“We spoke out against racism, hunger, gangs, crimes, and turf wars, as we embraced all people with hope and the spirit of brotherhood. It’s just as apropos today.” - WAR
WAR, the original street band, was founded by veteran record producer Jerry Goldstein and rock legend Eric Burdon in 1969. Together with the original band members Lonnie Jordan, Howard Scott, Lee Oskar, B.B. Dickerson, Harold Brown, the late Thomas “Papa Dee” Allen, and Charles Miller, they blended many musical styles and influences. The musical laboratory that is WAR yielded 17 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, including the triple platinum ‘The World Is A Ghetto’ and double platinum ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends?’ and ‘Greatest Hits’, and hit songs "Why Can't We Be Friends?", "Low Rider", "Spill the Wine", and "The Cisco Kid".
WAR began playing live shows to sold-out audiences in the 1970s and continues their commitment to being road WARriors, touring over 150 dates a year to this day. - Hudba

I totally agree. Its a shame that they are not in. They help define a period of our culture so what a better reason for being in the Rock HOF.
They're Iconic from all the way back and no album collection was or is complete without them, that's just how it is. forget the R&RFO!

Of the best groups war was outstanding in the '70s they should be in the rock and roll Hall of Fame
War is one of the Greatest R&B groups of all time during the 1970's. One of my most favorite songs were "Cisco Kid" "Why Can We Be Friends" and "All Day." were my favorite songs growing up as a kid. I think that War deserves to be inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their music will live on for future generations to enjoy. 🎵 🎵 ❤️
Well said ☮️
Unfortunately the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. Many deserving great bands are ignored and many second rate acts are included.
War is the bomb!!! I have not heard them in a long time, But as soon as you hear them start to play. They lift us up like It took us back to the first day we heard this cut for the first time. WOW!! The good old days!!. Thanks!!

War one of The greatest band with an extensive musical history. Why they're not in the R&R Hall of Fame is beyond comprehension along with a lot of other deserving musicians and entertainers!!
But did you no they are Eric burdon and animals
I'll never forget the first time I heard The Cisco Kid in 1972. That beat still gets into my feet and I have to dance. I've been listening to War ever since.
Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame it's a shame that WAR is not inducted!
me and Baby Brother , my all time favorite, my brother was 1 year and 2 days younger than me . I always looked out for him especially after he came back from Vietnam. we would sit and listen to War with such delight . he died in 2002 , I still miss him , but anytime I hear this group I think of the good times we had listening to them. they were so cool back in the day and they are still great in 2021.and so I listen with delight for me and my Baby Brother.Rock on WAR . Rock on forever.
I SALUTE
BABY BROTHER💝
Sounds like you we're a better brother then mine was. He would through Rocks at me. And his friends would stand up for me. But don't get me wrong my older brother always had my back .

WAR! Who ever grew up listening to this music, has great memories!! Enough said!
Back when you went out and talked to your friends face to face and met people face to face, pretty much could tell if they were for real instead of today thinking you know something or somebody because you text and so forth.
You are so right, inclusive all memories of Car racing in Hockenheim, better than Rush the movie, I met them all.

Reply Nick CA caves sis from Denise fields hi I just received your comment and I wanted to reply I agree with you wholeheartedly and I still don't really know why they had to change their name to check the rights to all of their music 🎵🎵 but they are simply great and I would like to thank you for being a listener to the station and if you could ever decide that there's something that you'd like to hear please contact me and I'll be more than happy to play for you as long as I have the name of the song and artist okay so thanks again.
@@denisefields7233 How r they not in HOF???
@@terywetherlow7970 , Denise f i e l d s hi and happy Easter to you I don't know where you are if it's morning afternoon or evening but I do hope you have a lovely day I did receive your comment you came in under the group war and your question to me was why aren't they in the Hof. Well to answer that particular question would take a conversation for us because a lot of people thought that they should have been however I do believe that there was this probably a lot of controversy around the name itself war however in 2024 they were placed in the Rock Hall projected and the only original member that still with war is Lonnie who is the keyboard player all of the other people are not the original group of men from the original group war. The group war came out in 1969 and they actually Rose the same during the '70s and they said that their mission was to spread brotherhood and harmony I think that the music that they put together with completely phenomenal and even though there will always be that controversial stigma if you might say about them not being in the Hall of Fame it's really sad because they were such a great group. So other than the group war is there someone else that you enjoy listening to because I was going to say if you happen to have the name of the song and the name of the artist I would be more than happy to play something for you since this is the end of Easter Sunday. I would like to thank you so very much for being a listener to the station and anytime you have a comment please feel free to contact me and I'll be more than happy to contact you back like I'm doing so now so . Again I do thank you and please take care. 😎🌴💦🎉🎶🥀
Agreed. They should be in the sooner the better....
Reply Nick c o c a v s s i s from Denise f i e l d s Hi how are you I just received your comment and I see that you came in under war greatest hits beautiful beautiful music I'm so glad that you agree and that you enjoyed it fantastic yes you are so right in your comment but of course it's something that will never be unfortunately. And it really is so very sad because they were so good beautiful music but they just had the wrong title name the wrong time because war is going on and then you come out with the group other name of war and thousands of people are being killed. Wrong name given to them at that time I don't know what their PR people were thinking about at the time but they're the ones that in my opinion messed it up for these young men that eventually turned into men and work their butts off. I would like to thank you so very much for being a listener to the station and any time that you feel like how many Faith feel free to do so and I will be more than happy to get back with you. So until again please take care, 🆘🌈😄🌴🎶🎶😎😊👍🐈💯
