin coaster
I know, the first Intamin to be left out of this video! I might do a follow up every year for any new Intamins announced after
Ehhh it may TECHNICALLY roll and use gravity to coast, that is a water ride. Until I see something that looks like Pantheon or that new Batman in Spain I wouldn't consider six flags having a new gen Intamin yet.
It actually doesn’t splash down like the Mack model, the water effects are all done through fountains. So it will be more similar to the original Surfrider at Wet n Wild with the water jets than anything
This is such an amazing and comprehensive history for such an amazing manufacturer. Is there a reason Pilgrim's Plunge wasn't included?
While huge, it is still just a flume ride
Why is everyone just duck riding your duck 🦆🦆🦆
Can anyone tell me what song that is @ 12:12 / 1995? I tried shazam but it doesn't work.
Just a correction, Rita isn’t classed as a Secret Weapon at Alton Towers
skyrush is amazing the airtime is strong asf too
Rita wasn’t a secret weapon m8
I’ve made a terrible error!
Alonso should have worn his F1 helmet for the Ferrari ride 😂
I like the video but I can barely hear you over the music
I am not sure, but i tink intamin them self said that the trains where specificcaly developfed for taron actually
All coaster manufacturers are inspired by intamin
To all live California what is the only Theme Park I know that is just outside of Los Angeles Six Flags Magic Mountain, also I know right now SFMM has 20 roller coasters the park has more roller coasters than any theme parks here in America. Two things first a certain roller coaster in Santa Cruz The Giant Dipper is turning 100 years old in May and second California's Great America I’m sorry to say this the theme park is going to close by 2033.
Rita wasn’t a secret weapon
